High School stories part 1
(Time skip to High School)
(This is a sad chapter that talks about bullying) (and has some darker themes) (There will be some sad stuff)
Over the summer from graduating from eight grade to going into high school Purple started to change. He grew out his bangs so that one side of them covered one of his eyes. (Emo bangs) He also started listening to heavy metal music and wore a lot more black than he used to along with those spiked collar necklaces, and leather jackets. Everyone was a bit concerned especially since he started to distance himself from the family and he started becoming bitter, cold, and even angry. They tried to ask him if anything was wrong, but Purple just ignored then keeping to himself. They mostly just started to shrug it off saying he's going through his teenage rebellious phase. Gray didn't seem to think anything was unusual about his behavior, but this made since, since Gray was well Gray.
It was now the first day of high school which wasn't an actual real day, but more of an orientation to get used to what goes on in high school. It was also a day for incoming freshmen to look at clubs, and events that will take place at the school.
The Vacktors siblings were currently standing in front of a board with a bunch of flyers stapled to it reading the lists of all the clubs at school. Yellow was going down looking from flyer to flyer until his eyes went wide in excitement. He turned to Magenta
"Magenta they have a boys and girls cheerleading team here! We have to go try out!" Yellow said jumping up in down in excitement.
"Wait you want to be a cheerleader? Since when?" Magenta asked.
"Well I remember you mentioning cheerleading in middle school and that you wanted to join, but never had the time. And I kind of sort of looked into cheerleading and realized how much fun it would be. Cheerleaders are spirited and they make their classmates happy which is some thing I love to do make people happy, and I just sort of thought we'd both be able to do it together cause it will be so much fun." Yellow said happily.
"I can't believe you remember that..." Magenta said.
"Hey is something wrong? You still want to do it right?" Yellow asked.
"Yeah I do, I just never thought I'd have an opportunity to do it, but I guess now we have a chance." Magenta said with a smile. Yellow saw her smile and his smile became even bigger. Yellow and Magenta were both excited about the idea of doing something together. Yellow looked at the flyer and his eyes went wide.
"Hey they have tryouts today and tomorrow. We should go now!" Yellow said grabbing Magenta's arm and running down the hallway.
"Yellow can't you slow down?" Magenta asked. Struggling to keep up with his running speed as he dragged her with him.
"Nope!" Yellow said as he continued to pull Magenta with him.
With Yellow and Magenta gone Pink found a flyer for a STEM club.
"Hey science nerds." Pink said. Red turned to Pink and Purple slowly looked up. "They have a geek squad here so you can invent stuff." Pink said. Surprisingly for what seemed like the first time in forever Purple actually spoke up.
"I'm sorry that having a fully functioning brain deems us to be nerdy, but inferior people always mock those who are better than they are." Purple said with a tone of anger in his voice. Red turned toward his brother with worry and concern. Purple didn't use to sound so dark.
"You feelin okay?" Red asked.
Purple didn't respond. and Red reached out to talk the flyer that was in Pink's hand. "..hey maybe the two of us could join.." Red suggested as Purple turned to look at him. "We could invent stuff just like old times." Red said. He honesty felt slightly scared of talking to Purple since Purple had been acting slightly off recently.
"Oh I don't know I'm taking eight AP classes this year. I just don't know if I'll have the time." Purple said. Red was surprised that Purple didn't sound cold. "I'm just kidding I'll make time." Purple said as he smiled. Red was shocked seeing his brother smile for what seemed like forever.
"That's great. For a second there you had me worried." Red said.
"Why?" Purple asked.
"Y..your just been acting differently." Red replied.
"I'm grown up Red." Purple replied. Yeah grown. If grown up means dressing like some punk/emo rock band lead singer Red thought to himself. Purple narrowed his eyes. "I'm fine Red." He said. Red nodded, but he didn't really believe Purple for a second. Maybe joining a STEM club would help Purple act more like his old self or at least help him open up to his family about whatever was bothering him.
Orange was standing off by his own reading the art clubs flyer. It seemed like a good idea to him.
