At the start of every chapter, for the sake of getting to know you guys and also to interact more with some of the social readers (you know who you are xD) I am going to ask a question atleast every chapter.
So to kick things off, what is your top three anime of all time? Anime is something we all love, considering pokemon is an anime.
For me:

2. Fairy Tail
3. Attack on Titan
Tell me yours and enjoy the chapter!

(Ash)
"The x-ray confirms that he has fractured his two middle fingers. The bones just here" The doctor pointed to the x-ray sheet "These are the middle phalanxes. See how they're slightly out of position?" He asked my Mom. She gave a nod and then he shifted the sheet to one side.
"What now doctor?" I asked, looking at my hand. It looked really limp and my fingers looked so different. I was glad they wasn't actually broken, I guess I overreacted a little.
"In a moment we will do a reduction. This includes numbing your hand and then repositioning the bones in your finger. You won't feel anything as long as the pain is numbed. Then we will do something called buddy taping, where we bandage both fingers so they are stuck together. This allows the bones to heal and because it will be bandaged tightly, there is less risk of any sudden movements because both fingers move together, you can't keep one middle finger still and move the other as both will move, even if it is only a slightl movement"
"Spare me the biology lecture doc" I laughed and he gave me a little smile "I am ready when you are"
After another half hour or so, me and my Mom finally left the hospital. It felt weird having both fingers bandaged together, but I didn't mind really. The doctor I should change the bandage every week and the fact he gave me six means I have to keep it on for six.
"Does it hurt Ash?" Mom asked as we got out of the car.
"Not at all. Maybe the anaesthetic hasn't worn off yet.." I looked at my hand again and moved it around. It didn't hurt at all.
"Well, the doctor said you need to rest your left hand. It's a shame your left handed too, I'll have to call the school. Then, I want to ask you about this mess" She again gesture to my hand and I knew what she meant.
It made me think about it. We went to play baseball and another group of kids from what is considered our rival school when it comes to sports were already playing. The batter was obviously the most arrogant and cocky out of them all and he must've hit the baseball at us as a warning. The fact that everyone started fighting was pretty bad, because now we was all roughed up and I was expecting some serious questioning from the principle tomorrow. Just then, my Mom came in and put her phone down.
"If you're ok with a laptop, you can use your right hand to type?" She asked. I nodded and followed her into the kitchen. I could have said no and stayed of school, but it was my last year and it was important for me to attend classes as often as possible. We sat down at the table and I waited for the interrogation.
"What happened, Ash?" She asked as soon as the interrogation thought entered my mind. All we needed know was an empty room with a dim light.
"Drew and Calem spent all of Friday arguing about soccer and baseball. That is why we decided to play them both this weekend" I started to explain.
"So, how did you get injured, was you playing baseball? Everyone else seemed hurt aswell, so what happened?" I could tell she wanted answers. She was being too stubborn.
"We didn't get to play. A group of seniors, like us, from Lumiose had already started playing when me and Serena arrived. Drew was pissed and Calem was a little angry. Gary and Cilan followed them over to the baseball field and I decided to tag along, just in case" I was about to open my mouth again, but my Mom cut me off.
"In case what? Did you expect a fight?"
"Well, with the way Drew was acting, I did" I further explained, continuing with the story "Then, as they was all walking back, Drew said something about giving them ten minutes. As they all turned around, the guy batting took the baseball and batted it at them. Since I didn't turn around I warned them, but I didn't get time to move, so I caught the ball"
"And then you fractured two fingers" My Mom finished "You really are still a kid at heart, huh?"
"No fair! I was only doing it because it would've probably hit the girls. Besides, it was either catch it or take the hit, and I didn't have broken ribs on my agenda"
My Mom smiled and then got up "Thanks for telling me Ash. I am glad you're ok, just make sure that the others don't get into any trouble now, ok?"
"You got it Mom. It may take a few days but I am sure it will all blow over, Drew and Calem will be fine" I tried to reassure myself, but I wasn't sure. Drew was definitely gunning for a bit of revenge and I wouldn't be able to stop him. I didn't really have anything to do, so I headed to Serena's to tell her I was ok. She answered her door straight away and nearly knocked me over with a hug.
"Are you ok Ash?" She spoke quickly, clearly worried. She took my left hand and looked at my fingers "How are they?"
"I am fine right now, the anaesthetic is starting to wear off, so it is hurting a little" I looked at Serena's eyes. They looked shiny, like she had been crying.
