Some background stuff

Iridessa came walking inside her house. She had a very depressed and concerned look on her face. Yellow came running down the stairs as soon as he heard the door unlock. "Mom!" He screamed happily as he hugged her. Iridessa was a little tense right now and Yellow didn't seem to notice. After a few seconds of Yellow tightly squeezing her he left go. The other children started filing in. They noticed their mom's expression and knew that bad news would be coming.

"What happened?" Blue asked sadly. Yellow looked extremely confused. He didn't seem to understand why Blue asked that question.

"Nothing happened I'm fine." Yellow said with a smile. Purple rolled his eyes.

"No sweetie. Everything isn't fine, I um left my job today." Iridessa said.

"What? Why? How come?" Everyone asked.

"I just.. creative differences." Iridessa said.

"Creative differences?" Gray asked.

"Yes. We didn't see eye to eye on some things, but it's okay now I'm fine." Iridessa sad.

"Mom are you okay?" Magenta asked.

"I'm fine honey I just need to look for a new job." Her mom said she looked like she was about to cry.

Yellow decided that it was his job to cheer her up and to try to make her happy. "Hey um why don't you tell us a story about when we were babies. Babies always make people happy." He said.

Iridessa sighed. "I guess that would make things better I could tell you all the story of me bringing you home." She said.

(The story is shown more as a flashback because it's easier or me to write it that way)

May 27th 1995 2:00 in the morning

Iridessa drove her away in her car to her house. She had been living with her parents for awhile now since her divorce. The babies of course were all strapped in in the back of the car. For the most part they remained quiet which she was grateful for. It have her plenty of time to think about how she'd explain this to her parents. They knew their daughter was desperate to be a parent, and they'd of course be okay with her adopting, but bringing home test tube babies that aren't even human is a bit surprising and abnormal.

How would she explain it to them? She couldn't exactly keep it a secret could she? No the rainbow colors would give it away that something was different about these children that and most people don't adopt eight babies. She'd have to tell them. Eight would be way to many to raise on her own. She'd need their help raising her kids.

Bad thoughts crossed through her mind. What if they don't accept them? What if they call the police or someone on me for doing something illegal. That thought entered her mind many times. Making kids in a lab was illegal. It was inhuman and dangerous. Not to mention in certain lighting it could look like child abuse. Creating children that are rainbows.

Iridessa really tried not to panic about the whole situation, but that was hard to do. She kept thinking about the best way to approach this. "Hey mom hey dad you know how I've always wanted to have kids well guess what I have some now. No I didn't adopt, and I didn't kidnap them. You see I made them in my lab. They're magical rainbow children with dinosaur tails. What? Do you mean I should get some sleep? No, no I'm not on drugs. I uh don't know the number of the mental ward down the street why do you ask?" See crazy she told herself. She's going to look crazy.

Maybe if she introduced Michael first that would be a good idea. They could believe that she adopted one baby. Get them close to Michael for a bit and when the timings right she'd reveal the other seven children. That seemed like the best way to come at this odd situation.

She continued running down her plan as she pulled in to the driveway. She quiet,y got out the car and picked up the babies. The other children were in a mobile crib with wheels on it that she build had built. A good decision she thought to herself. Since carrying eight babies would be impossible. The crib with the other seven babies had a covering over it. The babies of course could breathe they just couldn't be seen easily. She picked up "Red" and slowly opened the door. The crib was with her. She walked silently through the house. Maybe if they were asleep she wouldn't have to deal with this until tomo... The kitchen light was on in the doorway stood both of her parents.

"Young lady where have you been." Her father said.

"Dad. I'm 26 almost 27." Iridessa replied.

"That may be, but you are still my daughter. Why have you been out so late? And what is that behind you?" He asked seeing the covered up crib.

"Well. That's the reason I've been working late these past few months. I have a surprise for you." She said.

"Oh please tell me you didn't get back together with your ex. I never liked that boy." Her mom said.

"What? No. Me and him our done for. (Purple: Even my mom is doing it) Forever." Iridessa said. Why did her mother have to bring up such unpleasant memories and things that were in the past.

"Then what is it?" Her mom asked.

Iridessa didn't say anything she instead turned around and held out Michael. He was wrapped in a towel so his tail wasn't showing. Her mom's face lit up. "Is that a baby?" She asked. Her father was more shocked. Why did his daughter have a baby? Had she been with a man? That wouldn't make any sense this child looked like a newborn and though Iridessa wasn't home a lot he'd certainly notice if his daughter was pregnant. Besides didn't the doctors say having kids wasn't a possibility?