Blue considered joining the band, but was afraid of how the other kids would respond to him. Plus Blue is really shy he didn't know if it would be a good idea.
Cheerleading tryouts
(This is the sad part where people say mean things about Yellow)
(You might not want to read it because it's making fun of Yellow for being "feminine")
Magenta was happily waiting on a bench to wait for Yellow to try out for cheerleading. She had already tried out and the head cheerleader seemed to really like her. She was so excited about the idea of Yellow, and herself doing some fun together.
Magenta sat on a bench while Yellow went to go get a snack. He would be back in a few minutes. H asked if Magenta wanted to come or if she wanted something, but Magenta decided it would be a good time to see what the other cheerleaders were doing. She heard a lot of people's conversations. Something about a certain ceplopod being evil. She tuned that conversation ou. And just random stuff.
"Did you hear there's a boy whose gonna tryout?" The head cheerleader said. This conversation caught Magenta's interest.
"I heard." Another replied.
"It's weird right. Is he doing it to get girls?" A girl asked.
"I don't know. Did you see him wearing a flower crown?" One girl said with a snicker.
"I saw, but did you hear him actually speak. It's so high pitched like a robot or something." The first one relied.
"I know he's related to Magenta." A girl said.
"Poor soul." The head cheerleader said. "I'd hate to be related to someone that weird." She said continuing on.
"It kinda sounds like Fred and not in a good way." (Throwback to an old youtuber) a girl said.
"Or worse it sounds like a girls voice." The head cheerleader said. The other girls burst out laughing at her comment.
"He's almost as weird as that kind with a camera on his face." One of the girls said.
"I'm pretty sure that's just a mask." A girl said to the girl who made the pervious comment.
"Nu uh. It's totally real. I think he was in some horrible accident or something or he was created in a labatory." The first girl said.
Magenta felt confusion, sadness, and anger wash over her as she processed everything they said. At first she was confused about who they were talking about, but then it became clear. They were talking about Yellow. Yellow would crushed if he heard the cheerleaders talking to him, but he'd be crushed if he didn't become a cheerleader. He looked so happy about doing something fun with his sister. Magenta didn't want to hurt him or Cush his spirits, but Magenta didn't know what to do. There was no way she was going to let Yellow be around them. Magenta needed to do something. Maybe she could lie to Yellow? Say they aren't have tryouts or something..., but no lyings wrong. And Magenta isn't much of a lier. She's a rule follower. And lying is against the rules, but maybe just this once she tried to convince herself. No she couldn't go against telling the truth, but then again she did lie to people about being a hybrid. So maybe lying was okay if it was to protect someone.....
Just then she noticed Yellow skipping over to her. Oh great she was going to have to do something, either way Yellow would heart broken. Magenta got up and walked toward her brother.
"Hey Yellow..." Magenta said sadly.
"Hey I saw you tryout you did great!" Yellow said.
"Uh yeah..I just um I'm not feeling that well..." Magenta said. Yellow's smile dropped a bit.
"Uh okay. I'll take take you home if you're feeling bad." Yellow said. Magenta felt a bit better knowing her brother wouldn't be around these people. "Besides I can always come back tomorrow!" Yellow said. Magenta felt fear rise within her. Tomorrow? No Yellow can't come back he'll get hurt.
"Uh y..yeah." Magenta said. Oh what was she gonna do?
After coming home from the "first day of school"
"How was the first day?" Their mom asked.
"It wasn't an official day just kind of an orientation where they talked about stuff like clubs and let people check out the school, but yeah it was fine." Red said. Their mom nodded and the kids sat at the table talking as their mom made them something to eat.
"You really should join band Blue." Orange said.
"Yeah you'd be amazing!" Yellow said.
"I'll uh t..think ab..out it." Blue replied nervously.
Yellow started talking about being a cheerleader
Magenta got up and walked over to her mom.
"Mom I need to talk to you about something.." Magenta said hitting her lip. "In private." Magenta said.