"I was a little worried, I won't lie" She gave a little laugh and hooked her arms around my neck, putting her head on my chest "The others are worried too, you know"
"Well, tell them not too. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day" I was referring to the fight and Serena caught my drift.
"Yeah, the principle is going to have his hands full. I heard Gary broke his nose and Drew has a big cut on his cheek" Serena let go of me and took a step back towards her door.
"I can't believe Misty jumped in and hit one of them. She can be a real tomboy at times" We shared a little laugh and then everything went quiet. We stood there for a moment in a little silence.
"It's getting a little late now and I need to rest up" I said to Serena, breaking the moments silence.
"Take it easy, Ash" She kissed my cheek and turned around, heading inside "Goodnight"
"Night!" I waved and headed home to go and rest.
I woke up the next day with a throbbing pain in my hand. I tried to ignore it and made my way down to the kitchen for breakfast.
"Of course she is at work" I mumbled to myself. I grabbed an apple and ran back upstairs. I done what every teenager would do and checked my phone. There was a message from Mom.
Make sure you take a painkiller after every meal, the doctor told me. They are in the medicine cabinet.
I walked over into the bathroom and opened the cabinet. I took two out and put them on my bedside table, then got changed. I finished my apple and then took the painkiller. I always struggle to swallow pills and it hurt my throat a little to force it down without a drink. I threw my bag onto my shoulders and headed out to school. I preferred walking on my own some days, so I took a little shortcut by cutting through the forest.
As soon as I got to our usual spot, everyone was already sat around in almost complete silence. I looked specifically at Calem and Drew, who had a few plasters on their faces.
"You all ok?" I asked as I sat next to Serena. Everyone looked up and began talking at once.
"How are your fingers?" Gary asked, looking down at my hand. I held it up and looked at it again.
"It hurts a little right now, but I'll be fine in a month or two" I turned to Drew and Calem, who both still looked pissed "You guys alright?"
"Sure" Calem was the one that spoke "But you do know we are planning to get revenge?" I nodded instantly, having already guessed.
"We don't need anymore fighting" Serena added "Lets just hope we never have to see any of them again"
"Serena is right" Kenny said "Violence isn't an answer"
Drew looked up and flashed a smirk "Who said anything about violence?" Everyone looked a little confused, but I shared the same smirk.
"A prank? Oh, I am IN!" I fist pumped, feeling a little too excited "What's the plan?"
"We will discuss it at lunch" Gary nodded to the other end of the school yard. The principles secretary was walking over "We have other things to attend to first" I don't know if it was just me, but this fight made me think about Gary differently. He seemed a little more mature, like the badass in those action films.
"The principle would like to see ALL of you in his office please" The secretary said as soon as she came over. We all looked around for a moment in silence. I was here thinking it was one at a time, he never had this many people in his office.
"All of us?" Gary asked, unfolding his arms and moving off the wall.
"I did say that, didn't I?" The secretary scoffed and walked off.
"She is a bitch" Calem moaned, as we followed behind.
"I am sure she heard that" May giggled and we all laughed.
We got into the principles office and shut the door behind us.
"What will I do with you kids?" He said instantly as we stood infront of his desk "A big fight in the local park over a game of baseball? You're seniors now, what kind of example are you setting to the kids?"
"They started i-" Drew began, but Calem threw his hand infront of him.
"With all due respect, sir" He began, speaking in a calm tone "The seniors from Lumiose High did try and hit us with a baseball and Ash was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is perfectly normal for people to react by retaliating. We was angry by their actions and wanted a little revenge and made the decision in a split second, meaning there was no turning back"
"It is true that they started first, we gathered that much from Mr. Ketchum's fingers" The principle commented, gesturing to my bandaged hand "Therefore, only those that threw a punch will be in detention with me on Friday writing up why violence is wrong. You know who you are, so those people will stay behind. The others are dismissed"
I slowly walked out of the now awkward office with the girls, besides Misty. Kenny too walked out, because he never even made it to the baseball field in the first place, so he had no involvement.
"Well, their punishment isn't that harsh I suppose" Iris commented in an attempt to cheer us up. I had one person on my mind.
"This will go on Cilan's record and as far as I know he has been a clean student from day one. It will certainly make things harder for him" I felt a little bad too, I had a small feeling it was my fault, but no one should ever blame themselves.
"It doesn't matter too much when we know he will ace his exams" May added with confidence "We can believe in the others too"
"Yeah, but I don't see Gary going places unless he scores a soccer scholarship and gets into the best colleges for sports" Kenny remarked, with a little smile.
"I guess we can all agree on that" Dawn laughed a little bit.
