You and Tom were best friends. You've known him for so long that you would always hang out with him. Many of your neighbors thought that you guys were together since you would always be together. Well, those aren't true since he's a playboy.
Yes, a playboy. You're best friends with a playboy. Well, he wasn't like that when you first met. It just got to him as you were growing up. And although he's like that, he still chose to be best friends with you and be there for you.
Luckily, Harrison, his best mate, wasn't a playboy and you were best friends too with him. When Tom is out on bars, and probably with girls, you would either be hanging out with Harrison or be alone at home doing nothing.
Problem is, it wasn't easy for you to not have feelings for Tom. Of course, you would always be together and you couldn't help but feel something towards him. And the only person who knows this was Harrison.
"This heart is so stupid!" You exclaimed while pointing to your chest. You were now ranting to Harrison for the third time about your feelings for Tom. Harrison was just sitting on the couch while you were standing there with your head boiling.
"Nothing's gonna happen if you don't do anything about it," Harrison said and you stopped walking around and glared at him. He just looked away from you. "And that's just your choice." He added.
You gave a heavy sigh and sat down beside Harrison. He wrapped an arm around you and patted your head. You placed your head on his shoulder. It was normal for you to be like this with Harrison. He was like your big brother after all.
"It's obvious that he likes you too, you know?" Harrison suddenly blurted out. You looked at him in confusion. How is it that obvious for him and for you it's not?
"How can you say that?" You started. "He could never like me. He likes tons of girls, Haz." You said. "Wait, no. Replace that. He hasn't been serious with someone, ever."
"And he's stupid enough to not notice you," Harrison said. "Come on. You've been inseparable with each other, Y/N. It's impossible for him to not like you in that way."
"You're honestly like one of the people who has been telling me that. I can't believe this." You said and stood up from the couch.
"What? It's true!" Harrison said and you just rolled your eyes and walked straight to your bedroom.

You still can't believe why you're roommates with Tom and Harrison in the first place. You've been covering your ears for the past thirty minutes already, not wanting to hear what is happening to the room next to yours. You didn't want to hear the screaming and the noises that were happening.
Why did Tom have to go home? You asked with a groan. He could've just went to a hotel or something.
It has been torturing you for the past thirty minutes until the noises were now over.
Finally. You said and concentrated on your sleep and you are definitely going to have a talk with Tom in the morning.

You woke up from your 'peaceful' sleep as the sunshine hit your face. You suddenly stood up from your bed to go to the kitchen and get some tea. You were wearing your pajamas and barefooted.
As you were making the tea, the door coming from Tom's room opened revealing a girl was already fixing her hair. Her clothes were still crumpled.
"Hello." You suddenly blurted out. You were used to greeting Tom's girls who would go to your apartment. Sometimes it would end up bad, but some would just storm off after Tom is finished with them.
"Tom, there's another girl in the kitchen." The woman suddenly said, not even bothering to even greet back. You could already feel a bad vibe coming from her.
"Okay then." You mumbled and continued making your tea.
"You said something?" The girl said.
"No-"
Tom suddenly came out from the room beside the random girl.
"Who is she?" The random girl asked with disgust in her face.
"She's my roommate and best friend." He said and looked at you with a smile. "Morning, love." He said and that made your eyes widen.
He just called you that endearment in front of that random girl.
"Is she really just your best friend?" She asked before you could even greet back. This was already annoying you but you can still hold it.
"Yes, she is. What's the problem with that?" You could already sense that Tom was already annoyed by this girl. "You know what, get out." He said with an annoyed tone in his voice.
"W-what-"
"Get out." He said and the girl just got her things and stormed off. You just stood there while witnessing the scene. Tom looked at you and walked towards you.
"Are you okay?" He asked you, worriedly.
"Getting used to it, Thomas." You said. "Still surprised that you don't have any STDs yet." You blurted out and you didn't even realize what you just said.
"I've been careful, love." He answered with a chuckle and that nickname just made your heart leap. But you knew that he would never return the feeling like the way you do for him.
Your mood suddenly changed for some reason and you said, "Alright." You were about to reach for the door going to your room when you heard Tom spoke up.
"Is everything okay, Y/N?" He asked.
It was hard for you to answer that. First, another of his hookups just ruined your morning, and second, the pain in your chest just wouldn't stop. Of course, you're not okay.
"I'm okay, Tom." She looked back at him with a small smile.
"I know you're not." He spoke up again that caused her to look at him once more.
"Tom, I really am-"
"I'm your best friend, I know you, Y/N."
Just a best friend? You thought and you can feel your chest crumble by that thought.
"You're killing me, Holland." You mumbled but loud enough for him to hear it. You sighed and run your hand through your already messy hair.
"Did I do something, Y/N?" Tom asked with a worried tone.
Yes. You made me fall in love with you even more even though I didn't want to. You wanted to tell that straight to him.
"I'll get going, Tom." You said and gave him a little smile.
"Wait," Tom said and you turned around to face him again. "Are you really okay?" He asked concerned.
"Of course, Tom." That was what you answered to him and turned back again and went into your room, leaving him dumbfounded.