Magenta and her mom went into another room
(This part is hurting my heart to write)
When they entered the other room they both sat down.
"Is everything alright?" Her mom asked.
"Sort of...I just...overheard some things.." Magenta said awkardly as she looked away. That vase was really nice.
"Do you want to talk about them?" Her mom asked. (Well obvisouly Miss Vacktor. I mean Magenta asked to talk in private why would she bring it up if she didn't want to talk about it?)
Magenta continued to look at that very pretty base it was nice it had lovely flowers and trees on it. A very pretty vase.
"It's just people well...the cheerleaders said things about..." Magenta said.
"Yellow?" Her mom asked.
"Y..yeah..." Magenta replied.
Yellow didn't have the same concept of gender stereotypes that most people did. His mom tried explaining them to Yellow when he was younger, but it just confused Yellow. She didn't what Yellow to get made fun of as a little kid.
No one wanted to see Yellow get hurt when he was a little child, but he was so quite always avoiding people and reading books. Which prevented people from really making fun of Yellow and hurting now, but now Yellow was different he was adventurous and he wanted to be around people, but he is a sensitive soul.
"I'll try to talk to him. I know you don't want him to get hurt." Her mom said.
"T..thanks." Magenta said awkardly.
Telling Yellow would hurt him, not telling Yellow would hurt him. Either way Yellow would probably get hurt......
Their mom decided to talk to Yellow.
"Yellow can I talk to you for a minute?" His mom asked.
"Sure." Yellow replied with a smile. She walked down the hallway to a room where no one else would be while Yellow skipped along side her. "What did you want to talk about?" Yellow asked as they arrived in the room. Miss Vacktor a shut the door and motioned for Yellow to sit down.
"Are you sure you want to be a cheerleader?" She asked.
"Of course I do. It's gonna be so much fun and Magenta will be there." Yellow said happily.
"Well do you even know how to do any of those stunts?"
"Of course I do, I can do backflip, splits, cartwheels all sorts of stuff. I took gymnastics for a few years when I was really little. You remember right? You wanna see?" Yellow said standing up. She put a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm just worried about." His mom started, but Yellow cut her off.
"About Magenta? Don't worry I can teach help her with her moves, or are you worried about well she'll be in math. I can tutor her. She won't fall behind or anything. If practice or something gets in the way." Yellow said.
"No, Yellow it's not that it's just um boys and girls are different and they..." His mom said.
Yellow have her a supious look. "We already had that conversation mom." Yellow said nervously.
"Yes I know, it's just girls and boys generally like different things." His mom said.
"Things?" Yellow asked.
"Well how do I explain this." Iridessa said. She didn't want Yellow to get hurt. He was so sweet, but also sensitive. She knew how judgmental people could be in high school and she didn't what to see Yellow get bullied for doing things that boys generally didn't do.
"Well you...uh Yellow girls like things... like pink."
"I like pink..." Yellow said.
"Well girls like stuff like nail polish and flowers." His mom said.
Yellow balled up his fists hiding his gold colored nail polish as he nervously took off his flower crown and set it to the side.
"Yellow..?" His mom asked. Oh great going didn't even notice his flower crown painted claws, or pink sweater. Mom of the year award.
"Boys don't have stuffed animal collections do they?" Yellow asked.
"Sweetie.." His mom said.
"I should grow up." Yellow said
"Yellow I didn't.." His mom said.
"You know it's okay." Yellow said faking a smile. There was one good thing about Yellow he was great at smiling and even better at faking happiness. He didn't need people to know how hurt he was.
"Yellow?" His mom asked.
"Thanks for letting me know I'm weird." Yellow said as he took off in a flash.
When he finally managed to get to his room and no one was around his smile dropped and he sat in silence.
He felt so embarrassed how come he never realized how weird he was before? No wonder he didn't have any friends except his siblings and well Barney I guess.
