Chapter 7: Foraged in Flames

The snow crunched underpaw as Valor and Yrsa followed Gunnr home. Argent trailed behind slowly, lingering in the back on shaky legs.

Atreus stayed close to Valor's side as they walked, the tom's ears back in deep thought. Yrsa glanced with her good eye over to them, a small frown on her face.

The light had proven to be something that couldn't be stopped. Gunnr explained that she had just left Neflhiem and was on her way home when the fire spewed out like a geyser. A jet of fire coming deep within Helhiem's depth escaping from one realm into another.

"It explained the Helwalkers," Atreus had muttered when finished explaining. Without Hel, the souls of the damned were restless and escaping, having no deity to help sooth their rage and angry spirits. Did the Helwalkers even know what they were doing? They were like mindless zombies, no life behind their eyes, no once of mortality in them.

Kratos had gone up the mountain when the fire first erupted, but an unfortunate turn of events made them unable to follow him. Atreus was deeply worried for his father, his unfocused gaze said it all. Gunnr had found them, and had suggested them all go home.

So now, after finishing crossing over the frozen lake, they trekked through the last few paces before getting home.

Rustling in the bushes captured all of their attention. Out from a bush, a small molly jumped out. Her fur was white, light gray socks, mask, and a faded stripe down her back. A gold sun necklace around her neck.

"Halt! This is Godling territory! You better leave before I scratch your ears off!" she meowed, her chest puffed out to try and appear intimidating.

The five came to a stop, looking at the cat with surprise. Gunnr stepped forward, her head low as her wings lifted slightly from her sides.

"Who are you?" Gunnr asked. The molly smirked.

"Kiran! Granddaughter of Sunna, and one day, the best warrior the Gods will ever meet."

Yrsa looked over to Valor and Argent. "Wait, Seneca just had her kits, they shouldn't be this old yet... unless we were gone longer than we realized..." Yrsa spoke, her voice bewildered.

Kiran dropped the act, looking to Yrsa with wide eyes. "You know my mom?" she asked.

Yrsa and the others nodded. "Yes, we are Godlings too. Except Atreus. Gunnr too, but she's a Valkyrie."

Kiran opened her mouth to ask more questions, before out from the bushes was a familiar black and white pelt. Golden rings adorned him, but the same 'higher than thou' expression still on his face.

François looked to the five, giving a small smile. "Oh! You all are alive and back! How was the trip?" He asked.

Kiran looked at him with wide eyes. "Wait, François, you know them?" she asked, her tail flicking behind her quickly.

François nodded. "Of course I know them!" his eyes landed on Atreus, and his ears pinned back instantly, "and their friend, unfortunately."

Gunnr stepped forward again, flapping her wings slightly to get everyone's attention. "We can all talk later. Let's get everyone back to camp and get settled in. Is Sigrun here?"

François shook his head. "No, she hasn't been here since you and here ran off to wherever you went. Why?"

"I needed to speak with her. I'll talk to the other Valkyries in Camp then and see what we can do about the light. But for now, I want everyone to head back to camp. I don't care it's early, we've been walking for hours and need a short rest. C'mon."

A loud booming voice was heard announcing Fimbulwinter has arrived. A discussion chain will be place for everyone to discuss what this means and what to do.

Valor, Yrsa, and Argent have returned to camp, and with them, Atreus has returned as well.

Kara is back in Camp with a Dwarf by the name of Flint. They both have settled in nicely. Flint said to give him a few days to set up his forage and he'll make special equipment for everyone!

Rota is visiting the camp! As a greeting, she has offered to help hunt and gather supplies with others. She will randomly join patrols from time to time to help.

There is now an Activity Chain!

Bristle found a Rune last moon!

Nix gave birth to two kits! Unfortunately, one kit didn't make it. Kit 1 will need to be buried. Kit 2 will be played by Ze_Owl