"I don't know, mate. She didn't seem okay. I mean, she said she was but I know she isn't." Tom said to his best friend while they were both sitting on the couch.
"Obviously because she's fed up with dealing those girls that you bring home," Harrison said and Tom looked at him with confusion.
"What is that suppose to mean?" Tom asked.
Harrison could only sigh and stand up.
"Sometimes." Harrison started. "I just wanna punch your damn face."
Tom stood up, still feeling confused. "What the fuck, mate?"
Harrison turned around to face his best friend. "Let me ask you this." He said as he sat down. "How would you feel, if Y/N was in a relationship right now?"
Tom paused for a moment and then answered. "I would support her of course. I mean she would love him, so-"
"What if she would bring guys to the apartment and would have a fun time with them in her room-"
"Okay, okay! I can't imagine her doing that mate, okay?! What the hell!"
"Are you not considerate enough to actually understand her feelings about you bringing different and random women to our apartment?" Harrison asked with an already mad tone. "And are you not sensitive enough to her that most of the girls or all the girls that go to our apartment would treat her like shit?"
That made Tom go silent. He never realized what your feelings were every time he would bring a girl to his apartment. Of course, he would defend her but that was just it. He would just do it over and over again.
You've fucked up, Holland. He said to himself.
"I'm not supposed to tell you this but, she's hurt, mate." Harrison started. "Sometimes, she would even want to go to another apartment because she couldn't handle it. I mean, I'm not saying she doesn't like us. She's just tired of dealing with those, you know?"
"I'm stupid, Haz." That was all that Tom could say.
"Then change that," Harrison said. "I'm your best mate but when it comes to Y/N, I won't hesitate to punch your face." Harrison continued. "So you better change that attitude of yours if you still her in your damn life. Or rather, if you still want to be in her life."
Tom looked at Harrison. "Do you like her, Haz?"
Harrison could just chuckle and crossed his arms. "If I did, what would you do?"
Tom clenched on his hand and Harrison noticed this and smirked to himself.
This is a sign. Harrison said to himself. "I knew it. You do like her, Tom."
Tom looked at Harrison and didn't say anything. He couldn't deny it anymore when it was already obvious that he had feelings for you.
How could you just realize it right now? He asked himself.

Few days passed by and there was a silent tension in the apartment of the three teenagers. You would usually stay in your room while Tom and Harrison would be anywhere else in the apartment.
You didn't know why but you just can't face Tom for a while. You decided to take a break and go outside, probably for a coffee. You changed your clothes and got out of the room. You saw your roommates who were playing a video game. As soon as you got near the door and got your shoes, Tom looked up and noticed you were there.
"Where are you going, Y/N?" Tom asked that made your heart leap.
"Out." That was what you could only say as you put on your shoes.
"Want me to go with you-"
"I'm fine, Tom. I can go out on my own." You answered and opened the door to go out then closed it again once you got out. Tom could only sigh as he could still sense the tension between them. Harrison could only pat Tom's back while still continuing to play.
"Yep. I can't. I'll go after her." Tom said and stood up and placed down the PS4 but Harrison stopped him by grabbing his wrist.
"Let her be for a while, Tom," Harrison said and Tom sighed once more. "She probably went to get coffee or something."
"I can't, Haz. I already feel so guilty about it. I'm gonna go after her." Tom said and pulled away from Harrison and went to change his clothes for a while. After a while, Tom already changed his clothes and went straight out of the apartment. Harrison could only shake his head and sigh.
"Those two need to make up already." He whispered to himself as he kept playing the game that he was on.
You took a sip of your coffee and watched the view outside the cafeteria. It was a busy day and a busy city since it was still Tuesday. As she was admiring the view, she couldn't help but think of Tom.
You groaned as you thought of him. Stupid, Holland. Stop messing with my head.
After several minutes of staying in the cafeteria, you got your things and finally went out. The wind suddenly blew as soon as you got out from the doors.
As you were walking in the busy street, you noticed a familiar figure standing in the distance. You slowed your steps to look at him properly, didn't care how your hair was getting messy by the wind. Just by looking at him, you felt your chest tightened so you decided to look away from him even with his face of forgiveness. You walked fast since you knew you were going to pass by him.
Tom felt his chest tightened as well as soon as you looked away. When you passed by him, he suddenly grabbed your free wrist with his hand to stop you from walking away from him.
"Y/N." He called out. You closed your eyes and sighed before looking at him. "Can we talk?" He pleaded, his eyes caught her attention. You tried to look away from him, trying not to be tempted with those beautiful brown orbs until he pleaded once more. "Please?"
You gave up. You looked at him once more and gave him a sign to walk with you to go to somewhere not crowded.
As soon as you reach to the quite park, you suddenly stopped walking that startled Tom and stopped walking as well. You turned around to face him and finally spoke up. "What do you want?" You crossed your arms to your chest.
"I—" Tom started, getting intimidated by the look of your face. "I'm sorry." He finally said and looked at you. Your facial expression never changed. "I'm really sorry for everything. Like, me being this kind of person—"
"I never knew why you became that but I still accepted you." You interrupted him.
"I still want you in my life, Y/N." He said and tried to grab one of your hands. You let him grab your hand and he held it tightly. "Honestly, you're the only person that inspired me to do anything I want. Acting, dancing, anything. You've been with me for how many years and I just can't lose you."
You continued to look at him feeling your chest getting lighter. Was he for real for now?
"Y/N, I love—" You pressed your index finger to his lips to interrupt him from what he was going to say. He looked at you with confusion before you giggle and took away your finger from him.
"Don't say that, Tom." You started and went closer to him. "I don't want you to say that just because you know how I feel for you." You continued. "I want you to love me, because you love me. Not because you pity me or something."
"I can wait for you because I love you, Tom." You finally said it with a smile on your face. Tom's face lighten up and smiled back at you.
"God, I am so stupid to not realize that." He mumbled to himself which made you laugh at him. He grabbed both of your hands and pressed it to his chest. "I swear, I will change myself and be better, Y/N."
"You really are going to do this?" You asked him and he nodded as an answer. He pulled you closer to him and wrapped his arms around you and kissed your forehead.
"For you, Y/N. For you."