"Where did you get this child?" Her father asked sternly.

"Dad. It's not what it looks like. I didn't give birth to him." Iridessa said.

"So you adopted? That's wonderful. Why didn't you tell us? Oh was this because you wanted to surprise us." Iridessa cut her mother off.

"No I didn't adopt him. He's my son, but he's uh from my lab." She said. Both her parents just looked at her with confusion. From her lab? What did that mean?

"From your lab? Sweetheart we don't understand." Her mom said.

"Michael he was born in my lab." She said.

Born in her lab. Was he a test tube baby? Her mom had read some articles on children being created in labs. Perhaps Iridessa had some donors. And the child was created in the lab that way.

"Can..can I hold Michael?" Her mother asked.

"Of course." Iridessa said handing him over. Her mom looked lovingly at Michael. At least one parent seemed to like him. Her father was still confused and suspicious.

"He's not exactly what he looks like. He wasn't made the way you think." Iridessa said.

"Well I think he's just lovely." Her mom said.

"What do you mean Iridessa?" Her father asked raising an eyebrow.

"I mean Michael isn't normal." Iridessa said. She didn't want to tell the truth ,but she knew they'd find out eventually.

"Well I know it's normal for a child to be created in such a way, but I love him." Her mom said.

"Er I'm glad you accept him, because Michael isn't um.. technically.. he's not -gulp- human." Iridessa said. Both of her parents were puzzled by this.

"What?" Her father asked after a few seconds of trying to figure out what his daughter was telling him.

"If.. um... Michael was created using a bit of my DNA and chemicals, and animal DNA which..." She said. She walked over and picked Michael up taking towel off and revealing a red scaley tail. It looked like a tail that a baby dinosaur or a dragon would have. It looked sort of lizard like with all the scales.

"What? What..?" Her father asked in shock. Her mom took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes a few times trying to see if she was seeing things correctly.

"Yep. That's uh what I mean. And um there's more." Iridessa said.

"Muh..or?" Her father asked. Her dad was speechless which was unusual. He was a more quiet person, but seeing him speechless was strange.

"Yes. Michael well I call him Red. He not only has a tail, but gills. That can actually function. He has the ability to breathe underwater." Iridessa said. She lifted Michael's arm up showing his gills underneath his armpits to them. They just stared at him for awhile.

"He's harmless I promise you." She said. She was hoping it was the right thing to say.

"Is..his er tail the reason you call him Red or is it the hair?" Her mother asked.

"It's not the tail. It's um. Well Michael has some siblings. Seven siblings to be exact." Iridessa said. She placed Michael into her mom's arms to hold as she walked over to the mobile crib. Her mother and fathers eyes fell upon a baby with pale blue skin and deep blue eyes. They looked at the child with fear and Iridessa felt her worst nightmares come true.

"That one!" Her mom cried. Iridessa bite her lip knowing what would come. "He's suffocating!" Her mom shrieked. Suffocating? Oh right he's well blue.

"No. No that's Blue. He's not suffocating. He's just blue." Iridessa said.

"Blue? Why is he Blue?" Her father asked.

Iridessa picked Blue up. "The chemicals and DNA has mutated each of the children. How much I'm unsure of. They all posses tails like Red and gills. They seem to have unusual pigments in the hair, eyes, and skin." She said pulling off Blue's hat revealing his dark blue hair. Her parents gasped. The baby had blue hair. "They might even grow more mutations perhaps even powers beyond our imagination one day." She said. She slowly uncovered the rest of the cart and let them see all of the babies.

She handed Blue to her father. As she went to pick up each and every baby introducing them to her parents. "This is Orange, Green, Purple, Pink, Magenta, and Gray." She said.

"Where's Yellow?" Her father asked panic stricken.

"There's no Yellow." Iridessa said. The fact that her father was concerned about the idea of a child missing was a good sign she hoped.

"It's ironic that we named you Iridessa isn't it? Considering you have rainbow children?" Her mom teased.

"You mean you aren't freaked out, and ready to call the FBI on me?" She asked stunned.

"No, they're our grandchild and we love them. Despite them being unique." Her mom said. Unique that's a good word. Not creepy? Scary? Inhumane. Unique was a safe word.

"Besides I think Blue likes me." Her father said currently rocking Blue back and forth. Blue smiled up at his grandpa giggling happily as his tail swung back and forth.