Yellow's POV
People were making fun of me for years and I didn't even realize it. I never thought I was that weird for being a nerd or liking books, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, stuffed animals, flowers, ponies. (I honestly could picture Yellow watching MLP) (He'd probably love Pinkie Pie) (I watched a MLP clip where Pinkie Pie got her cutie mark because a colorful rainbow hit and made her hair curly. It reminds me of Yellow being struck by the sun also Pinkie Pie wanted to smile forever and get her friends to smile too) (she's kinda like Yellow they both are hyper and want to spread happiness) (and they are crazy silly not crazy just silly)
There was this time when I was five years old and well. Looking back at it...
FLASHBACK TIME
Yellow didn't want to be a dinosaur like the rest of his siblings who decided they were going to wear their dinosaur onesies. Purple also wanted to go to the store to see if they had anything that was the color purple for boys. He for some reason never managed to find many purple colored clothes. The Vacktors liked their color the best and got disappointed if they couldn't find anything clothes that were their color. Pink easily managed to find clothes that were pink all the time so she was easily satisfied. Yellow and Purple however had troubles.
Little Yellow always got confused as to where all the yellow colored clothes went. Yellow want exactly a color that was often used for boys especially light yellow. Purple started to realize that he was a "girls color" based off of the things kids said to him at school.
Purple looked annoyed. He hated having to wrap his tail around his waist when he was in public it was uncomfortable and irritating. Purple walked around looking for something that was the color purple while Yellow was looking for Halloween costumes.
"Where are they?" Yellow asked with a disappointed face.
"Where are what?" Purple asked.
"All the fair.." Yellow said.
"What?" His mom asked.
"I wanna be a fairy prince." Yellow said with a cute little smile that lit up his whole face. His mom watched him. Yellow was just a child he didn't understand things.... (Yellow is so cute)
His face fell as he continued to speak. "But I guess all the boy costumes are gone.." He said picking up a fairy dress and looking at it with disapproval.
"You can still be a dinosaur." His mom said.
"But I don't wanna dress up as something I am." Yellow said.
"Then maybe you could dress up like a vampire." Purple suggested. Purple understood Yellow's struggle since Purple could never find anything that was purple.
"I don't like vampires. They don't like the sun." Yellow said. Even as a little kid Yellow loved the sun. It was big and round and yellow. Plus it provided light for planet Earth.
"I guess I could make one." His mom said. Yellow got the biggest smile on his face. He looked so happy.
Yellow was five so it would be okay if he dressed as a fairy. He was just a little kid. His mom worried what the other kids would say to Yellow if he dressed up like one, but little Yellow looked so happy with the idea of being a fairy.
That year Yellow was a happy little fairy
End of flashback
I really liked the Powerpuff girls, and gymnastics, and ballet. Ballet was sort of fun, I liked dancing a lot, but I never made any friends and eventually I quit.
I was really shy when I was like kind of like Blue. I didn't avoid people because I was obsessed with books or didn't care, I just felt shy and nervous around people a lot. I'm a genius just like Red an Purple and I had trouble talking to people so I just kept to myself a lot. I didn't really have this interest in science like they did. I tried to enjoy studying science, but it just never interested me. And I was well happy being alone I guess. I had my siblings to talk to so it wasn't really being alone, and now when I actually want to make friends everyone thinks I'm weird and now I see they've always thought I was weird. I was just too hyper and optimistic to realize it. Naive I guess.
And now my social anxiety is coming back! What am I going to do? I thought I got rid of this! I focused on other things like being happy and adventurous it distracted me from how nervous I get around people.
And then there's all these weird powers. Like light manipulation, super speed and strength, this weird sonic scream thing....
I guess the best thing to do is to change myself so I'll be happy.
It's hard to feel and express emotions that's why I like happiness. I never gave any trouble feeling or expressing joy, which means I'm suppose to be happy right? I glitch when I feel other things sometimes, and that scares me.
I look down at the smiley face on my onesie. It's my job to make people happy. I'm the happy one in the family and right now people aren't happy with me and I'm not happy. If I change maybe I'll make everyone else and myself happy. I'll probably be able to make friends that way and then I won't be lonely.
