Tyler Lockwood walked into his parent's mansion and the first thing he saw was his mother pouring herself a large scotch. Nothing was different, he knew it. He had no illusions that his parents would work through their marital problems.

He greeted his mother.

"Tyler?!...You should have called-"-she said holding her arms out to give him a hug.

"Would it make any difference?"-Tyler said hugging his mother.

"I guess not"- she said and as he moved out of the hug she then said worried'" Please, don't argue with him!". She was referring to his father.

"Mom, I have only come to see you and get a few if my things.I will be crashing at Matt's"-Tyler said.

She looked at her son with teary eyes, but did't say a thing.  She gave him a peck on the cheek and then walked away taking a sip of her drink.

Tyler's heart chocked. He stood for a moment in the lavish living room. All that luxury and money didn't mean a thing to him. He then sighed and went up to his room.

In the woods, Liz and Sophie put John and Marcel in one of the cells in the caves, shackling them, so they wouldn't be able to escape.

Sophie sealed the cells with magic. The two women then left the place.

"When they come round I will investigate them."- Sophie said- "for now we will leave them."

"You said that John was inquiring about Elena?! He didn't know?"- Liz asked.

"He knew something, but not all of it. Greyson made sure he didn't."- Sophie said.

"Greyson assured me that he never told anyone who Elena really was!"- Liz said.

"He stumbled upon a book talking about Katerina Petrova. But then Elena was eleven, it's much later that he heard about the doppelganger story, but he didn't know all of it... we still don't know all of it. Apparently it is rumored that she has made sure that everything about her vanishes."

"But isn't she the one whose heart is necessary for breaking the curse of the Old vampire?!"- Liz asked.

"Yes. And last night we gave it to the Old vampire- his brother!!"- Sophie said.

"And yet that is not enough as it seems?!"- Liz said.

"No. There is so much more -and we don't know the whole story. Elijah has left, but his faithful vampire-girl is still hanging around. There is more! And I think last night was only the beginning of madness!"

"I will send Caroline to New York, and maybe Elena and Bonnie should go too!?"- Liz said.

"They are not safe wherever they go. I need to dig to find out what it is all about, so I can be ready to face it all when the push comes to shove!"- Sophie said.

"I don't like this one bit!"- Liz said.

"You are in this forever, but when you have a kid it is tough, right?!"- Sophie said.

Liz nodded.

She left Sophie at the Gilbert's house and went home. Sophie took her phone and dialed a number.

At Bonnie's,  Caroline was reeling having been told she was a werewolf.

"You got this all wrong... and all that sniffing of people is gross, did someone told you that,even though it's from a distance!"- Caroline spat at the vampire.

"I apologize, it wasn't very tactful of me, but- ahm...according to my research you come from a royal bloodline of werewolves from your mother's side."- Rose said.

The women wanted to know all about vampires and witches and the vampire now gave them an extensive account of the dark witches and the white witches, their feud and something called the balance of magic. Bonnie wasn't glad to hear that her line had a mix of both.

"Maybe that is why they kept it all from me- but why did she tell me now?! Because of that vampire who wants to kill Elena?"-Bonnie looked at Rose.

"Your families wanted...I guess hoped that you will not get involved in any of it"-Rose said.

"That is stupid"-Bonnie frowned.

"I guess, your mom realized who I was"-Elena then said-"maybe she didn't know?!"

"Maybe...but something tells me that we are all connected-"-Bonnie said.

Rose knew that it was so, but she kept quiet.

"Tell us!"-Caroline demanded looking at Rose.

"She won't. I tried"-Elena said.

"And we should believe that a vampire cares what happen to us and this is all normal, and we are drinking coffee with a vampire and we have to suck it up?!"-Caroline continued with her ratty mood-"a vampire drank from me?!"

"And he probably feels the after-effects of doing so!"-Rose then said.

"Oh, I hope he choked on it?!"-Caroline spat.

And it was so. Stefan didn't feel it immediately, but after a while, he felt extremely nauseous. He was throwing up blood as if he had food poisoning. These were the effects of werewolf blood on vampires.

"She is a werewolf, but I couldn't smell it- I wouldn't have drunk from her"-Stefan said laying down on the bathroom floor.

