Chapter Two
How Did You Know...

3rd Person POV

val went to sleep that night with a smile on her face and the music playing lowly on her speaker. at 6:15 am , her alarm clock went off and she rose out of bed and opened her curtains. she looked out of her windows and noticed that her moms cars were gone, they had already gotten new jobs. that was apart of the reason they moved, val moved around her room as she grabbed her clothes and walked to the bathroom

she changed and then as she walked out of the bathroom, she heard a bark downstairs and walked down to see nala sitting there in her crate waiting for her

"nala! hey baby!" she called and she walked over to the crate as she unlocked it and let her outside. she opened the back door and let her out before she walked to the front and opened it. she hasn't gotten the mail from yesterday and it was waiting there for her

"val hi!" someone called and she looked up to see rowan standing there waving

"oh hey" she called and rowan walked over as she looked around the road and stood in front of val

"so this is where you live?" rowan said and val nodded

"want to come in?" she asked and rowan nodded as she ran in and nala came running to her

"oh this is nala, she won't hurt you" val said and rowan knelt down as she pet nala and then smiled brightly

"do you want to walk to school with me?" rowan questioned and val nodded

"yeah i was just going to eat and put nala in her crate and then walk there if you want to wait" she spoke and rowan nodded as she sat at the counter and looked around

"so val" rowan said as val got out the bread and plugged in the toaster

"yeah what's up?" she asked as she went to the fridge and took out the butter

"you and elisia are working on this project together right?" she asked and val nodded as she put the bread into the toaster and push down the button

"yeah why?" she questioned

"i just um elisia told me what you told her and like how did you know that you were polyamorous?" she questioned and val laughed as she sat down on the other side of the counter

"i um i guess i just always knew, i liked this girl once but she had a girlfriend and they both liked me and so they wanted to try it out. i've never been in any other relationship then polyamorous. i was bullied for it a lot" she spoke and rowan nodded

"is that why you understand the blood balloons?" she pushed accidentally

"it's apart of it yeah" she exclaimed and roman nodded as the bread popped up and she grabbed it as she quickly put the butter on it and ate it

"let me put her in her crate then we can go" val said and she turned to nala

"come on sweetheart crate time" she spoke and nala walked to her crate as val kissed her forehead and locked her in

"alright let's go" she exclaimed and she grabbed her bag as rowan grabbed hers and they left the house. val locked the door as she turned to rowan and clipped her house keys to her belt loop

"hey can i have your number?" rowan asked out of nowhere and val smiled

"yeah and can you give it to elisia so i can text her about the project?" she questioned and rowan nodded as val got out her phone and rowan got out hers

they handed it to each other and sent a text to make sure it was in their contacts as they got to the school

"alright bye val" rowan said and val smiled

"bye rowan" she spoke and she started to walk to class as a girl run up behind her and spoke

"valerie is it?" brynn asked

"yeah and you're brynn" val said and brynn nodded

"i am" she said and they started to walk to class together

"i heard that you moved here from a different state, new time zone and everything how is it?" brynn asked

"wow things get around fast here don't they?" val said and brynn nodded

"yeah they do, heard you met rowan and elisia" brynn spoke and val nodded

"i did , me and elisia are doing the project together and rowan is my neighbor" val exclaimed

" i would watch out for them, they're kind of psychotic" brynn said and val scoffed

"says the girlfriend of the guy who threw a blood balloon at someone but thanks for the advice, i gotta go" val said and she walked away from brynn as quickly as she could

"val wait up" elisia called and she slowed down as she turned around and looked at her

"rowan gave me your phone number by the way" elisia said and val smiled

"oh i'm glad, i told her too" val said and elisia smiled but val's phone buzzed and she pulled it out of her pocket as she looked down and saw a text from m0nk3ym4nnn

"hey el" she spoke and elisia looked at her

"yeah?" she asked and val handed her the phone as elisia stared at it

"do you know who this is?" elisia asked and val shook her head

"i have no idea, this is the second thing he sent. last night he sent me something but i didn't look at it and now there's this" she spoke and elisia nodded

"hey how about you come over this weekend? my cousin is leaving tomorrow and rowan will be there , but i'd feel comfortable with you there too now" elisia said and val nodded

"yeah of course i'll be there" she exclaimed and she walked to class as she sat down and looked around

"val" someone called and she looked over to see brynn

"i really don't want to talk to you" she spoke and she turned back towards the front as she listened to the teacher and what he had to say

"valerie please" she said and she shook her head as she waited for the bell to ring. she got up and left the class as brynn met up with brandon and brandon looked at brynn and then valerie

"really the new girl" he asked and brynn shrugged

"she's just angry, she had to move here for a reason" she stated and val went throughout the whole day going to her classes until the bell rang and she left the school

she walked home and went up to her room as she looked at her phone and heard it buzz

'i thought we were going to work today' elisia texted

'tomorrow, i'm sorry' valerie replied and elisia sighed as she stared at her phone

' i get it, hard day?' elisia asked

'something like that' she responded and she felt a buzz as she answered it and was met with a picture of her at her old school with her ex but she was bloody and he was bleeding

"watch who your friends with" the text said and valerie shivered

"what the fuck?" she exclaimed and she rolled over in her bed as she wrapped the blanket around her and stared at the ceiling

god she wasn't  prepared for anything