Third person POV
That night Yellow was in his be without his stuffed penguin Pablo. Red and Orange simply thought Yellow finally outgrew him.
Yellow didn't manage to sleep that night. Not that he needed it, he just had too much on his mind.
The next day Yellow came down for breakfast. His usual energetic and upbeat attitude was missing, instead of bouncy all around and laughing he came downstairs in a calm unenthusiastic manner that was so different from the Yellow they've grown to know. He was dressed in darker clothes than usual. Yellow generally wore colorful clothes or pastels, but today he was wearing black jeans, black shoes and a dark red hoodie.
"Are those my clothes?" Red asked. Yellow shrugged before answering.
"Maybe." Yellow said contorting his voice to sound more like Reds. (Think about Bowling with Yellow where Yellow sounds just like Red does)
Everyone stared in shock. Yellow sounded just like Red. "Is that my voice?" Red asked in shock.
"No, it's my voice." Yellow replied.
"Okay you really need to stop that it's creepy." Red replied. What was wrong with my brother? Red thought to himself, first he wears my clothes now my voice. Is he trying to mimick me or something?
"It's not creepy I'm just going through puberty." Yellow said with a tone of nastiness in his voice.
"Puberty? Your fourteen didn't you already go through that?" Green asked.
"Some mature later than others." Yellow said with a hint of anger in his voice.Again it was really creepy hearing him talk like that. Just imagine if someone you knew suddenly sounded exactly like someone else you knew. It's creepy.
"You seem pretty agressive though." Pink said. It reminded her Purple's attitude lately which could be described as bitter and cynical.
"I'm not I'm just annoyed with your questions." Yellow said sounding really tense. This "act of rebellion" or attempt to mimic Red was freighting and it reminded them of Purple who was going through an emo phase. Did Yellow turn goth? Or is he just...Red asked himself. Yellow walked over to the counter and picked up a banana he opened it and started eating it as he headed for the exit.
"Where are you going?" Pink asked.
"To school." Yellow replied as if the answer was obvious.
"You aren't gonna walk with us?" Pink asked.
"No. I don't see why I should." Yellow said.
"J..just like Pur..ple." Blue said sadly. Blue knew his family was falling apar they used to be so close when they were little why was everyone so distant now?
Red felt sad a bit thinking about Purple, well they all did. He ignored the family for the most part, the only thing that gave Red some hope that Purple was okay was that Purple agreed to sign up for the STEM program at school with him. The two of them building robots would hopefully bring them together.
Yellow grabbed his bag from the door and slung it over one shoulder and then walked out the house. Yellow didn't want to be around any of his siblings since he had a lot of thinking to do about how he'd reinvent himself. No one really noticed him yesterday so he'd still be able to change himself. If you do this people will love you and you'll finally be happy. Yellow told himself.
Time skip
Red an his siblings arrived at school to official start their first real day of school. Red had to admit he was pretty excited for high school, as were the rest of his siblings. Well Blue wasn't exactly excited he was worried, and apprehensive as usual, Purple was moody, Green didn't seem to care, Orange was interested in taking art, Yellow was acting strange, Magenta felt guilty blaming herself for Yellow acting so different, Pink wanted to see Barney again, serisouly that girl saw him all summer long. Young people in love I guess, and Gray well no one really knows what Gray feels, so yeah I guess I lied. Only Red is excited.
"Come on we can't be late for our first real day of high school." Red said.
"We won't now relax." Pink said.
"Sorry Green, I'm just trying to prepare for my future. I'm taking all AP and Honors classes."
"Why Red? Don't you want to have fun or have free time?" Orange asked. Geese his brother seemed to be a bit of a workaholic when it came to school work.
"Well I am having fun, I enjoy doing work. And I'm joining STEM club which will also look great on a college application, that and this will probably help me land my dream job of working at Doogle." Red said.
"Didn't mom get fired from Doogle?" Pink asked. Red narrowed his eyes.
