Sitting on the edge of her bed Antara opened the small window of her hostel room and plugged in the earphones and played her favourite 90s playlist.
Opening her laptop she went to her docs and started typing in haste as she was on deadline for publishing the new chapter of her story, on Wattpad.
Two and a half hours passed by and she was slowly humming the song while typing. As a surprise, she planned to give double updates.
Uploading one of the parts she closed her laptop and looked at the small clock kept on her study table.
It was 6 pm and Adit was coming to pick her up at 7 pm. Her heart was racing rapidly to meet him Today.
She never experienced such a feeling before when she was with Adit.
Neither when they were friends nor when they used to fight.
Choosing a black knee-length dress with a white woollen shrug she went to take a fresh bath.
Adit's condition was no less, before today many of his friends visited his apartment, even his female friends. Just today he was nervous and was on another stair.
He looked around at her for one more time. Being a person who loves to keep in their place.
Adit didn't have to do much cleaning over the materialistic things but he surely needed to clear some dust of blindness from his eyes.
Adit slipped into a pair of blue pants with black hoodies.
Picking up his bike keys he moved towards her hostel.
Reaching the hostel he saw her coming out. His eyes scanned her immediately and went towards the other things in the surrounding area.
As if the garbage corner at the side of the hostel is something interesting.
She never looked this beautiful before he thought while averting his gaze away from her because he didn't want to show her as a creepy person to check her out.
"Let's go. The garbage will be cleaned by morning." Antara said when she followed his gaze that led to the garbage corner.
"Why are you telling me. I wasn't looking there and I am interested in that garbage," Adit said as he wasn't looking at it with interest but because someone else was taking a lot of his attention.
"I believe you," Antara said, smiling slowly.
Adit started his bike and Antara sat beside him.
Antara looked at him from the back and her eyes held different emotions she didn't even want to recognise.
Adit was driving slowly when suddenly a small boy came on the road.
He halted his bike suddenly resulting in Antara crashing on his back.
The sudden contact of their bodies made a high dose of adrenaline rush into their veins.
He held her hand that came on his chest and moved his head towards her to see if she was fine.
"You ok," Adit asked, being all concerned.
"Oh yeah," she said, keeping her hair in place.
One of her hair strands stuck on her face and Adit slowly tucked it behind her hair. He looked into her eyes, she raised her eyebrows at him and he frowned at her actions.
She held her hand entwined in his, in front of his eyes. Adit looked at their entwined hands and realised what he did.
He gulped the lump that formed in his throat and again looked at her for an apology.
"It's Ok, but now leave my hand we have to go," Antara said smiling, making Adit nod his head slowly.
Currently, he was too shy to meet her gaze. Antara looked at her hand that was entwined in his one's minutes later.
The warmth of his strong hands made her heart warmer. Biting her lips slowly she tried to hide the pink tint appearing on her cheeks.
Her activities were visible to Adit in the rear mirror. A cheeky smile made its way to his lips and looked on the road as he couldn't take the risk of them getting injured.
Antara got down from his bike as Adit parked it and they moved inside his apartment. Antara's eyes moved to every corner of his apartment.
"This is much much better than my room," Antara said smiling.
"I like to live in cosy places," she added, folding her hands.
"Shift with me," Adit said, winking at her, making Antara part her lips at his comment.
"Not even in your dreams," Antara retorted back.
"Much better dreams rarely come true," Adit said, smiling cheekily.
"What has gotten into you," Antara said, raising her eyebrows as she moved towards his small balcony.
Adit walked towards her with slow steps and stood behind her.
"Maybe something related to you," Adit said slowly.
Antara looked at her with her eyes wide and lips parted in shock listening to his statement.
Looking at her face Adit left a hearty laugh keeping a hand on his stomach.
"Damn look at your face," Adit said and Antara folded her arms across her chest.
"Ouchhh," Adit yelled as Antara punched in his stomach.
"Now is it paining Adit, Aww laugh more and I will show you some more pain," Antara said smiling devilishly.
"Such a devil," Adit said, caressing his stomach.
"You asked for it," Antara said, winking.
"I love this balcony," Antara said sitting on the green mattress.
Adit sat beside her admiring the rose flower blooming in his small flower pot.
"It is," Adit said and cleared his throat.
"Antara, what disturbed you the most in the past," Adit asked her, making her look at her.
"Adit I never asked big things from you in our friend. Just wanted a bit of trust," Antara said, pouring her share of complaints
Till now she never said it out because he wasn't there to listen but today he was. Possibly they were fated to clear it unpunctual.
"I trusted you, a part of my heart always did, but I loved Natasha. At that point all that I could see was that she couldn't be wrong," Adit said, looking at her.
"I didn't even blame Natasha for anything as her insecurity made her do it. Just like each one of us. Like I didn't trust you thinking that it might take me away from Natasha," Adit said, averting his gaze while Antara kept looking at him.
"You still love Natasha," Antara asked him, making him look at her.
"To be honest, Natasha and I were attracted to each other, there was no love, it was just hormones messing up," Adit said, smiling slowly.
A minute-long silence between them makes them drift into their world.
"Can we become friends again," They both said together, making each other smile.
"Maybe the feelings are mutual," Adit said, chuckling.
"Maybe," Antara said, smiling cheekily.
Adit stood to bring them something to eat while Antara opened her phone to publish the next chapter of her book.
She sat and there was no trace of Adit even after 10 minutes.
Antara stood up to look for him. When she found him standing by the door frame keeping the cookie tray on the small stool and busy on his phone.
"Adit," She called, making his phone slip out of his hand.
He, fortunately, held the phone before it could touch the floor.
"Sorry, actually one of my favourite stories just got updated. So I couldn't stop myself from reading it," Adit said, picking up the cookie tray.
"Oh wow, where do you read books? Tell me the title too" Antara said as they sat back on the green mattress.
"I read on Wattpad, the title of the book is, "Purity of Soul" Adit said, making her eyes wide a little but she soon masked it.
"Oh great," She smiled
Not even in her wildest dreams, Antara think that Adit would be reading her story, not just reading also loving it.
She never had much time due to her college to check every comment and every reader.
She looked at him with amusement while he was reading the book with all the dedication as if he was currently living in that world.
While the blooming rose was witnessing the slow play of her gazes
Tell me your favourite moment of this chapter?
