Theories

Yes, I know this is technically a VaniNoé book but you guys know I like to use this as a dumping ground for all my confused thoughts on the series. So here I am! To talk about my theories/predictions for the series. I know I said not too long ago at the end of 'After the End' that I didn't want to look back and see how dumb I was but I decided screw that! I do want to be able to look back and see how dumb I was! Without further adieu let's begin.

Predictions and theories:

1) Noé will drink Vani's blood (pretty standard prediction ik) but I have some thoughts about the circumstances in which it may happen. I think Vani will offer Noé his blood voluntarily. Why? Because Noé will be dying and Vani will decide keeping his past a secret is less important. The panel that made this crazy thought come to my mind as it mentions blood can be used to heal wounds:

Also Noé will leave a mark of possession in the spot shown on volume 3's cover. So, crazy prediction 1 is out of the way.

Number 2! Teacher didn't just send Noé off to look into the Book of Vanitas for fun. Certainly, Teacher seems the type to screw with stuff just to see what happens... just like a certain Glen. But I think he really wants to use it to find out more about the world formula. Why would teacher care about the world formula? He's Paracelsus, the man who caused Babel by attempting to perform a large scale formula experiment. Am I reaching? Yes. Do I still like this theory/prediction? Yes.

Also, building on that, this is Teacher's true form and as he was exposed to Babel more than anyone else he was warped beyond becoming just a vampire:

Drei! Jeanne is an artificial vampire or a clone of some kind. We see memories from her being in a tank as a kid in a recent chapter and saying she's just a doll. Some of these thoughts were clearly already imbued in her before she became a bourreu. Also, she may be a cursebearer? But I think her thirst is more likely a side effect of her artificial creation and the strain put on her body. Idk. Jeanne is just suspicious to me. Even Vani is confused by her. I thought maybe she was created as a vessel for the Queen but I don't know if Mochijun would go for something like that. Pandora Hearts makes me think everything is a misdirect lol.

4) Vani's uncovered arm actually does have some power in it. He only ever touches anything barehanded once that I can remember and it's Jeanne. At the time she lost the strength to move. Hmmmmmmmmm. Interesting. Perhaps his arm (and this is just me spewing garbage) interferes with the world formula itself or counteracts the alterations caused by Babel explaining why it messed with Jeanne, a vampire. Weirdly enough it's his unmarked arm.

Number 5! Vanitas of the blue moon was an Archiviste... or at least the Vanitas our Vani inherited the book from was. I think it could just be a title that's passed on to the book's bearer. At least because everyone calls Vanitas of the Blue Moon a he but our Vani refers to (who I assume is OG Vanitas) as a woman. So... maybe the title is passed on with the book idk. Main point is that he/she/they were an Archiviste.

Sechs! The Chasseurs, or whoever is currently in charge, wants another war with the vampires. Not interesting I know.

7) Marquis Machina is 2 people:

Eight! Louis was that goat headed member of charlatan. I have 0 evidence, I just thought it gave off Louis vibes.

Neun! Charlatan as a group must have a goal, Jun doesn't seem the kind of writer to have villains motivated by evil for evil's sake. Seeing as Ruthven is involved somehow I've decided I think their goal is to kill all humans or convert all humans to vampires.

10) Ruthven is a cursebearer based on that one weird interaction with Chloé he had. I wonder what Naenia promised him. Maybe his students being returned to life?

Eleven! This isn't so much a theory or prediction as me just wanting to state my questions/thoughts. How cursebearers work confuses me. We've seen that people can be cursebearers without going crazy. Like Chloé, before Faustina forced 'the onset' as Vanitas put it she was fine. But still a cursebearer. Similarly with Amelia Eglantine didn't come out until after a scene of Naenia messing with her true name. But Amelia still wasn't in control beforehand, her eyes turned red without her wish and she showed symptoms. So idk. I need more info.

Zwölf: The Tower of the Sun that Vani mentions looks like Babel is going to be where the final battle happens, kind of like Sablier in Pandora Hearts. No way would it be in the story in place of the Eiffel Tower if it wasn't going to be an important set piece.

13) VOTBM gave our Vanitas the mark so that he could use the book of Vanitas. Originally VOTBM planned to give it to Misha but failed. Misha has an artificial hand where maybe VOTBM tried to mark him and transfer their power? To be fair Misha is missing his left hand and Vani is marked on his right... It might explain some resentment our Vanitas feels towards VOTBM though? Misha was supposed to be their successor but he wasn't fit to wield the book and our boy is stuck with it. I'm also supposing that during this power transfer Blue Moon Vanitas gave up their life too?

Other things I want to mention:

Lou...

Dante took this off a Chasseur which is probably a container for the drugs they use. I'm interested to see what happens to it.

Marquis Machina intimidates me. What does he Want?

I mean he hired Dante to get Vani involved and get Chloé's alteration device.

Whomst!?

That is all. I hope all the images in this don't screw me over. Tell me what you think guys. What are your theories/predictions? Am I an idiot? We'll find out in a couple years I guess. Hope y'all enjoyed.