"About the tails." Her mom started.

"I uh don't know if removal is possible. I haven't run all the necessary tests. I just brought them home so they could sleep and be safe." Iridessa said. It was a lie she needed to get them out of the lab from whoever or whatever was in there. "Whether I can remove their tails, and change their DNA around to make them look normal depends on many factors. Tail removal may be impossible." She said.

"We understand." Her mom said placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Thanks. I'm just really glad I don't have to go through this alone. I even more glad that I'm not sitting in some nut house for making rainbow dinosaur children." Iridessa said. Rainbow dinosaur children was something that would never sound normal to her. It sounded like a character in a fanfic or a video game players avatar of some sorts. (RIP THE FOURTH WALL)

In the morning of course Iridessa activated Yellow causing him to be "born" so to speak. She didn't really sleep much at all last night since her parents needed help with the babies, feeding them, changing them etc... And she knew she wouldn't get much sleep this night either. She was pretty much surviving on drinking a red bull. She knew this wasn't healthy for her of course, but her options were limited.

Yellow was given DNA too so he could grow and age over time. Without DNA he wouldn't be able to grow. Of course this DNA would not make human. It merely made him appear human. However she gave him the same kind of dinosaur, fish, and chemicals as her children had and programmed that into Yellow's body. As a result he grew gills and a tail.

Her presentation on the robot she created would be starting any minute now.

Iridessa began to panic her co worker Dr. Miller had left to go back to his work. Leaving her and Yellow alone. She looked down at Yellow lying in a crib. He saw her and smiled. Yellow smiling? He could smile? How he had never seen another person do that before. She picked up Yellow to see if he was okay. She held him close to her heart and Yellow smiled even wider as he heard her heart beat. "Aww your just a little sweetheart aren't you?" She asked. Yellow didn't respond. Maybe sounds were too much for him right now.

She picked him up and carried him out ready as she'll ever be for her presentation.

The board members started to file in the room. She stood paranoid trying her best to come across as normal, but it was pretty clear to everyone that she was incredibly nervous.

"Ladies and gentleman. What I bring to you today is my finest creation. I've worked very hard to make this perfect." Iridessa said as she revealed a baby.

Everyone looked at the small child. He looked like a newborn baby. "This is a joke right. That's a baby not a machine." Her boss said.

"Oh it's no joke Sir. He truly is a robot." Iridessa said. She picked up Yellow and opened the invisible panel of his chest and showed him to the audience. Inside were wires, metal, computer chips, springs, various gadgets. No organs or anything human looking, and a small chamber where his heart would be.

"He really is a robot!" A women said. Several mummers went through the room. Iridessa tried to figure out what her boss was thinking but his expression was unreadable.

Her boss turned to a few people. Whispering. Iridessa felt her heart beating faster in her chest. Her boss stood up. "I think we need to discuss this further in private before we hear anything more." Her boss said.

"Okay. Thank you for your time." Iridessa said as she carried out Yellow. Once back in her lab Iridessa started to panic. Need to discus in private if there going to here more? That doesn't sound good. That really doesn't sound good. It made Iridessa begin to worry. She hadn't even told them the purpose of Yellow.

(Secretly in a room without anyone's knowledge including Iridessa's her boss met with some others)

"Iridessa Vacktor has potential. She created a robotic child. One that looks so life like you wouldn't know it's a robot unless she told you. I believe that she and her intentions might be able to help us with our little problem. She shows that she has the ability to create extraordinary things. However, why her invention is genius she'll need to stop working on it. If she continues working on the robot she won't have any time to build us what we need. In order to preform her "job" I'm afraid I'm left with no choice, but to destroy one of the greatest inventions I've ever seen." The man said. If the man was ever going to be able to sell the world to the aliens to spare his life he need his best scientist to be working on something special for him.

"I agree, she certainly is brilliant enough to help with this assignment, but is it absolutely necessary to destroy such a fantastic invention?" A board member questioned. Some of the board members were skeptical about whether destruction of the robotic child would be a good thing. It was in many ways a scientific breakthrough.

Hmm the man thought. They did have a point a robotic child could be quite impressive, but time was of the essence. Perhaps Dr. Vacktor could have someone else watch over the machine, while she could be working on bigger and better things.

