Immortality
"Immortality is a curse."
The Spirit muttered these words as he kneeled in solitude, in the ruined grand cathedral of ash.
"It is a travesty. An abhorrent violation of the natural cycle of existence.
No living thing should live eternally. Not beasts or men. Kings or gods."
The Spirit stands up, still facing away from you.
"I am immortal, you see. I know well the consequences of being unable to die."
"In truth, I am a wretched being. A living example of the tragic fate that immortality leads to."
"All immortals shall meet this fate as well. It cannot be escaped."
"They cannot escape it... Unless they open their eyes and come to know the Great Truth of this world."
