the 11 vampires of the nct clan based in seoul were around the table, and, sitting with them was na jaemin, the new comer. it was 3a.m., the room was perfectly silent.

"is someone going to talk or..."

"jeno shut up." taeyong spat. "you're the last one who has a word to say now."

jaemin smiled in victory. he really hated jeno now, and seeing him being told to shut up was pleasant.

jaemin didn't really feel comfortable surrounded by vampires. not that they were scary. actually, it was rather hard for him to believe that some of them were actually part of the clan because of their soft looks.

"jaemin." one of the boys, his name was jaehyun if jaemin remembered well, called him. "we're very sorry this happened to you."

"yes, we really didn't see anything coming..." johnny added glaring at jeno.

"it's... no biggie..." jaemin sighed making all the vampires stare at him.

"no biggie?" jungwoo repeated. "are you kidding? i literally heard you crying hours ago, begging for jeno to kill you."

"yeah, but what can we do?" jaemin asked. "i'm a vampire now. so, yes, i hate vampires, yes, i think they are monsters... but now that i am one, i'll have to bear it and live with it."

"this boy is brave. we should keep him." taeil whispered in doyoung's ear as the younger nodded in approval.

"jaemin, you're a good boy, there's no doubt." taeyong said with a smile. "please be careful. your life won't be the same from now on."

"i know..."

"for the moment i'll let you go to your house to see your parents. taeil, doyoung, will you bring him please? do not leave his side."

as soon as the three vampires left the house, all the eyes stared at jeno.

"lee jeno. you messed up big time."

"i know." jeno sighed. "can you stop talking about it."

"first wanna one coming for our territory..." johnny told.

"second mark and his hormones..." taeyong added.

jeno raised an eyebrow in mark's direction but the older only shrugged it off.

"and now this." ten finished.

"don't you think we have enough problems jeno?" taeyong asked.

the young male didn't answer.

"you'll take care of the newbie. you'll be the one to make sure he won't harm any human, and you'll teach him to use his powers." taeyong told.

"what? no. i hate him."

"do i look like i care?" taeyong raised a brow.

as jeno didn't answer, taeyong spoke again. "look, you told me you would find humans that could provide us blood to drink... i didn't see any human yet."

"the human jeno is thinking about is the reason why jeno and jaemin hate each other." jisung piped in. "they both took interest in him."

"so... if i sum up the situation, none of you actually have a human to drink blood from?"

mark sighed. "exactly."

"you're not with jaemin?" chenle asked seeing donghyuck arriving alone when he usually walked to school with jaemin.

thinking about what mark had told him the night before, donghyuck sighed. "he'll come with the vampires."

"why?" renjun and chenle widened their eyes.

"you'll see."

as if on cue, four boys appeared behind donghyuck, three of them being the weel known vampires and the fourth one being their friend, na jaemin, with red eyes and cute fangs.

"hey nana." donghyuck waved at him as chenle and renjun stared at the new jaemin.

"v-vampire? y-you're a vampire?" chenle asked mouth agape.

"yes, jeno turned me into one." jaemin rolled his eyes at the mention of the other's name.

chenle excitedly approached his friend and pulled his neck to look at his eyes closely and then opened his mouth to check his fangs.

"it's so cool!" he yelled, bouncing up and down.

"i'm glad someone is happy..." jaemin raised a brow before facing renjun who was still shocked.

the new vampire approached his crush and hesitantly pulled him in a hug. he didn't tighten the embrace because he didn't know how to control his powers yet and he didn't want to crush renjun's bones, but he was really glad when he felt renjun tightening it himself. jaemin let go after a while to look at renjun. he smelt so good, like, jaemin could stay like that all day, just smelling renjun. jaemin could feel renjun's heart beating. it was crazy. it was beating in his ribcage, at a fast pace, and blood was going in and out. blood. a lot of blood actually. that's what smelt that good. blood. renjun's blood. maybe jaemin could taste it?

"okay, that's it for today." jeno said, pulling jaemin away before the new vampire could even approach his fangs from renjun's skin.

"don't touch him or i crush your arm." jeno threatened in jaemin's ear, tightening his grip on his arm.

"i hate you for taking him away from me." jaemin growled back.

"we're going to class. you're coming jaem?" renjun asked to which jaemin smiled brightly before being pulled back by jeno.

"i'm sorry guys, but i'm assigned as jaemin's 'guardian' to keep you all safe, so i'll have to stay with you as well." jeno added, smiling falsely at jaemin.

"cool!" chenle yelled. "that means jisung will stay with us as well?"

jisung blushed, making mark laugh. "i-i guess."

"you'll be staying too?" donghyuck asked shyly, standing close to mark.

"if that's what you want..."

donghyuck shook his head a bit too much, causing his glasses to fall down, hopefully, mark was there to catch them and put them back on his nose.

"then i'll stay by your side." he said, bopping donghyuck's nose with his finger.

and so, they headed to class, donghyuck with red cheeks, secretly enjoying the fact that mark was with them. sure, he was a vampire, but donghyuck had to admit that he was a sexy vampire.

"guys, guys, guys!" daniel entered the living room laughing. "you won't guess what donghyuck told me."

"spill the tea." jaewhan raised his head from his phone.

all the boys stopped their activities to listen to daniel. "jeno transformed jaemin into a vampire. and now they got a newbie on the arms."

laughers erupted in the room.

"nct outdid themselves this time..." daewhi said.

"so... daniel..." jisung spoke between laughs. "you still want to attack? or do you agree that we should wait for something even more unusual to happen?"

"let's wait." daniel said with a laugh.