"I'll monitor her activity over the next few days and make an executive decision on how we will proceed, but one things for certain if that machine of hers distracts from her duties I will have no choice, but to destroy it. If someone else watches over it she may begin to miss it and wish to stop work or hurry it up and give us a half built machine in order to return to her robot." The man said. The others had to agree, getting the job they needed done was of the upmost importance.

Later

Iridessa was thinking and looking over all her work while Yellow was inside his crib. What was she thinking creating a robotic baby? How would she explain the tail that was currently growing from Yellow's body? This was just as crazy as creating her children early this morning. Oh geese she was gonna get fired or worse end up in the nut house or some top secret federal prison. She started running her fingers through her hands in impatience and stress. Why was it taking so long to fire her? Just then she heard Yellow moving around in her crib. She figured she'd take a look at him. He smiled up at her when she saw him.

Over the next couple of days as her boss continued discussing with the board about their plans for Iridessa. Iridessa grew attached to Yellow. He was like a normal baby in so many ways. He was happy, and he craved attention just like any baby would. He didn't exactly emote the same way normal babies do what with crying, and screaming when they needed something mostly because Yellow's lacked true biological needs, but she was certain that he'd be able to feel many of the same things than any child could feel. And she hoped that some day he would be able to feel just like anyone else would, but he was a baby and it was too early to determine his emotional maturity or exactly would he could and couldn't process.

She decided too however treat him like she was her son. Her boss of course secretly watched over and took great displeasure in watching the two of them bond. He was absolutely certain that this project would stop her from accomplishing what he and the board members needed to be done.

Iridessa looked down at Yellow and was about to pick him up when he boss walked in the room. His manner indicated that this was extremely serious business.

"I need to speak with you immediately." Her boss said. His tone was cold and demanding.

"Certainly Sir wha..." Iridessa said. He interrupted her having no time for point conversation, he cut right to the chase.

"You shouldn't have created something like this Iridessa." Her boss said pointing at Yellow who was still in his crib. She really wanted to argue with him. She wanted to figure out why he was so against Yellow's existence, but ultimately she knew arguing would be bad.

"Your right." She said. It's best to just play it safe and agree with her boss.

"You need to deactivate it now. Creating a machine that can feel is risky and unsafe. Not to mention against the laws of nature." He said.

"I understand. What is it that I need to do?" Iridessa asked. Iridessa "would do as she was told."

"Destroy it. It's simple enough. I want you to destroy it." Her boss said.

"De..story him?" Iridessa chocked out. "But Sir. I've worked on this for so long. How could I simply destroy my greatest work?" Iridessa asked.

"Iridessa. You've already grown attached to this machine. You treat it like a person. You've been nurturing it for such a long time and it's going to affect your work. Soon you'll want to adopt it and take it home with you, but you forget how incredibly dangerous this thing is. So yes I'm telling you to destroy it." He paused for a moment. "Either you get rid of it or I'll get rid of you." He said.

"Alright Sir. I'll get rid of the machine." Iridessa said.

"Perfect. And I've already thought of your newest assignment." Her boss said.

"Which is?" Iridessa asked.

"I'll tell you about it tomorrow. For right now just get rid of that thing." He said. And with that he left.

Iridessa started collecting her thoughts together. Her boss wanted her to get rid of Yellow. He wasn't a machine. He was a child, a very human like child. Just like her own kids. A thought crossed her mind. Yellow was so much like her kids what if she adopted him. She already grew extremely attached to him.

"Iridessa how is the whole destroying your greatest work going for ya?" Her boss asked.

"It's going fine. Sir. I just thought I shouldn't destroy the whole thing." Her boss gave her a look. "A lot of money was spent on this project, and I just thought I could use the spare parts for other projects. Besides if I was to destroy the entire thing so much money would be lost. Lost out of your own pocket Sir." Iridessa said.

Her boss was sensing hesitation and attachment, but using the spare parts would save money. And he was always a man that loved money so much so he'd sell the entire world to someone. Literally. He had to agree with this line of logic. However, he knew that Iridessa might have a trick up her sleeve so he formulated an idea. "Alright. I'll let you keep it for spare parts, but I want to see you deactivate it. Just make sure you can't bring it back to "life." He said. He saw Iridessa's sad and nervous face. He knew she had no intention of destroying the machine. That whole using the spare parts was just an excuse so she could hide the machine somewhere and make it her child or something.

"Alright." Iridessa said.

"Alright? Really? Just like that?" He asked shocked that she agreed to it.

"Well. Yes. I want this job Sir. An if my boss says I need to deactivate the machine then I will." Iridessa said. Iridessa went to go pick up Yellow. He smiled when he saw her.