"I am glad I wasn't in trouble, otherwise it would be harder for me to get into college with my current form in exams" I looked down at the floor, reminiscing my exam scores and how badly I did during the practice exams in the last year.
"You will be fine if you keep a clear record, Ash" Serena added with a confident smile "I believe in you"
I felt my cheeks warm up a little and gave a nervous hiccup "Heh. Thanks Serena"
Iris walked in front of us all and turned around "Can we skip the lovey dovey crap and head to class now? We are already late enough as it is"
"Yeah, yeah. Lets go to class now" I agreed, with only a little hesitation. Then I remembered something "Oh yeah! I need to go and get a laptop for the day from the library, I will meet you all in science!" Everyone in the group we had were in my science, so they all nodded and headed off. I made my way to the library and got a laptop for the day. Then I headed to science and walked in about 35 minutes late, the laptop tucked under my right arm.
"Ah, Ash Ketchum, I believe you was in the principals office?" Our teacher asked as I made my way into the class.
"Yes, sir. I also had to pick up this" I lifted up the laptop "Because I fractured a bone in two fingers "I then gestured to my left hand, which he scanned over and then nodded.
"Ok, sit down please" He opened up his textbook again "Let us continue on page 52 and answer the questions afterwards, please"
We spent the rest of the day in boring lessons and by lunch I felt as if my right hand was about to fall off, typing was tiring after a long time but with my weaker hand it was slower and worse. As we sat down at our table I realized that Gary said he was going to mention the plan at lunch.
"So this plan, what is it?" I looked over at Gary, who paused midway through eating a slice of pizza. He put the rest on his plate and looked up at me.
"Well, I have a cousin who is in Lumiose High, a freshman" Gary started. He looked really into this plan so I listened, taking him seriously "He said that next week, there is a party being hosted by the most popular dude in their school, a senior who just so happens to like baseball"
"The batter" Drew added. Gary looked over to him with a little frown, then turned to me.
"Basically, we are going to retaliate without violence and trash his house during the party" Gary's face changed to an idiot like grin, the face I knew too well.
"How are we getting in?" Kenny asked, leaning in. He suddenly looked interested now.
"We aren't getting in" Gary said casually, making us all confused "My cousin is going to grab some stuff and then we are going to break it all and then trash his garden and car with TP and eggs, a classic prank if you ask me"
"Erm, I hope you don't mind me intruding, but that is vandalism, not a prank" Iris added, making us all frown.
"Oh, Iris dear" Gary struck a nerve in Iris with the word dear and she look surprised "What happened to my face yesterday was vandalism. Call it a retaliation, payback"
Iris laughed and she changed to a smile "You know, they must have punched your brain online, because you actually sound a little smart for once.
"I will take that as a compliment and move on" Gary was still being casual.
"So I guess it is settled" Calem's eyes narrowed a little "Next week is payback week"
"You know you could just offer them a game of baseball" May tried to butt in, but Drew continued.
"They won't know what hit them" He grinned and put his fist into his palm. Some of the girls looked dumbstruck, but Serena turned to me.
"You aren't going to get involved, right?" She asked me. I hesitated and tried to decide in my head.
"I don't know. I would like to get revenge but I can't exactly use my weak hand" I looked at my left hand and the two fractured fingers "I guess I shouldn't"
"Ok, good" Serena smiled, I guess she was relieved now.
"If you guys get into trouble, then it is your own fault, you know that?" Dawn folded her arms and looked at the others with menace.
Kenny nervously gulped "Yeah..We know"
I laughed "I never knew Dawn had it in her to be so intimidating"
"I aim to please" Dawn said all confident, inspecting her fingernails, clearly proud of herself.
"Well, after getting this detention I will not be getting involved" Cilan finally spoke up "I need to keep my record clean from now on"
"Buzzkill" Misty pouted and then turned to Drew, Gary and Calem "I am in if you need a fourth man"
"Well..You're not a man, but what's the difference right?" Gary shrugged and then laughed a little bit. Misty didn't really reply. Instead she just smiled and then continued to eat her lunch.
"Well it is settled. The pussies stay at home while the real men do the work" Calem sounded a little cocky.
"Why don't you say that after my fingers heal?" I looked over at him, jokingly frowning. Calem gave a little smile and bowed his head.
"Gladly" He replied, before continuing with his lunch. There was a few mismatched conversations here and there before the bell rang. The plan was set for next week and I was pretty confident that I would end up being involved in it all somehow. Just because I felt like I shouldn't miss any of the action.
