the seven boys were enjoying their meal at the canteen.
chenle and jisung hadn't told renjun and donghyuck yet, but they didn't want to hide their relationship either.
"is it me or did they just kiss?" donghyuck asked eyes focused on jisung and chenle who were in their own world.
"yeah, they got together yesterday night." jeno answered sipping on his blood patch.
"together? like, a couple?"
"yeah!" jaemin answered, facing donghyuck.
the tanned male backed off in fear causing him to fall from his chair. jaemin had almost eaten him alive not so long ago, and having him this close was a bit scary for the tanned male.
mark rose to his feet and helped donghyuck up.
"jeno, keep your vamp far from him. i don't want donghyuck to be harmed again." mark told jeno who rolled his eyes before passing and arm around jaemin's waist and pulling him closer to his body, far away from donghyuck.
"happy?" he groaned.
donghyuck got back on his chair and concentrated on eating his meal, stealing glances to chenle and jisung. they seemed happy. they were cute.
and one thing hit donghyuck.
thy didn't seem bothered by the fact they weren't both human.
jisung was a vampire, yet, he was still kissing chenle.
chenle was a human, yet, jisung was still kissing him.
the jisung he could see here looked nothing like a monster.
he actually looked perfectly human.
he was kissing his boyfriend, enjoying his time with his friends.
he had nothing of a monster.
why did donghyuck hate vampires again?
donghyuck diverted his eyes to jeno and jaemin who were sitting next to him.
jaemin was his best friend.
he hated vampires as well. and now, he was a vampire.
he had tried to eat him.
that was the proof vampires were dangerous.
that was the proof they were monsters.
that was the proof donghyuck should be scared of them.
but, he couldn't.
when donghyuck looked at them right now, he only saw two harmless teenagers. two friends.
they were looking at renjun with heart eyes. both. they both had the same goofy smile, the same tint of red on their cheeks... and jeno still had his arm around jaemin's waist.
something was going on between the three boys.
they were not monsters.
far from that actually.
finally, donghyuck looked at mark, only to find him already looking at him.
he had a shy smile on his face, and he was looking at donghyuck as if he was the most beautiful thing that existed.
how could donghyuck ever be scared of him?
how could donghyuck ever hate him for being a vampire?
actually, did mark choose to be a vampire? did he decide to be one in the first place? or had he been transformed against his will, like jaemin?
that's when donghyuck realised he could have been wrong from the beginning.
perhaps, he called monster people that were forced to become things that they hated.
"i-i am the real monster..." he whispered when the realisation hit him.

"we're going back home." jeno declared. "bye guys."
"wait, wait, wait!" chenle stood in front of the four vampires. "i wanted to have a little conversation with the humans."
the vampires exchanged a look. "hyuck is not leaving with us though." jeno raised a brow.
"can jaemin stay as well?" chenle asked with puppy eyes.
"i'll stay as well then." mark said.
"NO!" chenle yelled before slamming a hand over his mouth. "i mean... i really need only hyuck and jaemin..."
"but we can't leave jaemin alone with two humans." mark explained.
"then... jeno?" chenle looked at the older expectantly.
"if you want." the boy shrugged. "by the way, where's renjun?"
"he had something to do with felix." donghyuck answered, eyes on his phone.
two of the vampires' jaws clutched.
"don't worry, felix is taken." chenle added. "bye sungie. bye mark. see you tomorrow." he added kissing his boyfriend on the lips and dragging the two vampires and donghyuck elsewhere.
"so, why did you bring us here?" jeno rolled his eyes.
chenle gasped. "cover your ears! i don't want you to hear what i want to say to my friends."
"i am a vampire, i have a very developed hearing dumbass."
"anywayyyyy!" chenle started, too loudly for everyone's liking. "i know you guys hate vamps, but you better find yourselves vampire boyfriends, because that's the hottest thing on earth." chenle told.
donghyuck flushed at the comment.
"like seriously, when i kiss jisung, i feel his fangs, and that's one of the biggest turns on ever like woah!" chenle continued.
"well done chenle, you just ruined donghyuck's innocence..." jaemin sighed looking at donghyuck who was as red as a tomato, too busy looking at his feet to understand they were talking about him.
"he'll be like that with mark in a few..." jeno rolled his eyes. "he has a huge sub vibe."
"you know who else has a huge sub vibe?" jaemin turned towards jeno.
"i swear that if you say that it's me, i'll- "
"renjun."
jeno blushed, not expecting that answer at all. "y-yeah."
"i'm not bothering you too much, am i?" chenle piped in, breaking their staring contest. "so, i was saying, jaemin and donghyuck, find yourself a vamp boyfriend, it's the best thing ever."
"i don't want a vamp boyfriend. i want a renjun." jaemin whined.
"i want a renjun as well." jeno added.
"have you ever wondered how good it would feel like you just... sink your fangs into his neck and taste his blood and... i don't know, only thinking about it is giving me goose bumps." jaemin explained.
jeno nodded in approval. "hell yeah. i don't know how i manage to hold myself back."
"same."
"it gets kinky here..." chenle rolled his eyes.
"go suck the fangs of your boyfriend and stop bothering us." jaemin growled. "donghyuck, you lost your tongue?"
"he's imagining himself with mark." jeno giggled in jaemin's ear, loud enough for the tanned male to hear, causing him to flush even more.
yes, that's what he was doing and yes, he had been exposed.
but why did he like the idea of him and mark kissing? of mark sinking his fangs in his neck?
was he starting to consider vampires could be friendly – or even lovely – creatures?
the answer was a big fat yes.