Iridessa approached Yellow sadly her boss behind her. "I'm sorry." Was all Iridessa said. Yellow looked confused. Why was she sorry? Before Yellow could ask her why she was sorry and why this man was here Iridessa reached for the back of Yellow's neck opened up a panel and shut him down. Yellow's head drupted. She held up Yellow's lifeless body to the man. "See Sir. The machine is deactivated." Iridessa said.

Her boss looked over Yellow's body. Examining him to make sure this wasn't some kind of trick. After determining that the machine was indeed deactivated he smiled.

"I knew you had it in you." He said giving her a pat on the back. "Don't forget tomorrow I'll reveal the surprise on what you'll be working on." He said. After he left the room he couldn't help ,but chuckle. I can't believe she actually did it. I thought she was going to tear up right in front of me. She destroyed her "son." I don't get why she was so emotional it's just a machine. Machines just mimic emotions. They don't actually feel. And now she'll probably have to live with that guilt that she destroyed him for the rest of her life. Bet she's thinking that her new project will be great and that she'll save the world. Oh poor, sweet, and, innocent Iridessa if only you knew what you'd really be doing.

After her boss left Iridessa scanned the room no one was here. Good. No one would see her reactivate Yellow. You see she faked shutting down Yellow. He wasn't deactivated he was just "asleep" in an almost coma like state. All she needed to do was turn him on and he'd back to normal in a manner of seconds.

Iridessa waited until everyone had gone home she claimed she needed to pick apart the robot and figure out what parts would be able to be reused and which would not. This disgusted her for Yellow was more than just a machine, he was a person and talking about him this way made her feel sick. After everyone left she carried Yellow out with her and brought him home.

She pulled up to the driveway late at night and figured her parents were either asleep or busy with the babies. Oh they were gonna really love having a ninth baby to watch. Considering the eight little bundles of joy could be very loudly and needy at times and certainly prevented one from sleeping, but they all loved them anyway.

"Where have you been young lady? You told us you'd be home at fiv.. Is that a baby?" Her father asked.

"Well you did want to know where Yellow was and here he is." Iridessa said.

"You created another baby?" Her father asked.

"Yes I actually created him the same day I created his siblings, but he's even more unusual than his siblings." Iridessa said.

Her father sighed what could be more "unusual" than rainbow dinosaur mutant hybrids? Whatever it was it would certainly be interesting.

"Yellow is a robot." Iridessa replied.

Her dad then started questioning his life. "Well I've seen it all now." He said.

"Is he named Yellow because he is a yearning emotional life-form longing to obey whims?" Her mom asked. (A horrible acronym really) (Do you know it was to find a word that would start with y to create an acronym that actually makes somewhat sense? And doesn't sound like a bunch of random words jumbled together)

"What? No. He's literally named Yellow because he has blond hair and yellowish gold eyes, that go along with his siblings being named after colors." Iridessa said with an unamused look.

"Oh. I just figured he was like all the robots on TV and stuff having a name that's an acronym that no one understands." Her mom said.

"Well anyways I think it's time he meets his brothers and sisters." Iridessa said setting Yellow down in the crib. Yellow laid down right next to his siblings. "Aww." Iridessa said as he smiled up at her.

"I think he's gonna to be okay." Her mom said.

"I hope so. About the tails and everything tomorrow night I'll take some of them down to the lab and see what I can figure out." Iridessa said stressed out.

"They'll be fine honey. You'll figure it out." Her mom said resting a hand on her shoulder.

"I know I'm just worried about them. I'm worried about their future..." Iridessa said.

"Don't. I know you'll be a great parent. Even if you can't figure out a way to make them "normal" I just know they'll be okay." Her mom.

"Thanks I just can't help, but feel that someday something horrible will happen." Iridessa said.

"And if something bad does happen we'll face it together." Her mom said.

The next night

She did several tests on Blue trying to figure out if he had methemoglobinemia. Which causes blue skin as a result from a type of hemoglobin that can't carry oxygen throughout the blood. The condition is curable by adding the missing enzyme so it can oxygenate the blood. However, Blue wasn't missing the enzyme. She continued on trying to do more tests on Blue, Green, and Purple's unusual skin colors, along with the unusual hair and eye colors of her other children. She tried dying their hair a normal color, but it didn't work. It was like magic or something.

