CHAPTER 10 - Triple Trouble
I really hate this school. I'm bored out of my skull.
Why does everything always happen to me?
Yet, my mental complaining didn't prepare me for this or what was to come next.
Right now, I'm really on the spot. I'm standing I the middle of my classroom of seated children. I am supposedly 'caught' not paying attention in class.
Truth be told, I'm a multitasker. I can do several different things at once.
I was looking out the window, but my ears heard every single thing that woman said.
Just because I wasn't looking at her, didn't mean I wasn't paying attention.
"Vladimira..." she says with me cringing. As mentioned before, I hate when people call me by that name.
"Uum, it's just Mira,: I say.
"You weren't paying attention in my class?" she continues "What do I bore you? Or is there something more interesting outside-"
"I was paying attention!" I insist cutting her short.
"Really?" she says with an amused expression.
Blah, blah, blah, here it comes "Then tell me what I just said?" I say in sync with her. I am prepared for this. Yet, I get a strange prick that someone's watching me; other than every staring and snickering kid in my class.
I start anyways "We were discussing, the different categories of monsters. From lowest to highest, there are: D-level monsters such as goblins and low-level trolls, C-level monsters, for example the succubi, B-level monsters like cyclops, giants, shape shifters etc."
I watch as her eyebrows raise in an amused expression. She opens her mouth to speak, but I cut her off- yet again. Just maybe I was enjoying this.
"Yet still, any monster no matter what level can still be grouped as A-class or any level for that matter. A monster is ranked within its species or clan depending on many differing factors....speed, strength, agility, endurance and special abilities such as visual or mental prowess, shapeshifting etc. And that-" I say finishing, smiling innocently was basically the objective of this lesson,"
I must've used up everything she had in that teacher's guide book, she had clutched wide open in her hand. Oh please.
Mama and Papa used to give me lessons from the next one in that series so long ago. That way I'd be 'well-rounded' in both my human and monster heritages'.
I enjoy the look of surprise on her face as she stands there in front of me- gawking for a few seconds........
RINNG! DIIINNG!
Everyone gets up and streams out the classroom door. I grab my bag and dash out as well.
Saved by the bell. Lucky me. Now I know what that means.
I speed down the hallway. After I'm a good distance away and breathe out a sigh of relief. I could swear I saw a bit of malice in her eyes before I left the classroom. Oh well.
I shrug and let my bag droop from my shoulders to my hand and continue walking. This, however, doesn't last for long.
I stop dead in my tracks when I see what rounds the corner. I start digging into my bag searching for a weapon.
Nun chucks- no.
Throwing stars- no.
Dagger- no.
9x19 mm handgun-no!
Anything at all I could use as a weapon. My bag didn't have anything at all! Useless!
There wasn't even a pen with a sharp point or a pointy scissors. I could use those and send a lethal stab in the main vein of his neck.
I rummage through my bag frantically as the dark hair and eyes approach.
His height, the slim body and the sharp eyes.
The matching hair and eyes. Darkness.
Typical Rin.
