Cavalry's POV

"Notify the others. Tell them to meet by the riverside" I tell it as I send off my barn owl. Vampires have been known to use night animals such as bats. I had always had a fondness for the hunters like owls and would use them as his messengers.

"A dance at Serenity River? Count me in!" a voice peeps up from behind me. I quickly turn around to see Leafa transforming back into her human form wearing a dark green dress instead of her usual black gown.

"Leafa?! When did you arrive here? Have you been following me?" I ask in a light flurry of questions.

"Maaaybee" she slowly answers. "So you going to ask your girlfriend to a dance?" she asks directing the attention away from her.

"Do mere humans wish to he gods?" I retort. Leafa rolls her eyes in amusement.

"How did you even know there was a dance here anyways?"

"The fairies told me" Cavalry notes.

"Fairies? In this weather?" Leafa retorts. The weather had been dropping lately so the flowers haven't been blooming lately for them to visit. "Come on tell me the truth already. Your girlfriend had a change of plans right?"

"Mmm" Cavalry hums in thought. "Dove?"

"Dove?" Leafa asks. She turns to the direction Cavalry was facing to see a barn owl fly toward them. "Heh, you'll always be one of a kind vampire with all these takes on our culture"

"Just as a bat takes flight at night, the owl shall fly this same"

"Shall we head down to the ball? The others will come at their own time" Leafa suggests.

"Very well then. Shall I lead you m'lady?" I ask taking her hand. Leafa giggles as they walk to the dance hall below.

Many other royally dressed villagers were joining. Cavalry and Leafa slip into the crowd as another royal family. 

"This is...wow" Leafa says nearly speechless. She was twirling in a circle as she tried to grasp all the sights around her. Cavalry laughs at her child-like curiosity. 

"Take it easy Leafa. We'll have to look professional" I tell taking her hand. I lead her aside to a table of drinks and hand her one that looked like wine.

"Is this blood?" Leafa whispers in question. I take a small sip and swallow the bitter grape liquid.

"It's wine, don't drink too much or you'll get wavered in the head" I warn her. She nods lightly and takes a small sip to fit in. The music begins to rise into an up-beat dance as couples go to the dance floor and dance in circles.

"This song is amazing! Let's go dance!" Leafa says pulling me into the dance floor.

"Whoa, slow down Leafa" I try to tell her. Her cheeks were flushed and she was very giddy sounding. "I guess she can't handle her alcohol" I tell myself as she swung me into left and right circles. 

            Yuuki's POV

It took us a while to arrive at the hall. Since we lived up on the hill, the hall was quite near the river around the edge of town.

"Are you nervous Yuuki?" Asuna ask as the carriage strides along the road. Asuna was dressed in a light white dress that flowed down like a silken snow wave. It was true I was a little nervous. I mean, I did change my plans with Cavalry all of a sudden but he was a vampire, he'll find us.

"Just a little. It's been a while since I danced and I'm not sure if Cavalry will make it in time" I explain it to her.

"Getting cold feet?" Nori asks nudging her in the shoulder. I give her a nervous giggle in response. "Don't worry your pretty purple hair off" Nori says relaxing with her arms behind her head.

We arrived at the hall a few minutes later. Everyone was already inside so our late entry was going to be noticed. As the doors open, a few faces stare at us as we make our entrance. I look around to see some nobles giving us stares of 'I'm gonna marry that girl' or just obvious looks of wanting to marry a rich party lady. I notice a few people who seem out of place, like it was their first time at a party.

"Guess I'm not alone" I tell myself. It gave me some comfort to know I wasn't the only one in place but it wasn't really much. A waiter passes by as I snatch a glass for myself. I didn't like the smell of it but I gulp it down in hopes it would calm my nerves from dashing out the room from the watching eyes.

"Lilac Lady?" a voice asks me. I was confused at who asked me but only Cavalry knew this nickname. I turned around and hugged him with all my might.

"I knew you wouldn't forget me" I say aloud pressing my face into his breasts.

Breasts? Uh-oh...

I look up from the person's breasts. The girl had light pale turquoise hair and a soft caring face too. She was wearing a blue coated dress and a black top hat with a similar blue ribbon. Her face looked really red with blushing embarrassment.

"Ah! I'm sorry I'm sorry! Forgive me!" I apologize stepping back. The girl was a bit frazzled until a orange haired boy comes over to us.

"Siune are you okay?" he asks placing a hand on her shoulder.

"No I uh, I'm fine it's alright" she says waving him off. "Your name is Lady Lilac right?"

"Er. Yes it is. Why do you need to know?" I ask in a surprise.

"Ah so you are. I'm a fa- friend of Cavalry." My eyes light up at his name.

"Do you know where he is?" I ask. "I sent him a note and all but I was worried that he wouldn't have seen it in time"

"Oh he seen it alright. He even asked us to join him too" Siune explains.

That's so nice of him. Wait..If Cavalry is a vampire, then his friend must be vampires too. Then that would mean.... 

"You're Vampires?!?!" I shout in surprise. A few people look at us because of my outburst.

"I'm sorry" the red haired boy says slipping in front of us. "She had a little too much to drink" he lies pushing us aside. "Are you trying to get us caught!?" he scolds.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to draw attention" I apologize. "I think it's the drink I had." He sighs and wipes his brow as he looks to the crowd.

"I'm sorry for his actions" Siune apologizes. "I think Cavalry is out by the pier" she says pointing to the door. "Klein, let's go dance for now" she says taking him by the hand to dance. I watch as they leave and begin to dance before heading out the back door.

It's been so long. Has he changed much? I hope...I can get a kiss from him this time.
