The new kid
(They're about 11) (so middle school I'm guessing) (6th grade?)
Third person POV
"Look man I'm just mad we won't all be in the same class this year." Green said as he and his siblings walked to school.
"I know. We've never been in different classes before. I don't really like it." Magenta said.
"Me, either. I mean we pretty much only hang out with each other." Pink replied.
"Well some of us are in the same class. I know for fact that me and Green are in the same class." Red replied.
"Green, and I." Purple said once again correcting what he deemed as poor grammar.
"Please don't tell me I'm gonna be in a class by myself." Blue said.
"Don't worry Blue, mom made sure that none of us are in a class by ourselves." Magenta said.
"Maybe this will be a chance for some of us to make some friends." Yellow said attempting to be optimistic.
"I for one agree with Yellow. We should try to be optimistic about this. New school, new friends!" Orange said.
"I wouldn't get your hopes up you two. People will probably still think we're freaks just like our last school." Pink replied.
"Come on Pinkie why do you have to kill the mood?" Yellow asked.
"She's not killing the mood. She's just being realistic. People believe we're peculiar and abnormal." Gray replied.
"Hey there's nothing wrong with being hopeful. So maybe we won't make any friends, but going in with a negative attitude will just make you guys feel worse. At least try to be positive." Yellow said.
"Since when were you so extroverted Yellow?" Blue asked.
"Since I. Got stuck by the sun. It made me hyper, so hyper that I can't even really sleep, I just stay up all night reading books, besides having a near death experience makes you realize how important life is, and it gives you a desire for fun and adventure, with friends and family!" Yellow said.
"Okay moving on. Anyways I'm hoping this might be a good thing. We can grow up a bit, learn how to be on our own, and without always be with each other." Red said.
"Eas..y for you.. To say... No one beats.. You up.. Red." Blue replied.
"If someone tries to beat you up again ill deck em." Purple said darkly. Everyone looked at Purple.
"Purple are you okay?" Blue asked noticing Purple's anger.
"I'm fine. I just don't want people attacking my siblings." He replied.
"I'm glad. Thank you Purple." Blue said.
They continued walking until they reached a house.
"Hey Green look it's that spooky house that the 8th graders used to tell us 5th graders about." Red said.
"Yah. I've heard all it about it. Pretty *spooky* if you ask me they've got *tales* all about it." Green replied.
"Spoo...ky?" Blue asked.
"Guys please stop scaring Blue with your nonsense." Magenta replied.
"Oh come on it's just a story Blue, no one really believes those tales." Green replied.
"I..if you say so." Blue replied.
The siblings chatted for the rest of their walk to the school.
"Well it looks like we split up here, and go to class." Red said.
"Yah. I guess we'll meet up at lunch." Green replied.
"Sounds good to me." Orange said.
Red and Green walked into to their new classroom while their siblings went to their own classes. People gave Green some odd looks when he walked into the room like usual Green ignored them. Red and Green took two seats in the front row on the side of the room. A few minutes passed and the bell for class rang. A boy ran in the room he seemed a bit lost and confused. Both Red and Green didn't recognize him, and they recognized a lot of people from around the neighborhood or from their elementary school. He started talking to the teacher, and she told him to sit down. He grabbed a seat next to Green.
"Alight class I thought we could go around and introduce ourselves since it appears some of you don't know each other yet." The teacher said.
The boy who ran in nervously stood up first.
"Hellos I'm Barnaby P Winkleton, buts peoples calls me Barney." The boy said. Red noticed something unusual about the boy he seemed to have an accent from some foreign country that Red could not recognize. Even more unusual though was the boy had an eyepatch over one of his eyes. "I'm froms (loud bell sound) it's a county that's fars away." He said after that he nervously sat down. (I'm really trying with the accent here) People looked at Barney in a weird way. Guess they don't like foreign exchange students.
It was Green's turn to introduce himself. "I'm Green." He said.
"Green? That's a little on the nose don't you think?" A girl said.
"I know, but that's actually my name." Green replied. Everyone looked at him with a strange look, except Barney. Red thought that Barney was different from most kids one for not looking at Green like he was a freak and second he didn't, but there was something about Barney he couldn't put his finger on it.
Red stood up. "I'm Michael." He said. Their was a new kid one he never really recognized. Barney. Red was hoping that he might be able to make a real friend. One rant doesn't have this assumption that he's a freak, so he decided to use his real name and he didn't give his last name either. Green looked at him. Green wasn't sure why Red answered that way since Red hated being called Michael.
The rest of the class went on to introduce themselves.
"Class since Barnaby I mean Barney is new to America I was hoping one of you could help him adjust to America, maybe teach him some American customs or just show him around the neighborhood after school I'm sure he'd really appreciate it." The teacher said.
"I'll do it." Red responded. Green looked at Red again. That wasn't the plan, the Vacktor siblings always hanged out with each other and not with other people. What would the other say at lunch if Red wasn't with them? Is that why Red refused to go by the name Red?
