Camping trip part 5

-Timeskip-

"Gray? What are you doing out here?" Yellow asked.

"Thinking." Gray replied.

"About what?" Yellow asked.

"Many things." Gray replied.

"Like what?" Yellow asked.

"Plans." Gray said.

"What kind of plans?" Yellow asked.

"All sorts of plans." Gray said.

Yellow was slightly annoyed that Gray wasn't really answering the questions. He always knew Gray was mysterious always disappearing and reappearing never really letting anyone know what she was up to or thinking.

"Can I think with you?" Yellow asked. He figured maybe talking to Gray would be a good idea.

Gray didn't say anything she just continued sitting on the log with an expression that was impossible to read. Yellow decided to sit down next to her. Yellow began to wonder if Gray was okay. No one ever truly knew if Gray was happy or not she didn't show emotion much, sometimes she would be less expressive than Green and Green could be pretty indifferent or apathetic in situations.

"Gray can we talk. I mean I get if you don't want to we just never-" Yellow said before he was cut off.

"Okay." Gray replied.

"Really? Cause you never seem-" Yellow said.

"What do you wish to converse about?" Gray asked.

"I just..." Yellow said.

"You just what?" Gray asked as she for the first time stared into Yellow's eyes. Yellow felt slightly uncomfortable with her unblinking gray eyes staring into his golden yellow ones.

"I just sometimes feel like..." Yellow said. Gray continued to stare at Yellow in that "im looking into your soul way" and Yellow decided to tell Gray what was bothering him.

"I sometimes I feel like I don't live up to my potential." Yellow said.

-Yellow has a flashback-

Red, Purple, Yellow, and Gray were in the principles office one day. Their mom had to leave work early saying she was having a family emergency with her newphew and that her siblings couldn't pick him up. She was ready to scold her children for whatever they did that landed them in the principals office. She was incredibly surprised when the principal mentioned how brilliant her children were and wished to send them to a school with gifted and genius children such as their selves.

Their mom was against the idea she wanted her kids to try to live as normal a life as possible and moving them up with kids who were older would make it even harder for them to make friends. Plus the Vacktors loved staying together when they were kids and their mom didn't want to break up their bond.

After that day their mom really pushed her kids into becoming scientists like she was. She thought it would be a good path to go down. Red and Purple obvisouly enjoyed it a lot. Gray well who knows if she enjoyed it. She did do what she was asked, but Gray always has an impossible to read expression on her face or a glare.

Yellow would always try to do anything, but what his mom wanted him to do. Yellow would paint pictures of read a book and get bored whenever he was asked to help with a project or an experiment.

Yellow just felt he was disappointing his mom since he wasn't like Red or Purple.

"I'm not doing what everyone wants me to do which is why no one likes me." Yellow said.

"I tried to make friends in school and do things I liked and that didn't work. I tried to be Red and that didn't work either-" Yellow said getting cut off.

Yellow do you remember that time that I got a toy pony?" Gray asked.

"I..I y..yeah." Yellow said.

Flashback

Miss Vacktor brought home some toys for her kids. Since she had nine kids they often had to share their toys with the others, but today she had a toy for each of them to play with. For the boys she got them each a toy car and for the girls a toy pony. Everyone seemed really exited about the new toys. Blue opened up his car and got the other boys to start racing them. Pink and Magenta played with their ponies. For awhile Yellow was happy playing with his toy car, but he got curious as to what the girls were doing and looked over at them. He saw the toy ponies and he became curious. Yellow toddled on over to and looked at Gray's toy pony with curiosity. Gray noticed Yellow was looking at her pony with fascination and handed it to Yellow. Yellow liked the toy pony it made him feel happy. Yellow still liked toy cars it's just he and his brothers had plenty of toy cars, but none of the boys owned a toy pony.

Gray didn't care that Yellow was playing with her toy, she wished she would have been given something else to interact with since she didn't really want a toy pony. She would have preferred a car. Their mom came over and saw Yellow had wandered away from his brothers and decided to put him back where he belonged. Yellow smiled as he was picked up because he didn't know how to express his feelings. The kids were placed inside play pens to discourage Yellow from wandering off again. Yellow felt sad now that he was separated from the toy pony that he enjoyed so much. Yellow wanted to go play with the pony again. He toddled over to the "gate" of the play pen and managed to unlock it. He always was a smart little kid. He picked up his toy car and toddled on over to the play pen with the girls in it.

He opened up the girls play pen and brought his toy car for Gray to play with and Gray handed him her pony. And all of the kids were happy. "Yellow how did you get out of your play pen?" His mother asked. Little Yellow looked up at his mom with big golden eyes. "And now you've stolen Gray's toy again!" His mom said.

"Momma." Yellow said as his tail drooped.

"Yellow I just can't believe you'd do something like this. You were always so sweet to your sisters." His mom said. Yellow just looked at her.