X-Ray tests proved the tails we're apart of their spinal cords making removal impossible. The tails didn't seem to hurt them or their backs in any ways so Iridessa guessed they'd be safe to stay. It's not like she really had much choice anyway.

Of course they started to discover interesting things out about the children

One day Iridessa was doing tests on her kids anatomy and physiology. She had Blue with her and she was figuring out how their lungs and gills worked. How they were able to go from breathing air to breathing water with no real problems. It certainly raised some questions. Questions such as how water could play an effect on their lives. Would they turn into something even more mythological like Merpeople. What other type of connections to water do they have?

She currently had Blue in her arms and was about to set him down in a sink and observe his behavior towards the water. It was perfectly safe course and if anything caused Blue discomfort she would immediately stop. Besides she needed to know how their anatomy would play out in the future to keep them safe and protected. She set Blue down in the water and a small smile appeared on his face. She smiled down at Blue who was clearly happy to be in the water. She washed him and watched how happy he was to play with the water splashing his tail all around in it.

Eventually it was time for her to take Blue out of the water and dry him off. Blue gave a look of discontent and anger at being removed from the water. He clearly didn't want to leave. "Blue I'm sorry, but it's time for me to dry you off. I have to feed your siblings and see how they react to water." Iridessa said. Blue was not pleased with that answer he got even more upset and as he was picked up tried reaching out to the water. And the craziest thing happened the water seemed to be reaching out to Blue. It was as if he could control the water, and he could. Iridessa watched in shock an amazement as her son managed to control and manipulate water. He couldn't even talk yet and he could already do such amazing things. "Well I..I guess it wouldn't hurt to let you play with the water for a bit longer." Iridessa said sitting Blue back down in the sink. He giggled happily a he continued to splash his tail around.

As Blue grew up he was always soothed by water. It make him happy, and brought peace to him. If Blue wasn't around water for awhile he became sad and easily dehydrated. Blue was the most "fish like" of his siblings needing lots of water for health and for happiness which of course inspired Iridessa to make a onesie for him with raindrops on it since he always adored the rain.

Iridessa of course tried testing her other children's reactions to water Orange seemed to dislike water the most. It didn't hurt him he just didn't care for it at all.

Magenta plants

Iridessa carried Magenta around with her. She was doing tests on Magenta to make sure she was safe and healthy.

"Okay Magenta I'm just going to test your reaction to water, to see if you read the same way as your bother Blue did." Iridessa said to no one really. Magenta was too young to really understand her.

She sat Magenta down in the sink and turned the water on. Magenta seemed to like the water a bit, by she didn't have that same connection to the water that Blue had. She picked Magenta up and dried her off.

She carried Magenta around with her deciding to have some quality time with her child. They walked by a bunch of flowers. Magenta stuck her hand out to touch the flowers. "Magenta we look with our eyes not with our hands." Her ok said as she pulled her away from the plants. As she pulled Magenta away she noticed a small green leaf sticking out from her sleeve. She gently reached out to remove it, but as she did Magenta started crying at the top of her lungs. "Magenta calm down." Her mom said as she tried to comfort the child. She tried reaching for the leaf again, but this time Magenta started thrashing back and forth like crazy. "Magenta?" Her mom questioned.

She moved back Magenta's sleeve and saw leaves and vines growing on her arm. Iridessa was shocked and confused. She didn't have leaves on her body a minute ago. She lifted up Magenta's other arm sleeve and saw more leaves and vines running along her arms. Later she discovered that Magenta had more leaves and vines running down her legs. She was concerned if the leaves would start growing in other places, but they stopped at the wrists and ankles. Iridessa carefully tried cutting off the leaves, but Magenta started crying. Iridessa had never seen anyone looked so sad and scared I'm her life. Iridessa realized removing the leaves would probably scar Magenta or hurt her. Magenta seemed to like her leaves and didn't want them removed. Iridessa decided to let Magenta keep her leaves so long as they didn't hurt her.

She thought back about Blue and how his powers worked. It was the first time Blue ever touched water, and the first time Magenta ever touched a plant she grew leaves. Perhaps being near these things somehow triggered their powers.

As Magenta grew older she really loved being around nature. Learning about plants and animals made her really happy. Magenta was connected to nature literally. She could tell if a plant was sick or dying, if it was in the wrong soil, the amount of water it needed, how old it was, if it was safe to eat etc... Magenta was even able to grow and heal plants.