"Mom said it was creative differences. Creative differences doesn't mean Doogle is evil." Red replied. Or does it? Red thought to himself. (Oh honey you have no idea)
"Anyways has anyone seen Gray or Purple?"
"I don't know. Purple's...he's been acting strange." Magenta said sadly. Red wanted to say something, but he didn't know what. Maybe it was those awkward teenage years or maybe it had something to do with the start of high school. No one really knew.
They walked over to go find their lockers.
Blue stared up at his locker. He tried to open it, but came across the problem of being too short to reach it. Blue was maybe 4'12 or 5'0 not any taller than that. Blue tried to stand on his tip toes to reach his locker, but still it was no use. Blue could feel people's eyes watching him as he tried frantically jumping up and down to reach his locker. Blue was suffering from short people problems as his brothers Orange and Yellow came up behind him.
"Hey Blue are you okay?" Yellow asked. Blue turned around after signing heavily. Some people looked at Yellow and had to do a double take when they realized who he was. They noticed that Yellow's voice sounded normal.
"I c..can't reach it." He said pointing up at his locker. A few people snickered at Blue's problems causing Orange to roar at them. The loud sound from the roar combined with vicious look Orange made caused the kids to freak out and run away. (Perks of being a dinosaur you can roar and bare your sharp teeth at people causing them to flee)
"You could switch lockers with me. I'm tall enough to reach it. I was given a bottom locker." Orange said.
"T..thanks Orange." Blue said with a small smile.
"Making people cry on your first real day of school Orange? I'm impressed. Maybe we are related after all." A voice said. The voice caused the three boys to turn to find its source.
"It's about time you showed up Gray." Orange said as Gray walked towards them.
"More like its about time you showed up. I was at school before you woke up." Gray replied.
"Why does that sound so ominous?" Orange asked.
"Everything I say sounds ominous." Gray replied.
"That is true, but have you seen Purple?" Orange asked.
"I haven't, but I'm more concerned with what Yellow's wearing." Gray said.
"I'm growing up that's all." Yellow said. Gray looked around for Red's voice before realizing it was coming from Yellow.
"Why do you sound like that?" Gray asked.
"I'm trying to change myself." Yellow said. He half expected Gray to answer with the word "Intersting" which was pretty much her answer to everything.
"And you decided to be Red?" Gray asked.
"Red actually does have some friends." Yellow replied. It was true Red had some normal friends. His ftrends though his siblings were weird, but he did have a few people to hang out with. "Why is there something wrong with that?" Yellow asked.
"I guess if it makes you happy pretending to be someone your not." Gray said.
And with that Gray left to head to one of her classes.

"Mag I'm glad to see your back." Said the head cheerleader who I'll call Jan when she saw Magenta. (Jan's just gonna be a random OC who is used because calling a cheer leader "head cheerleader" is weird)
"Uh yeah...I returned." Magenta said awkwardly.
"Yeah after you just left the other day I didn't think you would." Jan said.
"Well...I..." Magenta said trailing off. Jan seemed to realize why Magenta was being so awkward.
"Well Mag your brother he really is weird, but I won't hold that aganist you." Jan said.
"Uh.. Y..yeah." Magenta said.
"Mag you'll do great. We all saw you yesterday and you've got what it takes to be on the squad. Some people like your brother just aren't meant for cheerleading." Jan said. Magenta just kind of stood there awkwardly.
"Also why are you named after a color?" Jan asked.
"No particular reason..." Magenta said.
"Well you should cheer up get it cause your a cheer leader. Also some of those guys are checking you out." Jan said. Magenta had a confused look on her face. "It means they like you honey." Jan said. Magenta smiled and waved at some of the guys. "Now that's more like it!" Jan said.
(I'm gonna create a second part to this) (I had to create more than one part or else the entire part would be over 10 thousand words long and I wasn't even finished with it yet!)
(These chapters have been hard to write and hopefully they make sense)
(I just figured Yellow whose really happy and adorable would think cheer leading is cool) (I also figured this would be a good background story for Yellow add to his character I guess)
