I was woken up by the sound of a loud knock on the door. I groaned and turned on my side. They was knocking so hard I swear the house was shaking. I slowly made my way down stairs, doing some stretches to wake myself up. Waking up at 8am on a sunday is like the world ending. I don't want it to happen.
I swung open the door and Sarah was stood there. She was my last girlfriend in Pallet Town and infact my only. We had spent 3 years together. She looked rather angry and I was nervous.
"How come, these past two months, you haven't spent one day out with me?" She folded her arms and frowned.
"How can I?" I shouted, getting angry at her "With weeks worth of homework to catch up on because of these countless detentions, I don't have any free time"
It was like I was talking to a barn door "So I am not important anymore?" She looked ready to strangle me.
"When did I say that? Of course you are" I was already getting fed up.
"Look, how about we go out today?" I said. She gave it some thought and nodded.
"This better be good" She replied.
Sarah had long jet black hair and wore a checkered blue shirt and a white vest underneath. She had black skinny jeans on and boots that were almost knee high. I came out in what was then my usual outfit and stepped outside.
After about an hour, we began talking normally again.
"I am sorry for being mad at you" She said, sounding too apologetic.
Things went from bad to worse as a random blonde girl walked up to me.
"Hey, Ash. Ready for out date tonight?" She said to me with a big smile.
"Who the hell are-" I began asking but a slap across the face put me down.
"I see why you never have free time you pig!" Sarah screamed.
I tried to explain but she cut me off again "We're finished, goodbye Ash" Sarah ran off in a flood of tears and the blonde girl was gone.
Only one person caught my attention. Josh.
I was powerless against him, because he had his dad to keep me away from him, with constant detentions and meetings. I decided to just say something instead.
"I will get you Josh, one day!" I pointed in a way to show I was threatening him. He just laughed and walked off.
In a rage I stormed off home. The tree's fresh with green leaves moved in the wind and occasionally the dust was picked up and got in my eyes, before it settled again. I continued walking until I got to a cross section in the road. It was really quiet on the roads so I crossed instantly and after walking past a few shops and bars, I made it to my street. I stepped into my house. Rage was my main emotion at the time, I didn't care about Sarah breaking up with me, it was about revenge against Josh. Enough revenge to make him give up.
6 Months Later
Me and my mom were having breakfast when she gave me the news.
"Ash" She said, searching for where to start.
"Yes, Mom?" I was a little puzzled. What was my Mom up to?
"After the summer, I am changing jobs to a bakery, quite far away" I waited for her to answer the obvious questions.
"We will be moving house and schools" She said and I felt... a mix of emotions. Happy? Sad? Confused? I couldn't tell. I stayed silent and didn't reply.
"It is a small town called Vaniville. The house is really nice" She continued. I ignored her, surrounded by my thoughts and feelings. I decided to go see some people throughout the summer and tell them.
1 Day Before The Departure
I knocked on Sarah's door and waited patiently. She opened the door and stepped out.
"What do you want Ash?" Her voice said she was still mad but her body said I forgive you.
"Just wanted to tell you that this is the last time you'll see me here" I explained to her everything and she looked at me with no emotion, which was obviously fake.
"Enjoy your new school, I guess" She kissed me on the cheek as a goodbye and went back into her house. I was sure I heard her start crying. I had no time to feel sorry so I went back home.
It was almost like the weather negatively impacted on my emotions, as the dark black clouds rolled in, followed by the continuous boom of thunder. The thunder clapped into the now night looking sky and one drop of rain followed another. Soon, I was being showered by rain so I ran across countless streets. After five minutes there was a flash and a boom as lightning zig-zagged through the sky. I ran into my house and closed the door. I stood awkwardly for a minute, panting, before rushing upstairs. My whole body was dripping with rain water as I grabbed a towel. I rammed it into my face and began drying myself. I didn't plan on going anywhere so I got into my pyjamas and watched tv.
After an hour of endless rain, I was fast asleep. The next day was the start of a new adventure, an adventure that was now in full swing.
