Chapter One
Valerie but you can call me Val

3rd Person POV

"mom why are we moving?" valerie asked sophia as she packed up her things into a box and looked at her. sophia sat down and sighed

"val, you know why" she said and val nodded

"we have quite the drive kid, let's go" allison spoke as she stood in the doorway and valerie nodded as they grabbed the last box and left

2 hours of a drive later, they got to their new town and went to their house. valerie unpacked and the next morning, she woke up and got dressed. she left for school and sighed as she walked in and looked around

"jesus this'll be fun" she said and she turned when she heard a voice

"hey new girl" someone said and she looked at them

"um hi, who are you?" she asked in confusion

"trevor and you are?" he said with a smirk on his face

"valerie but you can call me val" she stated and he nodded

"well it was nice to meet you val" he turned heel and walked away as she shook her head

"odd" she spoke and then she continued to walk before she heard a noise and laughing

"oh what the fuck?" she exclaimed and she walked towards the noise as she looked at a girl covered in fake blood and with a scared look on her face

she turned and watched as everyone laughed at her and then she looked at the two boys who threw it. trevor and ? and there was a girl but she didn't know who the other guy was and she didn't know the girl either 

val didn't know the full story but in her case, she was bullied. she went through horrible shit like this and nobody ever stood up for her. not even her closest friends but that was okay because she would be that for this girl

"hey, rowan. that's a good look on you" trevor said

"yeah looks familiar huh?" sean called and valerie turned to him

"hey asshole shut the fuck up" val said and she followed after rowan  to the bathroom

"LOSER! LOSER! LOSER!" they all started to chant and valerie looked at all of them and she ran to the bathroom after rowan and leaned against the wall

"are you okay?" valerie asked as she watched rowan wipe the fake blood of her face

"i um yeah yeah i'll be alright" rowan stated and valerie shook her head

"i have a shirt if you need it" she exclaimed and rowan turned to her

"who are you?" rowan asked and valerie smiled as she opened her bag

"valerie owens but you can call me val. why do they do that?" valerie asked as she handed rowan the shirt

"you don't know?" she asked and val shook her head

"no i just moved here like last night, i haven't exactly gotten to know people but since i followed you in here and they all watched. i might be a new target for them" she spoke and rowan sighed as she took off her shirt and put on val's

"thanks" she said and valerie nodded

"i get it you know" she exclaimed and rowan looked at her through the mirror

"what do you mean?" she asked and valerie sighed as she leaned against the wall and stared at rowan

"i um something happened at my old school. blood balloons and bullying wasn't the worst thing that happened to me" she stated and rowan sighed

"so you understand" rowan said and val nodded

"yeah but i um im here for you if you ever need anything" valerie stated and she closed her bag

"oh im rowan by the way" rowan called and valerie smiled

"nice to meet you rowan" she exclaimed and she left the bathroom as she walked to her first class and sat down

"hi valerie" trevor said and val didn't turn to him , she didn't even give him the satisfaction

"oh are you mad? friends with rowan already? she's crazy you know" trevor said and she scoffed

"i truly don't give a fuck, you're obviously an asshole and i don't fuck with people like that" she stated

"oh you and rowan are truly alike then" he said and she shrugged

"trevor leave her alone" someone said and she looked up to see a girl standing there

"go away elisia" he said and she scoffed

"stop harassing her" elisia said and she sat down on the other side of her as val smiled

"sorry about him" elisia exclaimed as she looked at val and val looked at her

"it's alright, you know rowan?" val asked and elisia chuckled with a soft smile

"yeah she's my girlfriend" elisia said and val was taken aback but she smiled brightly

"wow that's really cool, i'm happy for you two" she spoke and elisias smile brightened

"i thought you would be weirded out" elisia took a deep breathe as val shook her head

"no no i'm polyamorous with girls" val said and elisias eyebrows rose

"that's good to know" she said and they turned to the front as their teacher started to talk

"so as it is the beginning of the year, you are going to be put into pairs of two for a project" the teacher started and val nodded

"what i want you to do for this project, is get to know each other , everything that you can and will share do it. you will at the end write a paper about each other and what if you have learned" she exclaimed

"so the pairs are brynn & brandon, mattheo & sean, leo & carter, elisia & valerie" she exclaimed and val smiled at elisia before she looked over and noticed the girl brynn with brandon

"oh that's brandon's girlfriend brynn, she's kind of a big deal around here" elisia said

"yeah she was with them when they threw the balloon at rowan" val said and brynn looked over at her and waved but val looked away and shook her head

"so where would we be working?" elisia asked and val smiled

"i have to unpack some things at my house but we can definitely do it there" she said and elisia nodded with a smile

"okay well should we start tonight or tomorrow?" elisia questioned

"i think tomorrow might be the best elisia" val said and elisia smiled gratefully

"i'll see you later val" she said and the bell rang as class ended and val smiled at elisia as she grabbed her stuff and left the class. she walked to class and she sat down next to rowan and smiled

"hi rowan" she said and rowan smiled

"hi val" she spoke and they sat there as they talked

"so elisia texted me , told me that you met her" rowan said and val nodded

"yeah i met her, we're working together on this project" she stated and rowan nodded

"and you know about me and her?" rowan continued

"yes rowan and i'm okay with it" she said and they sat there for the rest of the class until the end of the day when they left and val went home

she walked inside and looked at her moms with a smile

"hi honey" sophia said and val smiled

"hi mom, i have to unpack but i'll be back down later" she said and she kissed their cheeks before she walked up to her room and unpacked her speaker

she connected her phone to it as she started to play amy and then she unpacked everything before she heard her phone buzz and she picked it up

'from m0nk3ym4nnn' the phone read and she shrugged

"weird" she spoke before she put it down and continued to unpack

if only she had known what was coming when that text came through

yes i made it so rowan and elisia are already together and they start to like val . this will be a fast burn but i already love them