"Here...got some vervain-"-Damon passed him a mug of blood infused with a herb that was a werewolf antidote.

"Being back here only brings nightmare"-Damon said-"we should skip town"

As he said that he heard a vampiric motion sound and in front of them stood a blond vampire greeting them chirpily-

"Have I not told you what werewolf blood does to you?!"

"Lexi?"-Stefan exclaimed faintly.

"The one and only."-she said.

"What are you doing here?"-Damon shot at her, not too pleased.

"Hello to you, too?!"-Lexi said-"it took me ages to track you down. But if you don't want the info I got- I can leave"-as she was about to speed away, Damon stopped her.

"What do you know?"

Lexi playfully said -"Katherine Pierce is very much alive!"

"It's not Katherine...the woman you saw is called Elena"-Stefan said as he came down to the lounge.

"Oh, she calls herself that now?!"-Lexi said.

"We killed Katherine"-Damon said-"the woman you saw is a doppelganger- Stefan will explain!"

"Katherine talked to this witch about a doppelganger!"-Lexi then said.

"Enough of cryptic things- what do you know?! Katherine is not alive!"-Damon was losing his patience.

Lexi now told them about her nearly running into Katherine.

In the Mikaelson mansion, Freya made herself comfortable.

"It feels good here...lavish! Why build such a house here? You love New York!"-Freya said.

"I built houses all over the world- why not here?!"Elijah said.

"Because you hate this place"-Freya said frankly.

"This place has brought us nothing but misery! Nevertheless, why not be comfortable...you had none of it!"-Elijah said.

"If Katerina Petrova is alive, she is one smart woman. Escaping Klaus for so long."-Freya said.

"Yes. The witches have spun a web."

Five hearts remain yet to be found so we can break the curse off of you."-Elijah said.

"I am very hopeful- we already have a Bennett  witch."-Freya said.

Elijah 's phone buzzed and he read the message from Rose.

"Elena is with the Deveraux witch now."- he read out to Freya.

He replied to her -"Return to the house."

As the women disbanded, Caroline went to meet her mother. She wanted answers about their werewolf ancestry and why she was kept in the dark about this whole other life.

Liz hated that she couldn't keep that side of her family away from Caroline anymore.

"When you were born I had a witch spell you, so it never surfaces.'-Liz said.

Caroline looked at her mother as if she was a stranger to her.

"It looks like the spell had an expiry date!?"-Caroline said and left the house slamming the doors behind her.

For the first time in her life Liz felt helpless. She knew that this wouldn't be easy for her daughter and she remembered acting the same way when she found out that she had the werewolf gene.

"If you marry a werewolf, your son or daughter will become one-we are of the royal bloodine"- Liz's mother said to her.

In New Orleans, a very faithful minion reported to Klaus about Finn and his failure to get the Heart the werewolf needed.

"Elijah will do everything for our beloved sister!"- Klaus said-"it's time we pay our family a visit."

In the Gilbert house, Jenna tried to reason with Elena about her taking off without thinking what repercussions it could have had if someone unwanted got her.

"But you two cannot give me any answers- he is the only one that can...and he wouldn't have exchanged me if he needed me. I trust him, I don't know why- but I do! When I fainted last night he helped me!"-Elena said.

"He is a very charming looking man, but he is not a MAN!"-Jenna stressed out-"and he would have given you over for something he needed to whoever it was - it was good WE had what he wanted- can you imagine if it was another vampire?!"- Jenna continued in her furious manner.

"Ok- come on, now!"-Sophie tried to calm Jenna down.

"Your mom and dad and Jeremy were killed by them...it looked like an accident- but it wasn't an accident!"-Jenna said.

Elena, to whom the whole world already looked like it had turned upside down, this revelation came as a last straw. She now burst out of the house and jumped into her SUV driving away as fast as she could. She didn't care if she herself drove over the Wickery Bridge and drowned. She drove like crazy- but she needed time to herself and the place she had always went when she was down or sad but it was also a place where she spent the happiest time her parents- their lake house.

As she got out there, she went to the end of the pier and for a moment thought to jump in the ice-cold water, but she stopped.

She screamed out into the night.