(I'm getting The Odd Life of Timothy Green vibes now. A plant with leaves on the body that's sweet and innocent who ends up dying in the end. Totally did not consider making Magenta a plant because of that movie. Okay I lie that's one of the reasons why she's so plant like)

Orange

One day when Orange was a toddler he was being watched by his grandpa. He was sitting in his little play pin as his grandpa was boiling water on the stove. Orange watched as the little blue flames underneath the pot danced all around. Orange became extremely fascinated with the fire and wished to go see it. He climbed out of his crib leaving the rest of his siblings and toddled over to the kitchen. His grandfather heard tiny footsteps walk through the kitchen and turned around to see Orange. "And what are you doing in here young man?" He asked bending down to Orange's level.

Orange pointed to the pot boiling. His grandpa turned around. "Oh that's just a pot boiling some water over a fire." He told Orange.

"Orange like fia." Orange replied. His grandpa picked him up.

"No, no, no. Fire isn't safe for you. Come on let's get you out of here." His grandpa said. As Orange was facing the fire he looked incredibly sad.

"Fia!" He cried out. "Orange want fia!" He said crying. He started thrashing his tail against his grandpa desperately wanting to be near the fire. His grandpa noticed how sad Orange was. He really wanted to see the fire. His grandpa sighed.

"Alright. We can look at the fire, but no touching." His grandpa said. Orange smiled. His grandpa carried Orange over to the close to the stove, but not to close.

Orange was so happy to see the fire, so happy that his eyes lit up. Literally. His grandpa panicked as his eyes were on fire. Bright orange flames glowed inside his eyes. He rushed him over to the sink turning the water on and splashing water on Orange's eyes. Orange started crying as the water hit his eyes. Once the fire in Orange's eyes disappeared his grandpa turned off the sink and looked into Orange's eyes.

Orange now stood in the kitchen, his little Orange onesie soaked with water as tears poured down his eyes. "Fia..." Orange said sniffling. His grandpa hugged him.

"Orange are you okay?" He asked.

"Fia." Orange said softly.

"I don't even know how your eyes managed to light on fire, we weren't close enough for that to happen." His grandpa said.

"I not like wat a." Orange said uncomfortably.

"I know, but we need to make sure your eyes didn't burn." His grandpa said. Orange pulled away staring at his hands. "Orange?" His grandpa questioned. Orange had a tense and focused look on his face. What was Orange doing? Orange rubbed his fingers together and soon a tiny red flame danced around on his finger tips. Orange smiled happily as his tail swung back and forth. The flames were under Orange's control his onesie wasn't even burning. His grandpa just stared in shock.

"I am fia!" Orange said proudly.

This was certainly surprising. Orange's grandpa knew about Blue and Magenta's powers, but still seeing a child manage to conjure flames with his mind was always a shocker. Of course his grandpa called his mother at work so she was aware of Orange's new ability.

Of course powers weren't the only abnormal thing they developed. They started to grow claws instead of finger nails and toe nails. Their teeth were sharp and almost fang like. It was extremely unsettling in some ways. Fangs were associated with dark and evil creatures like vampires. Braces wouldn't be able to fix the teeth since the teeth weren't crooked just sharp.

"Mommy what's your favorite color?" Magenta asked curiously. Given any other circumstance she would have been honest and answered pink, but her kids were rainbows. The other kids gathered around to hear the answer. She looked at Magenta's fangs they were frightening to be honest. So sharp and pointy, but then she looked at Magenta's sweet innocent eyes. She wasn't evil she wasn't going to grow up that way none of them would. They all looked so sweet. Such sweet little kids could never be evil.

"I don't have a favorite color. I love them all." She said as she ruffled Magenta's hair. Magenta let out a giggle and smiled.

"Mommy why doesn't Yellow talk?" Magenta asked. They looked over at Yellow who was hugging his stuffed penguin.

Yellow had trouble talking when he was really little he was a robot and didn't exactly understand English at first. Most of the times he looked really confused when someone tried to talk to him, but he was getting better. Iridessa had to teach him binary ones and zeros before he learned English and at this point he didn't really talk much in front of anyone except his mom.

"He just needs time Magenta." Iridessa said to her daughter. Magenta walked away sadly and went over to visit Yellow.

Green was currently crawling around of the floor of their play pin with a stuffed bear in his mouth. "Green. How many times have I told you we walk on our feet and don't put our toys in our mouths?" Iridessa asked. Green looked up at her.

