Town Pariah

3rd Person POV

the next day val got up and got ready for school. she had decided to miss first period, it was stupid and boring anyway. she walked downstairs as she turned to her speaker and put on music

she made breakfast as she started to blast the music. luckily her moms were gone, she danced around the kitchen as she made breakfast. she sat down at the counter and stared at her phone before she sighed and opened the flash

' i thought we warned you' the text said with a picture of her house and she covered her mouth with her hand before she ran to the bathroom and threw up . her stomach felt like it was twisting and she was horrified

what had she done to deserve this? she didn't do anything and she was scared. StartLake hadn't been the best to her either, they treated her horribly there. nobody believed her when she told them what her ex boyfriend did to her

nobody listened , nobody cared and she had to fight for herself and what she needed. he was popular and white and a straight a football player with a big and bright future ahead of him and well, her? she was the daughter of two lesbians while she was polyamorous and you can guess who they believed

she laid there on the bathroom floor for the next twenty minutes before she got up and brushed her teeth. she was going to get through the day no matter what

she got dressed and she locked nala in her crate before she walked to school. rowan hadn't even came and knocked on the door this morning. val got to school and she walked in before she looked around and waited for the bell to ring.

when it did, elisia walked out of the class and she looked at val who was leaning against the wall with her headphones slightly
plugged in

"val hey you're late" elisia said and val looked up at her and elisia noticed the pure fear in her eyes but val noticed the fear in hers. why were they so scared? they shouldn't be scared of a school but it was more than that, it had always been more then that

it was the people, the people were bad. they didn't care, they didn't listen and the only time they would was when you would have to force them too.

"yeah hi" val spoke and elisia looked her over as she noticed the blood on her palms and the crescent shaped holes in her hands from her nails digging in

"are you okay?" elisia asked and val shook her head

"no i um there was someone, they took a picture of my house: told me to watch who i talk to" val shivered and elisia ran her hands up and down her arms in comfort for not only herself but for val

"what was their tag?" elisia asked

"ragingrhino" val said and elisia sighed

"there's a lot you don't know about this. i'll explain it to you later tonight at your house, we have to get to class now though val" she said and she nodded

"yeah i know i'll see you later eli" she exclaimed and she walked away from elisia as she started to walk towards her house

"val hey wait up" brynn called and val looked behind her as she stopped walking , she looked down at brynns shoes and she shivered in fear, val was an observer. she looked away too much into things and she hated it. those shoes, they were in the picture

brynn was ragingrhino but val wouldn't tell her she knew that. she couldn't tell her. brynn knew where val lived, she knew her past. she knew why val moved here, she knows what happened with her ex and val was horrified but she would let her know.

"hi brynn" she said and brynn started to walk next to her but val
kept their distance. if she got too close, who knew what brynn would do and val was scared of her

"you were late today" brynn spoke and val shrugged as they walked to their class together

"yeah i guess i just didn't want to show up, slept in late" she spoke and brynn nodded

"something happen last night?" brynn asked and val shrugged

"yeah you could say that, we have to go brynn" she said and she walked into class as she sat down and away from brynn. she wouldn't look at her but she stared at her shoes. brynns shoes, the shoes that she wore when she showed up and took a picture of her house

val put her earbud back in and ignored the rest of the class. she couldn't stop looking at brynns shoes. she didn't listen to the teacher but when the bell rang, she got up and put all of her things back in her bag and she got up

she continued through out the day with her headphones in and ignoring people. she didn't want anyone to bother her but she was scared and she needed to tell elisia what she knew

she walked home and found elisia waiting

"we need to talk" elisia stated and val nodded as she opened the door and let her in

"do you know who ragingrhino is?" elisia asked as they sat down on the couch and val nodded

"it's brynn, they have the same shoes and nobody else has the same type of shoes. i saw the end of her pant leg too. it's brynn but why are they chasing me? why am i involved?" val stated

"because of me , rowan and hailey. a lot happened before you showed up and i um i'll just have to show you where it began" elisia said and she brought out her phone as she showed her the video and then explained everything

"i'm involved because i'm friends with you?" val questioned

"yeah because you're friends with us, val they will find your secrets and they will use them against you to the very end" elisia said

"i came here because of my ex boyfriend, all i can say is that he tried something and i beat him pretty bad, he was in the hospital with a broken jaw , arms and legs. he was almost dead, not breathing and i did it. i got expelled but he was the quarter back, he was perfect. everybody hated me, i became the town pariah" val said and elisia pulled up something on her phone

"what do we know about the zoo?" elisia asked and val shrugged

"absolutely nothing but we have to find out who and what they want eli" she said and elisia nodded

" i have to go but we can talk more about me some other time. sorry for ruining our plans" she said and val shrugged

"you didn't , at least i know more" val exclaimed and elisia grabbed her stuff as she left the house and val locked everything again. her moms would be home later so she was okay

at least she kind of knew why she was involved but it was everything and she was scared, even more frightened now
