Chapter 8~1st Vada Rana in 15 Years

Marshmallow hair that was burnt to the same crisp as his pure orange eyes. A figure with a bright blue shirt to combine with darkly tanned skin. He treaded over to the three figures that sat at the fountain. Thought to be standing above them soon enough but lost along the way at a sperate call, "Son! Come inside so we can get you ready!" He turned to the voice and looked back at the three figures. Staring at the one with a sigh. He remembered the clean white hair and the bright yellow eyes that fit closely to his old friend. His old something more.

"Coming Mama!" He called and headed off. The white-haired figure on the path of his voice, but never meeting his face. The man opened the door to a brightly colored house and stepped inside to see a vibrant splash of clothes in front of him. An older woman splashed in a bright green dress. A little girl running around in a sunset like dress. Finally, was a suit that laid across the table as a deep but bright blue.

"There you are. Just as you asked," The woman said walking away from the table.

"Mama..." The man said stopping her with his large strong hands, and yet, with all this strength a soft landing was brought onto her shoulders, "I know you do not like that I am not what I had said. I cannot give it all on a day like now. 15 years ago. You don't know the story. Why force the ending I create?"

"She isn't alive. Even then, would she remember? Would she care?" The woman said pulling back and walking away, "I know you have a deep care. But sometimes... it's hard to be your Mother... it's hard to watch you get hurt everyday you wait for someone that will never return." With that she disappeared into her own place of mind, distant from those she loved.

"Mama just doesn't get it. She's alive, right?" The little girl said tugging the man's pants.

"She is. I just saw her Madeline," The boy said tickling the girl, "And she is just as beautiful as before."

"Do you still-"

"Always Sister. Always." He picked up Madeline and set her on the table, "She is with a boy your age. He looks just like we use to draw."

"What are you going to do?"

"Nothing. If there's a child your age with her. I lost her," The man said as the girl jumped from the table.

"She's not lost. She's right out there," Madeline said and walked off, "Now get ready! The Vada Rana dance is tonight." The man laughed as she turned into a room separate from her Mother. The man looked back at his blue suit.

"That boy tells me everything I need to know..." The man took his suit and hand and walked down to his own room. A dark room where a girl of yellow eyes and white hair stayed in framed picture. Next to the man, on the mountain from years ago. Years... years ago.

While the man had gotten ready for Vada Rana. Mariana had been healing Beta and the few scratches left on Ethan. Ethan played with the fountain water. His hands soaked as Mariana watched with a smile. Then people gathered around the fountain. Many recognized Mariana and Beta but she couldn't find their faces, names, or voices in her memory quick enough for the right reaction. She had not been to this small town in over 15 years, and the people were to much for Ethan to handle. He ran. Beta following. Mariana in to big of a swarm to follow them both. Ethan was in freight and ran off, left, then right, backwards, then forwards. In no time he had gotten lost and tripped over his own feet and his colossal fear turned to a quiet cry as he had lost his way. Beta running next to him and licking his head.

"T-There were to many..." Ethan cried, "I'm sorry Mari-" Ethan began looking around scared. Realizing he was alone. And after the last time he was alone, his cries got worse. Beta dug his nose into Ethan. Scars layered it, destroying his sense of smell. "Y-Y-You can't lead me back..." He sat down next to Beta and cried into his fur, "I don't want to be alone again!" From around the corner a little girl watched, the one from before that had seen the boy run from the crowd. She stared at him as he cried into Beta's fur.

"Being alone isn't so bad..." She spoke.

"YES, IT IS!" Ethan argued, "MY MOMMY LEFT ME ALONE AND THEN MY DADDY! I DON'T WANT HER TO LEAVE ME ALONE! I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE AGAIN!" The girl stepped back and then walked towards him. She sat next to him as he looked over slightly. Not enough to show his face, but enough to see her sunset colored dress and a single ocean blue eye. The other he could not see, but he believed blue. He believed wrong. It was not an ocean blue eye, but a deep purple eye that went greatly against her tan skin. Her lips were curved to a tiny smile while she looked forwards.

"I like being alone. You can hear more, feel more, say more, vent more," She says, "Nothing holds you back."

"But there's also nothing to protect you," Ethan protested.

"I don't need protecting."

"I do," Ethan says, and the girl finally looks over, revealing the final purple eye that would stay frozen to his mind, along with the rest of her, "I'm not strong. I have a hard time with fighting and sometimes can't even walk. I don't eat much, I can't eat much. So, I get dizzy fast. I don't know the world or what's in it. I can't read or do anything. I don't like being alone."

"Well good thing you aren't alone now. I'm here." Beta barks loudly. "And so is he. Good boy." She smiled while reaching over Ethan and petting Beta.

"E-E-Ethan..." He stumbled.

"Madeline," She returned, "Now follow! You can come to my house and Pan can help you! Mama to."

"Pan?" Ethan asked. Madeline nodded and took his bandaged hand pulling him as he screamed in agony. "I got shot in this hand."

"I'm sorry. I didn't know," She said sadly.

"I-It's fine... C'mon um... Beta. C'mon Beta," Ethan said as Beta trailed beside them.

Mariana had been fighting threw the crowd, the sun had begun to set, and the lights were in a flash as they began to be switched on. It blinded her as a figure from before approached her. A burnt marshmallow colored coated the top of them while a deep but slightly bright blue colored the rest of him. His tan skin reflecting with his orange eyes as they called the crowd away.

"Okay, okay, okay," They said. A voice deep and calming. "We all missed Ari. But give her some space. She's still human." To the name she was called, Ari. She shook. It had been such a long time since that name had struck her ears. And as the rest of the words sunk in, music began to play. A soft and sweet rhythm rested in the air as the figure extended a hand to Mariana.

"Pan?" Mariana asked staring at the figure.

"May I have this dance?" Pan asked with a slight smile. Mariana smiled and return and took his hand. Pan had pulled her close letting the two danced about themselves.

"I thought you were dead. You just-" Mariana started in a frenzy.

"Left?" Pan asked with a slight smirk.

"Yeah..." A sadness grew into her eyes as Pan lead her away from the crowd. Mariana fought and won to stay within it near the fountain.

"I had to Ari. You knew it was my life against my Father's," He said spinning her then pulling her closer than before, "That, and you haven't been to honest with me. If you remember, we said if we ever could, we'd make our futures together. You went off and had a kid."

"A kid? N-No!" She pulled away as everyone around them did, "It was a street kid I found on a train ride. He wouldn't stop following me. And got into the deal with... something..."

"Something? Mom or Dad business?" Pan placed an arm around Mariana and walked her to his house.

"Both... In a way. Mom's business, Dad's family. You know the deal." Mariana rested her head along Pan's shoulder as they stepped into a house full of panic. Madeline, Pan's Mother, and Ethan, who was sprawled across the floor in a painful mess. "ETHAN!" Mariana dove down and scoped him up in her arms. He held his stomach close and tight as Mariana's worried eyes traveled along the room.

"T-To much..." Ethan moaned while digging his head into Mariana's stomach.