"Mommy I'm a wolf." Green said crossed with her. She bent down to Green's level and picked him up taking the stuffed bear from his mouth and placing it in his hands. "I don't like holding things with my paws." Green said sadly.

She turned to look over and saw that Purple was once again biting his teddy bear. "Purple!" She yelled at him he dropped the teddy bear then stood up sadly. "Let me guess you think your a wolf too?" She asked him. Purple shook his head.

"I'm a va pia hiss!" Purple said. Magenta and Yellow sat nearby backing away. Yellow hugged his stuffed penguin close to his body not wanting Pablo to get bitten or carried around in Green's mouth.

"You two need to stop. Playing vampire and playing wolf is scaring your siblings!" Iridessa said. Purple and Green looked sad of course, but decided to listen to their mom.

"Now play nice. Look the Powerpuff girls our on why don't you watch it sit your siblings." Iridessa said. Green and Purple moved over to watch the TV.

Magenta really loved that show. Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice. It was kind of ironic since in a way the Vacktors were made in a laboratory with various chemicals. Some chemicals which gave them superpowers and other of mutations. Yellow enjoyed watching the cartoon as well. Yellow's favorite was Bubbles.

"Powerpuff girls." Yellow said. It was the first time he really talked in front of anyone except his mom. His voice sounded strange and a bit high pitched almost robotic. Magenta giggled when she heard Yellow speak. She thought he sounded like a robot.

Iridessa was so happy that Yellow spoke. "Good job Yellow." She said as she stuck her hand out to high five Yellow. He then took her hand it shook it. "We'll work on that later then."

Magenta crawled over and brought Yellow a toy robot. "Ro bot." Magenta said giggling. Yellow looked at the wind up robot toy and picked him up hugging him like he hugged Pablo the penguin. Magenta laughed at her weird brother. You aren't suppose to hug robots your suppose to control them. Magenta took the robot from Yellow and turned the wind up switch on the robot making him walk. Yellow seemed slightly uncomfortable watching Magenta control the robot. Yellow snatched the robot back and held him even closer to his chest not wanting Magenta to control him again. Magenta gave Yellow a funny look and walked over to her mom.

"Yellow does not play toys the right way." Magenta said.

"Magenta, Yellow is different from you. He just does things differently. It's okay to play with the toy robot that way." Iridessa told her.

"Okay." Magenta said. Magenta didn't exactly understand why Yellow wanted to hug the toy robot, but she wasn't going to judge she was just going to have fun with her brother.

End of those flashbacks

And as for the work that Iridessa had to do well let's just say she eventually found out what they wanted her to do and she had to disagree with it. What the work was well I'm sure you can figure it out, and if you can't all will be revealed in time.

Purple and Green felt embrassed about their childhood. Green still felt like a wolf at times and Purple couldn't help, but be fascinated with vampires.

"What what happened mom?" Red asked.

"Nothing you need to worry about." Their mom said.

"Does that make Doogle a bad company, because one day I might want to work there?" Red asked.

Now here Iridessa was trapped in an awkward situation. She knew that Doogle was doing dangerous and evil things, but telling Red might cause him to act on a desire to stop them. It could also be dangerous since Red is a mutant and may someday get locked up if he pursues a scientific career. Maybe she could just tell him not to pursue a scientific career since because they don't pay well or something like that.

Yellow interrupted. "Is it because they wanted to destroy me as a baby?" He asked.

"No. I mean uh. That was one of the disagreements, but that certainly did make me consider things." Iridessa replied.

"Um okay." Yellow said.

"Well Red, Doogle only wants money, they don't really truly want to change the world." Iridessa said. It was a half truth enough to make Red reconsider his thoughts on working for Doogle, but not enough truth for Red to be concerned about Doogle's dark plans.

"Um okay then." Red said. He wasn't really sure what to think and he didn't exactly like how long it took for his mom to answer his question, he began to wonder if she was hiding something from him. However, he had no real evidence that she was lying.

(I basically just made this chapter explaining why Yellow ended up coming home since he was originally a science project and not apart of the siblings)

(I was thinking of potential powers for Pink. Maybe a limited mind reading ability. Where it acts sort of like advanced instincts. Kinda like a lie detector. She wouldn't be able to know the whole truth she'd probably just be able to see if someone is lying

(It would work since Barney wanted her to be a cop and interrogate criminals)

(My favorite color is a dark blue, dark green, or black since I never answered 2MuchOfAFangirl's question)

(Just wanted to write this) (Hopefully it's not too confusing)
