*Pallavi Pov*

"Calm down, Pallavi." David mumbled hugging me, but I just couldn't calm down.

"It is all my fault and I should have cleared everything when I got the chance. Actually, I was about to explain to her, but you drag me away." I said staring at him.

"So, it is my fault?" he asked, raising his eyebrows and I nodded before shaking my head.

"I should have known better before playing a childish game and I acted so immature." I mumbled groaning feeling how it was like doing that at my age.

"I love you and they will be fine." He said, assuring me while I frowned.

"Hello?" I said, lifting the call while glancing at the clock to see that it is early in the morning.

"Pallavi, will you take care of my cases?" I heard Kamal's voice.

"Of course!" I replied immediately.

"Thank you so much." He mumbled and I immediately felt bad again.

"I am really sorry, Kamal." I mumbled shaking my head.

"Just forget about it, Pallavi." He said in an assuring tone before hanging up.

"What does he want?" David asked in a sleepy voice.

"He was asking whether I will manage his cases if needed." I replied laying back on his shoulder.

"Do you think he went behind Vani?" he asked and I shrugged.

"I hope so!" I mumbled and drifted off into sleep in his hold.

*Vani Pov*

"Mom! How many times do I have to tell you that you need to eat this food completely?" I asked glaring at her.

"But it is not good." She mumbled pushing the tray away.

"That's why you need to eat it and remember all this before going near lake to bring water without telling Dad." I said, shaking my head and pushed the spoon near to her mouth.

"How do you even know that this is good for the curing of a sprain?" she asked frowning.

"This will not cure your sprain, but will just give you needed things in your body to get the energy in its curing of its own." I replied and felt proud that I remember Kamal's words.

"And I am a doctor's wife, so I know about it." I added grinning.

"Are you happy, Vani?" she asked smiling.

"I am very happy." I replied and turned to leave the room before she complain again regarding the food.

"Don't stress your arm much." I added and walked out to see Dad walking outside the house with a smile.

I frowned and followed him, only to stop in my tracks. He stared back at me even though while answering my Dad regarding general questions.

"Vani! Why are you standing there? Help him to settle." Dad called and I rushed outside to see him walking towards Aunty's house.

We both walked there in silence and waited until Dad opened the door to the house. He left us saying he had some other work and I gave him pointed look to look after Mom.

We both stopped at the entrance looking around the house which is clean and felt glad that Dad took it upon himself to maintain this house.

Kamal without saying a word walked inside his room and I followed him, but stopped remembering he must be thirsty.

So, with a glass of water when I finally walked into his room, I saw that he is standing near the window looking outside.

"Water?" I asked, standing beside him smiling.

"You are smiling! You are actually smiling?" he asked, glaring at me.

"I shouldn't?" I asked him confused.

"You ran away from me, Vani. How could you smile?" he asked and I gave him even more confused look.

"I ran? But I came here by bus." I mumbled, shaking my head.

"Don't start your humor now and tell me why did you ran away from home." He demanded while I again shook my head.

"When did I ran without my knowing?" I asked him back.

"So, you are telling me that you are here at the village without informing me not because you heard Pallavi lifting my phone but because of something else?" he asked sarcastically.

"Yes! Mom fell near lake and got her hand sprained. Dad didn't know how to take care of her, so I came here. Now, tell me what are you saying." I said frowning at him.

He slowly started explaining what happened yesterday at the restaurant and how everyone decided I just ran away from home because of that phone call.

"Are you serious? How could you think of me like that? You should have believed me and us and not some call." I said, feeling sad before sitting on the bed.

I thought, he will say something sweet or anything but I didn't expect him to laugh at all. Hearing it, I got sadder, but even angry and stood up before walking outside the room.

However, he held my wrist near the door and pulled me back to him. He hugged me tightly from behind making it not possible to move away from his hold.

"I am sorry! But you didn't call me and just left. What else should I have thought after so many revelations yesterday?" he asked, pressing his lips to my cheek.

"I got Dad's call at lunchtime and immediately called your phone, but it was switched off. So, I called your office phone, but didn't get a clear signal with so many people in the canteen and had to hung up." I started explaining him.

"However, I explained everything to Girish and Rupa to tell you. Why didn't they?" I added frowning.

"Because they were in their own world and didn't hear you at all." He explained and I sighed, shaking my head before turning around in his hold.

"I will hit them after returning home." I said, circling my arms around his neck.

"And I will help you. Am I forgiven?" he asked brushing his lips over mine.

"I need to think." I mumbled and he laughed before throwing me on his bed.

"This bed is so small." I said when I saw that there is not much space for two people.

"There is no need for the big one." He said grinning and I laughed until he joined me.

"I need to return soon to help Mom." I mumbled when he started tugging my Saree.

"It is ok! I will make you return and no one will know what we have done." He whispered making me laugh again.

*Kamal Pov*

"Will she be fine?" Vani asked, frowning at me while we are walking towards the cemetery.

"Yes! Do not worry about her. She just doesn't like the food and that's all." I said and she laughed before holding my hand.

"Did you tell your friends that I didn't run away?" she asked abruptly stopping in the middle of the road.

"Yes!" I replied, smiling to which she smiled back.

"I will never run away from you and that is a promise." She mumbled and I held her hand more tightly before we continued our walk towards Mom.

"I need to tell you something." I said when we both stood in silence before Mom's gravestone.

"What is it?" she asked turning towards me.

"I never liked Pallavi in that way at all. I never liked anyone at all." I replied and she looked stunned.

"I know that you must have got hurt and still have doubts regarding my relation with Pallavi, but..." she shook her head stopping me from finishing the sentence.

"Yes! I was insecure even after the marriage but that day when you shared with me how scared you got for me and then the way you held me cleared all my doubts. I decided then itself that even though you liked her at one time, now you are only mine." She said and I stared at her in shock before smiling.

"But I never liked her in that way unlike her. I was just agitated because of Mom's force." I mumbled.

"Aunty told me that she wouldn't have let you marry me if you like someone else or even love, but I didn't trust her." She said sheepishly.

"Then I am glad I never took interest in anyone." I said smiling at her.

"And I am glad that I need not feel jealous of your friend and try more to just make you fall for me." She said grinning.

"Who said you need to try? Maybe I already am." I said, smirking and she stared at me with wide eyes before taking a step back.

"I will be back within a minute. You just stay here." She said, backing away.

"What are you doing?" I asked her frowning.

"I just need to run. I mean, I am not running away from but I will be just running." Saying that she indeed ran.

"God! Mom, where did you find her for me?" I asked her laughing.

"I am glad you are still here." She mumbled rushing near to me after a few minutes.

"Here!" she mumbled before I could say anything and put a ring on my finger.

"I love you!" she said smiling.

"You brought it here from home?" I asked her frowning.

"Yes! I never leave it and never travel without it. It is like I pocketed all my love in it." She replied and I stared at the ring.

"I love you too." I said, smiling at her.

"I know! Otherwise, you wouldn't have gotten to wear that at all." She said grinning making me laugh.

"I just love you more." I mumbled and we both walked back towards my house feeling blessed to share the love.
