Chapter Eleven
Nala Keeps Me Company

3rd Person POV

val stared at her ceiling as the sun shined through the window but she didn't move. she couldn't move. nothing would help, she couldn't do anything

she heard a knock on her door and she looked around before she opened it and was met with her moms

"hi" val whispered and they knew something was wrong

"val hey what's going on?" allison asked and they walked over as they sat down and rubbed her shoulders

"milo knows we're here, he found me and told me to watch my back. i can't deal with him mom, everyone thought that i was crazy i can't go through that again" she cried and sophia wrapped her arms around her

"we have never found you crazy, he's going to stay away from you. we will make sure of that do you understand?" sophia stated and val nodded her head

"elisia , that rowan girl and someone else are here they said they wanted to check on you. do they know about milo?" allison questioned

"yeah there's um more to the story now and once all of this is over i promise you that i will tell you. please send them up" val stated and they both nodded

"we'll go get them, we love you kiddo" sophia stated and she she kissed val's forehead before she grabbed allison's hand and they stood  up

"val hey" hailey said not long after and val looked up at her and the others

they sat down with her and rowan leaned her head against val as elisia did too

" We know other people are trying to prove themselves to king cobra. Someone almost killed rowan last night, so we have to be extra careful" hailey stated

" Yeah if it wasn't for elisia" rowan spoke and val sighed as she leaned her head against them too

" Why haven't we heard anything from kingcobra? But if he knows we faked your death?" hailey asked val

" It hasn't even been 24 hours. If we don't hear from him by tomorrow, we tell my dad everything" rowan stated and they all nodded in agreement before they leaned on the bed

"hey v, is it boring here?" she asked and val nodded

"i mean i have to pretend to be dead, i have to keep the lights off and nala is keeping me company" she said and nala lifted her head up from the floor as they all smiled at her

"hi nala" she spoke and nala jumped on the bed and onto her as she smiled and they all pet her

"hey v , i think i finished our project or at least my part of it" elisia said and she lifted her head as she looked at her

"yeah i did too" she stated and she smiled at her

"what did you write?" elisia asked and val got up from her bed as they all watched , she walked over to her bag and she pulled out the notepad before she looked at them

"elisia brown is one of the sweetest women i know. she protects her best friends and even her girlfriend rowan, elisia never forced me to say what i was feeling. she always waited for me to speak and she never pushed. she's sweet and caring. even though she lost her family, she loves everyone like they are family because that's the kind of person she is. she is a caring beautiful person who deserves the world and nothing less" she exclaimed and elisia felt tears in her eyes as she looked at val and smiled

"val i, i don't know what to say" she said and val smiled as she walked over and wiped elisias tears

"you don't have to say anything, now what did you write about me?" she asked and they all laughed as elisia grabbed the book from her bag and looked at her

"alright valerie melina owens is one of the most caring people in the world. she doesn't care about rumors or lies or what anyone has to say about the people she cares about, she knows what she knows. valerie takes care of her family more than anyone i know. her moms sophia and allison owens are two of the most sweetest women in the world. i've never seen someone love so much. she cares about me and rowan as her girlfriends , she has never made us feel less than worthy of love. valerie loves her family more than anything. she loves the movie lion king and her dog nala is her best friend. she's gone through a lot but at the end of the day, she's still strong and still willing to let people in" elisia read and she looked at val and then rowan as they both smiled

"so you three are dating? this is a polyamorous thing?" hailey asked and they all turned to her

"yeah i guess we just decided to make it official, we don't know how much time we have left and well we need to live it with or without fear" rowan said and they all nodded in agreement before rowan's phone went off

'meet me at the zoo party. tonight. 316 1st street' rowan read and she looked at them

"i gotta go" rowan said and they all nodded

"let's hope this goes well" val spoke and elisia nodded

" i don't like this" elisia exclaimed and she nodded

"none of us do but i have to stay here, i'll be fine and we'll be okay. i just have to hide and it'll be fine" val said and rowan walked forward as she kissed her

"in case it doesn't end well" rowan spoke and val nodded as hailey handed the mask to rowan and put on her

"be safe rowan" she said and rowan nodded as she left the building , not long after hailey left and elisia went home. val laid on her bed before she walked over and closed her curtains. she shut off all of lights but it wasn't enough

she went and turned on the record player on her room as she put it on low and laid down on her bed holding nala. the house phone destroyed to ring and she picked it up

"they know val" was all that was said before the call ended and val shivered in fear

"FUCK" she yelled and she threw the house phone

she turned on her phone but she stayed at home . she got a text from king cobra and she opened it

'we thought you were dead' the text read and she looked around as she saw a picture of her closing her curtains. she stared in fear as she looked around her house

'soon you will be' the next text read and she looked around again before she heard the cock of a gun and then she felt it. she looked down and there was blood spreading throughout her stomach

the front door opened and in ran elisia as she stared down at her in fear

"NO NO VAL PLEASE NO PLEASE" she cried and she called . her only worry was her and rowan's girlfriend
