In New York

Elena followed Elijah into an underground garage. As she got out he suggested she come with him to his penthouse.

"Thank you, but I would like to stay in my grandmother's apartment. My friends are coming. It will be perfectly safe there. If you want your witches can make it double safe. Plus you probably already have vampires walking behind me like shadow bodyguards!?"-Elena said.

"Yes. I understand."-Elijah said simply-"as you wish."

"All right."-Elena then said ready to leave-"well, then, I am going to take the subway."

Elijah now simply noded. He was not pleased with her decision, but respected it.

Elena's phone buzzed and she looked at the message from Bonnie.

'At airport. Meet you soon. How are things with E?'

Elena replied-

'Fine. Meet you in an hour or so in the VB."

She now just gave him a look that said-I will see you later- and walked out of the garage.

When she got to the subway, she texted Sophie.

In Mystic Falls

"The witch left for New York."- Damon said.

Stefan poured himself a glass of Bourbon looking at his brother-

"Guess what? Klaus is in town! I hope you hid the box well."

"He can't touch anything Bennett, nor can any of his witches!"-Damon said-"Jenna's witch said so!"

"So, there's nothing for me here. I am leaving!"-Stefan put the glass down on the table-"see you, bro!"

And with that he swished out of the house.

"See you, too."- Damon muttered. He looked around the room- "Right. Time to blow"

Elsewhere

Caroline and Bonnie waited for Elena more than an hour at their most favourite place in New York.

"Finally!"- Caroline said to her when she appeared-"Did he give you permission to leave?!"

"He is not like that. He is actually really OK"- Elena said.

"So, all this is now cool? "- Caroline continued in her brisk manner.

"I will need to find some potion to mellow you down!"- Bonnie now directed the remark at Caroline "the wolf in you really makes you into a wicked witch!"

"And you are Glinda, right?!"- Caroline said.

"Shall we forget about vampires and werewolves tonight and go clubbing?!"- Elena then suggested- "I need time out!"

The other two women agreed in a flash.

"All right. Let's eat now and then it's partytime!"- Bonnie said- "and want the whole loadown on Elijah!"

"Yeah, Lena-how was the night at the lakehouse?!"- Caroline questioned.

"He is hot!" - Elena shit out-"And I shouldn't think of him in that way?!"- Elena said looking at her girlfriends with a chuckle.

"Wow- you're already in deep!"- Caroline said partly shocked that Elena fell for someone like over night.

"He was the perfect gentleman."- Elena now retold them how Elijah took care of her.

"Seriously?! No wonder you are off your head! Then again, he is a vampire not a regular guy- so all the myths about them prove to be real?!"- Caroline continued with the inquiery.

Elena then sighed- "Myth?! Aren't we living a myth?!"

"Ok! Enough!"- Caroline now said- "first some retail therapy and then we hit the clubs! I need time out from all this rocky horror show we fell into! Shall we?"

The witch, the werewolf and the mystical girl all agreed and went to try and shake off some of the events of the passed days.

In Elijah's penthouse

Freya and Elijah finished their lunch. Rose now came to serve them coffee as she shared more intel Elijah had ordered for her to uncover regarding Elena's parents.

Elijah put the usb in his computer with the police records about the accident.

He looked at the date of the accident and then at Rose, who said-

"I know it is a day after the Hybrid Moon."- Rose said, continuing-

"That is not all. Liz Forbes lied. Her husband is very much alive and now lives under a false identity. He has even changed his appearance with plastic surgery. Also, they are the descendets of the Clairemont royal werewolf bloodline."

"The name?"- Elijah now asked reffering to Bill Forbes.

"Cole Lewin."- Rose said.

"Mystic Falls has always been shrouded with so many secrets. Now we need to establish if it is the truth."

"I will need Caroline Forbes' blood!"- Rose said.

"Where are they now?"- Elijah referred to Elena and her friends.

"Having fun. Taking time off from the world."- Rose said and Freya now interrupted them.

"They are going out! Shall we go too?"

Elijah thought for a moment and then saw the fire in his sister's eyes, who had missed so much of a normal life. He nodded in agreement.

Freya now went to get ready for the night out as well. Elijah stayed behind, to read the  report. There was nothing extraordinary about it. It looked like an ordinary accident. But if you added the supernatural in the equasion, it was clear to the vampire that a witch was there looking for the witches' hearts.

Flashback- the event that lead to Gilbert family accident

Greyson walked into the woods and came to a point where Bill Forbes was waiting for him.

"Everything about the legend is true!" Greyson said to Bill-"Here. Will you now leave us alone?!!"

"Of course!"- Bill said. He now took hold of Greyson by the coat and looked stern into his eyes- "if you ever breathe a world about this to anyone I will kill you and all of your family! Are we clear! You know nothing about the legend, got it?!!"

"YES!"- Greyson said and gulped. Bill let him go, disappearing in the woods. Greyson was happy to see the back of Bill Forbes for good.

A week later, Greyson, Miranda and Jeremy were driving home from a neighbouring town, where like from nowhere a woman looking exactly like Elena appeared like from nowhere in front of the car, Greyson sweared in shock and the car went off into the river. The impact and the speed in conjuction made it impossible for the three of them to survive.

Katherine Pierce jumped in the river to make sure none of them survive. An hour later she called the witch-

"Celeste? Done. There was noone at the house."- Katherine said.

Later that night in the Club 22, New York

The three friends walked into the club as if they owned it. Their beauty, attitude and fearlesness about them made both man and women turn their heads.

Caroline went to grab some drinks for them. Elena just wanted to dance and forget about life. But it was only for a little while. She turned at one moment and through the crowd, flashin lights, she wasn't sure if her mind was playing a trick on her or she saw Elijah at the other side of the dance podium.

She now walked to the vampire. In his suit he looked so out of the place and yet it didn't matter one bit to her.  She was not surprised to see him. She knew that he was like her shadow she knew, but she wanted a night out. Away from the world. She was not a happy bunny.  The next second, she took him by the hand and without saying anything followed her. She could hear the lyrics drumming in her head as they got out of the club.

Elena's heart ran even more wilder now. They stood outside without saying anything. He could feel her anger mount up now.

"Can we not have one night just to let everything go? What now??"

"Nothing."- Elijah said.

"It's not nothing! Tomorrow you can lock me up and have all, but tonight I just want to let go!!"-

"Excuse me."- he then said. He understood her frustration for feeling that her life had been hijacked by fate and all that goes with it in the world of magic.

He turned away and as he wanted to swish away, he heard her say-

"Elijah"

He turned around.

Elena now just let her impulse take over and she now kissed the vampire.
