"so... i heard from ten and lucas you almost transformed our little hyuckie into a vamp..." jeno wiggled his brows teasingly at mark.

"shut the fuck up."

the boys were back to school and jeno, jaemin and mark were currently looking at renjun and donghyuck drawing a bit further in the school garden. jisung and chenle were also with them, but they were too busy kissing each other to care about whatever the other boys had to say.

"can't hold yourself back mark?" jaemin smirked.

"as if you could." mark mumbled.

"well. renjun is still human..."

mark scoffed. "yeah, but you two have each other." he said with a head motion towards them.

it was no secret that jaemin and jeno were now 'together'. there were always glued together and to renjun, and when they were home, it was frequent to open their room's door and see jeno and jaemin shamelessly making out fangs out.

"anyway, don't blame me. donghyuck is irresistible." mark said, looking at the boy who was rolling on the grass with heart eyes.

"tell me mark... how was his halloween costume?" jaemin asked, his smirk widening.

mark gulped, remembering the shock he had had the moment he had seen donghyuck entering the room. "amazing."

"and, you want to know how i convinced him to wear it?"

mark nodded, looking at jaemin.

"i told him you would love seeing him wearing such things."

mark blushed and looked at donghyuck who was smiling at him. mark shyly smiled back.

"whipped." jeno whispered, earning a punch in the shoulder from mark as donghyuck was back to running after renjun who had ruined his drawing by splashing paint over a corner of his paper.

the tanned male was too focused on his pursuit that he didn't notice a tall figure standing in front of him, causing him to bump into him and fall on the ground, his glasses flying somewhere in the process.

"hey! watch where you're going midget!" the man spat at donghyuck who patted the grass around him in an attempt to find his glasses. without them, the world looked like a piece of abstract art.

alerted by the sudden outburst, mark approached the crowd that was starting to form around the boy that had been bombed into. he didn't know what had happened, but what troubled him was that he couldn't see donghyuck anymore.

"aren't you going to excuse yourself?" the tall boy asked, kicking the boy on the ground, and that's when mark identified the boy who had been kicked.

he launched himself on the tall man, pinning him to the ground and punching his nose hard enough for it to bleed.

as the boy was groaning, mark turned around to help donghyuck up and to pick his glasses and put them on his nose.

"hey, hey, sunshine, don't cry, it's okay. i'm here. stop crying." he said, pressing the boy against his chest and caressing his nape.

"listen carefully to what i'm about to say!" mark exclaimed addressing to the crowd surrounding them. "if any of you dares touching my donghyuck once again, prepare to suffer..." he growled, fangs out to scare the people. "understood?" he yelled.

the people nodded slowly as mark pulled donghyuck up to carry him in his arms. the tanned male understood immediately and wrapped his legs around mark's waist, hiding his teary face in the crook of mark's neck.

and with that, mark left the crowd of people to join his group of friends back.

"what happened?" jeno asked seeing the state donghyuck was in.

"a senior yelled at him and kicked him." mark explained, setting the boy on jaemin's lap as the vampire who was his best friend was making grabby hands towards him.

"stop crying now hyuckie. mark took really good care of you." jaemin said next to his ear, making donghyuck nod.

mark and jeno looked at the two boys fondly, not realising that three other boys were next to them waiting for an answer to their question.

"i guess they're too deep in their thoughts to answer." chenle rolled his eyes.

"i don't understand anything though. i thought jaemin was with jeno. why is he with donghyuck?"jisung squinted his eyes.

"he's his best friend dumbass." renjun added. "which means jeno's lap is mine for the moment."

renjun walked to jeno, and without any warning, he sat directly on jeno's lap, startling the younger who gripped the chinese's waist at the sudden action.

"r-renjun?"

the chinese smiled. "i'm tired. and your lap is comfortable." he said, resting his back on jeno's torso.

mark wiggled his brows teasingly as jeno blushed and so did jaemin.

oh boy, they were whipped.

mark and donghyuck were walking to donghyuck's house side by side. it wasn't that late, but mark had insisted to bring donghyuck home. it was part of the 'protect donghyuck' deal.

don't blame him. he really didn't want anything to happen to his sunshine.

they were dangerously approaching donghyuck's house, and mark could see donghyuck slowing down more and more.

he was now 100% sure he liked mark. he had saved him again today, and donghyuck wondered how he could be alive if mark wasn't here in the first place.

he didn't want mark to leave. he wanted to stay with him. that's why he didn't want to arrive to his house. he didn't want to say goodbye to mark. he knew they would see each other tomorrow, but still...

"why did you stop?" mark asked, pulling donghyuck's hand and interwinding their fingers, making donghyuck blush.

"i-i..." donghyuck couldn't tell him. it was too embarrassing...

"are you hurt somewhere?" mark asked looking at donghyuck's legs.

"n-no. it's not that... it's just... i-i don't want you to leave me."

mark smiled. "i'm not going to leave you, sunshine. we're going to see each other tomorrow."

"i know, but... i want to stay with you..." donghyuck pouted.

mark pinched his nose. "stop being so cute..." he said. "i promise we'll stay together all-day tomorrow, okay? but for now, you have to go back home and spend a good time with your parents. after you'll have a good sleep and then we'll be tomorrow and i'll come and pick you up." mark smiled.

donghyuck nodded convinced by what mark had told him and started walking again.

they stopped soon after, just in front of donghyuck's house.

"this is my house." donghyuck said sadly.

"it's pretty. it fits you." mark smiled looking at the small house and then at the blushing male.

mark approached donghyuck, resting his hands on the tanned male's waist.

"goodbye sunshine. see you tomorrow." he said before planting a kiss on the boy's forehead.

donghyuck blushed even more before mumbling a small 'goodbye' and rushing towards his door.

however, halfway there, he turned around and ran back to mark.

"take care." he whispered before gently kissing mark's cheek making mark blush redder than ever.

and with this done, donghyuck disappeared into his house, screaming once the door was locked, completely oblivious about the fact that mark could perfectly hear the state of panic he was in because of this simple action.