"Why thank you Michael I'm sure Barney appreciates it." The teacher said.
It soon became lunch time and all the kids left to go to lunch.
Red found Barney as Green watched from a distance curious as to why his brother was acting this way.
"So yours Michael right?" Barney asked.
"Yep." Red replied.
"So what's do you guys dos for funs around here?" Barney asked.
"Exploring the neighborhoods got a lot of fun places to go and see." Red replied.
"Ohs." Barney said. It was awkward for a bit until Red decided to speak up again.
"So do you have any siblings?" Red asked.
"Yeahs, one brother named Ooshgoon. Do you have any siblings?" He replied.
"Oh uh that's not really important. Anyway what do you guys do for fun in your country?" Red asked. Green heard that and was outraged. Why would Red refuse to acknowledge that he had a brother when someone asked about it.
"Oh wells my family is goat farmers. We milk the goats for a livings." He replied.
"Oh so your countries big on farming?" Red asked.
"Yeps. Goats milk is are biggest products that's and dirts. We sell dirts everywhere." Barney said.
Red and Barney started talking for a bit and they seemed to become good friends.
Just then Yellow ran up to Green. "Hey Green, the rest of us are waiting for you and Red out at lunch. We managed to get you guys some pizza. If you don't hurry up Orange will eat them." Yellow said.
"Yellow." Green said.
"Yes?" Yellow asked.
"Do you see those two talking over there?" He asked.
"Um, yes hey is that Red? Did he make a friend?" Yellow asked.
"Yep. And it seems he doesn't want anything to do with us." Green replied.
"What? That's crazy, Us Vacktors always stick together. What makes you say that?" Yellow asked.
"He said his name was Michael and when that kid asked him if he had any siblings he didn't answer." Green replied. Yellow looked shocked finally realizing what was happening.
"We've got to tell the others." Yellow said.
Timeskip
"No ways I love Pokemon and video games too!" Barney said.
"That's awesome." Red said. Red and Barney were both pleasantly surprised at finding at making a friend and meeting some who had so many common interests. And for the first time Red felt normal his looking insecurities and desire to run seemed to fade away.
Timeskip to the end of school
The Vacktors came home well except for Red he ended up hanging with his new bestie after school.
"So Red just ditched us for someone else?" Blue asked with tears fall down his eyes. Magenta hugged Blue trying to comfort him.
"It looks like it." Green said. Yellow nodded.
"That's not rad man." Orange replied.
"Blue. We...we don't know that Red may just be happy to have found a new friend. He'd never forget about us. We're family and we always stick together." Magenta said.
"He said his name was Michael....and..that he.. didn't answer if he had any siblings. He..he thinks we're weird and wants to be normal." Blue said.
"Blue's right. Red trying to be "normal" trying to be human." Purple replied.
"There's nothing wrong with that Purple. Red is just excited to have a friend. There's nothing wrong with that." Magenta said trying to create hope. Magenta felt she had to be the peace maker of the family. The one that always stopped conflicts from arising, and she hoped that one wouldn't start now.
"Magenta. This Barney guy is "normal" he isn't like us. And Barney thinks Red is "normal." What if Barney found out about Red or us. He'd find Red a freak. He'd respond horribly to finding out about what we are." Purple said. Purple did speak truth. People weren't exactly excepting of the Vacktors and if Barney did find out about Red he might tell someone get them locked up and experimented on.
"Well...maybe Barney will be nice." Magenta said.
"Magenta humans can be monsters. Don't you remember when Blue got beat up?" Purple asked.
"Yes." Magenta said sadly.
"We need to tell Red to not hang out with Barney. Getting too close to a human will create issues for all us." Purple replied.
"I guess your right, but I don't want to ruin a potential friendship for Red. Maybe we could vote on it or something?" Magenta asked. No one really truly wanted to ruin Red's friendship.
"I agree with Purple." Gray said.
"You do?" Pink asked.
"Yes. I too think that this friendship is a bad idea. Barney is a suspicious character. Perhaps someone should do some research on "Barnaby P Winkleton"."Gray suggested.
"Why did you say his name like that?" Purple asked.
"His name sounds fake." Gray replied.
"Fake? Well he's from a different country he doesn't seem to speak English all that well. Maybe he changed his name to something more American when he came here?" Magenta asked.
"Perhaps. However, it is strange that a young boy is wearing an eye patch." Gray replied.
"That is unusual." Magenta replied.
"If you thinks it's unusual even just a little bit then perhaps investigating him is the right idea." Gray replied.
"Okay, but don't ruin his friendship yet until we all talk about it." Magenta said.
"Alright. I'll go investigating." Gray replied.
(Despite the fact that Red seems to be done with the Vacktors I will continue this story)
(Since he probably won't do anything with the Vacktors anymore I've decided to make Gray a girl, since we need more female Vacktors)
(Anyways I wanted to make a chapter after the news from last night out Red's channel)
(What could Barney be hiding since Gray and Red both think he's unusual)
