Chapter 6 - Where His Loyalty Lies
GOD DAMN WE ARE BACK!
It's been quite some time, right? I am sorry for leaving of this short special that is included in the quadrilogy I have done (Vaniville High Series)
I have finished Going For Glory, it took way too long and I still have to edit it, but I wanted to bring this back.
Sorry for the short chapter though, just getting back into the swing of things with this, since all of my original ideas have been forgotten xD.

One Month Later...
(Kenny)
Ever since Georgia walked into the restaurant, Drew has been in and out of his shifts, spending lots of time with her. It's not like I am jealous or anything, I thought we was like brothers, spending lots of time together.
Bros before hoes, god damn it, Drew.
At that moment, Drew came into the restaurant, ready for work.
"I haven't seen you all day," I said to him, already knowing his response.
"I was with Georgia" Drew replied like he did any other day. Same old routine with him now.
I silently sighed and turned around, running a hand through my auburn hair. I looked outside, noticing how much the weather had improved, with the sun shining off of the glass, a spread of yellow light against one specific pane, making it harder to see.
Drew stepped into the main office we usually sat in, taking his seat while I fell into my own, spinning around to my computer.
"With the number of customers we have had so far, today will be easy for the kitchen staff" I commented, pressing my fingers down on specific keys, typing away on my computer. Compiling reports for the week was probably the most boring part of our jobs, but someone had to do it and my dad was giving me a lot of money to look after and supervise the place.
"Looks like another easy day then, huh?" Drew was more interested in his phone. Probably texting Georgia, as usual.
The same old thing for a month. I gulped and decided to mention it.
"Say, Drew" I waited for him to look up in response. "How about we hang out sometime, play some video games at mine or something?"
"It depends on what day-" Drew began, but I wasn't going to let him say it.
"Because you might be spending more time with Georgia?" I made my annoyance way too obvious, crap.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Drew replied in what I would consider a harsh tone, taking my reply offensive.
"We haven't hung out in weeks, that's all" I shrugged, shutting off the computer and putting my full attention on Drew.
"That's because I have been with Georgia. I love her, isn't that clear?" Drew spread his arms out, making it seem like it was too obvious, which it was.
"Of course, but am I not your best friend? We are like brothers man," I frowned, but Drew looked back at me with his offended look.
"Brothers don't question each other. Hell, brothers don't have to hang out all the time. Are you jealous, is that it?" Drew asked the unspoken question, god save me.
"Of course, I am not jealous, I am happy for you in fact. I just feel tired of you constantly avoiding me for her" I knew this argument was pointless, but Drew was getting agitated.
"Well, excuse me for wanting to spend time with someone else other than you. I'll try and be a good boy next time" Drew stood up and pushed the door open with force, storming out. The door swung back and forth for a few moments, a few staff members peeking in to see what was going on.
"Get back to work!" I stared back at them and they instantly disappeared, going back to work.
More time passed and Drew came back into the office, looking calm. I felt too awkward to even say anything, so I kept to myself, not even glancing his way and the silence filling the room made me feel tense. Was Drew going to hate me now?
"Kenny?" Drew asked, finally breaking the silence. Thank god I didn't have to do it.
"What is it?" I kept my eyes locked to my screen, only listening.
"I am sorry, for being an ass" Drew apologized, which was kind of shocking.
"I should be apologizing, I came across as a total douche" now was a good time to turn my attention to Drew, he still looked calm and collected.
"So, when do you want me to meet you at your place?" Drew asked me, surprising me completely.
"Seven?" I asked, receiving an almost instant nod.
"I'll order the pizza" Drew grinned and it was settled.
This made me feel better. Definitely like brothers, that's for sure. Instantly making up after a fight, although this was only a minor altercation.
As if the gods had answered my prayer, like they had answered Drew's with Georgia, she walked into the office, which was something we allowed since a week ago or so.
"Just wanted to come in to say hi" Georgia bent down and kissed Drew on the cheek. "We still on for tonight?"
"Sorry, I have plans with Kenny now" Drew glanced at me and back at Georgia, who pouted.
"Oh, really? What happened to our date?" She inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, I haven't spent much time with him recently, so we were planning a time to hang out and tonight was the best option" Drew gulped this time. He is so whipped.
"Tonight was meant to be our night" Georgia gave him the puppy dog sad face, but Drew was sticking to his guns for once.
"I will make it up to you tomorrow, I promise" Drew hoped this was enough, I could see the hope in his eyes as he waited for a response.
"I will hold you to that promise" she was one hundred and ten percent serious. I kind of felt sorry for Drew at that moment, since he had a lot on his hands for tomorrow.
"You have held me to many promises before and I always keep them" Drew replied calmly, back to his usual self.
Georgia finally smiled and then tapped Drew on the nose. "See ya then"
As soon as she left, Drew took a moment to let out a huge sigh, huffing, and puffing.
"You're so whipped!" I laughed, making Drew frown.
"I am not 'whipped'" Drew argued, which made me laugh harder.
"Yeah, right" I continued for a moment, but I wanted to say something else. "Thanks a lot, by the way"
"For what?" Drew asked me like I shouldn't have been thanking him.
"Sticking to your guns and finally hanging out with me" I smiled, getting up off of my chair.
"Well, I knew you were right when you mentioned it, the way you said everything made me angry" I could tell Drew was being honest. What he said made lots of sense.
"I knew I came across as a bit of a jerk, but it was with good intentions" I grinned. "Besides, it's about time you stop getting whipped and do something else"
"I am not whipped!" Drew defended himself again and I just laughed.
"Whatever" I waved him off. "I'll be heading home now, so hold down the fort, alright?"
"Gotcha, boss" Drew did a mock salute and stayed sat in his chair while I headed out.
Although it was going to be the first time that Drew hung out with me in weeks, from the way he acted, something was very clear.
He was quite laid back and calm when talking to me, after our little argument. It made me realize that he was always going to be like a brother to me, because brothers stuck together no matter what, whether they fought or became separated, they were always there in one way or another.
Drew had a certain level of loyalty. He spent all of this time with Georgia to make her happy, which was fair.
But now, Drew knew where his loyalty was lying and he was sticking to his guns, keeping our lives balance and not ruining the brotherly bond we had.
I headed off in my Chevrolet, driving down the road towards my apartment, to get used to the new video game I bought so I could kick Drew's ass.
Because we always became competitive when playing games, like brothers do.
And we were brothers, I was two hundred percent sure.