"I gave Yellow the pony." Little Gray said. Gray didn't like that Yellow was getting in trouble since she gave Yellow the pony in the first place.

"Gray please don't take the blame for your brother stealing your toys and escaping his play pen." Her mom said to her.

"And then I got sent to the corner for a time out because I wouldn't stop stealing your toys. And I kept being "bad"" Yellow said.

"Eventually mom realized that I was "feminine". That I liked the Powerpuff girls, fairies, stuffed animals you know stuff like that. She felt really bad for being so hard on me when I was really little." Yellow said.

"And then I started watching romantic comedies-" Yellow said as he was cut off by Gray.

"Oh no not the romantic comedies. I hated having to watch those." Gray said with a chuckle.

"Yeah I remember you looked really relived when I took over your spot." Yellow said.

"Mom tired to get all three of of us girls to have something in common and she picked watching cliche Hallmark and romantic movies. Magenta and Pink enjoyed them. And I remember one day you were curious as to what we were watching and I told you "the worst movies ever made" and you said "that sounds like fun." You feel in love with the movies and I was never asked again to ever watch a cheesy movie." Gray said.

"Hey your just different from most girls, but that's okay." Yellow said.

"And same with you. You are not crazy or weird just different from most people." Gray said.

"No I'm not Gray sometimes wrong with me! Everyone else can see it!" Yellow yelled.

Gray didn't say anything she just looked at Yellow.

"I sleep with a stuffed animal. I'm sixteen I shouldn't be doing that! It's not normal!" Yellow said.

Gray continued to listen.

"Even as a baby I was well kinda weird." Yellow said.

Flashback

Yellow didn't really have biological needs so he wasn't checked on that often. There were other babies who needed attention. When they checked on Yellow he was smiling. Always smiling. A happy perfect little baby. Naturally everyone thought Yellow was okay so they left him alone, but Yellow wasn't okay. Yellow wasn't all that happy, but he looked happy. He always looked happy even when he wasn't. Kind of like dolphins. Dolphins always look happy even if they aren't. See Yellow didn't know how to stop smiling. He tried to stop smiling, but he didn't really know how. He didn't know how to express his true emotions. He couldn't cry so everyone thought he was okay. Yellow was lonely as a baby and craved attention from his mom and grandparents. He just didn't know how to get what he needed. Eventually Yellow learned that if he made noises he would get people's attention, which caused Yellow to start thrashing back and forth.

"I didn't even act like a normal baby. I couldn't show emotion I still can't. I still don't understand people's thoughts or feelings.

"I'm sure mom thought something was wrong with me and I don't blame her if she did cause I know sometimes wrong with me." Yellow said.

Gray continued to listen to Yellow talk about how strange he was he went on talking about it for awhile.

"I know everyone wants to me to be like Red and become a scientist. " Yellow said.

"Is that what you want to be?" Gray asked.

"Well no I just-" Yellow said getting cut off.

"Yellow you always seem to be worried about pointless things such as getting people to like you. Why?" Gray asked.

"I'm just sad cause I can't get people to like me cause I'm freak." Yellow said.

"No one likes me. They all fear me." Gray replied. Yellow wasn't sure if Gray enjoyed people earring her or not.

"You will not be happy if you keep trying to be a people pleaser. I could easily get everyone to love me, but I would not be myself. I would be someone else and I never want to do that. People truly would not like me then." Gray said.

"You are happier when you do what you like." Gray said.

"Besides I am certain some day you'll find happiness. And the key to that is to love oneself." Gray said.

Yellow seemed a bit better realizing Gray didn't really fit in either and that she seemed okay with it.

"Thank you Gray." Yellow said. Then Gray did the most unexpected thing. She reached over and hugged Yellow. Yellow looked shocked Gray never ever hugged anyone let alone touched anyone or let them touch her. Gray had an "aura" of "leave me alone" yet for some reason she decided to hug Yellow. Yellow didn't know how to respond or what to think or feel. He just let it happen. He decided to hug her back. Maybe that was a good idea, after awhile Gray stopped hugging him.

"Gray? Why are you out here?" Yellow asked.

Gray gave a smile most likely pleased that Yellow was taking some concern into what was going on with her. "I have my reasons." Gray replied and with that she stood up and left.

That's Gray for you confusing, mysterious, insightful, knowledgable.

(I just wanted Gray and Yellow to hang out felt like a good idea)

-Timeskip-

There you guys are." Yellow said happily. Purple and Magenta saw Yellow emerge from the trees. "Come on we have to roast hotdogs and eat s'mores. You can't miss s'mores they are a gift to the world so pure so chocolatelty!" Yellow said bouncing up and down. Magenta and Purple both laughed if there was one thing Yellow liked it was sugar, if there was one thing Yellow loved it was being with his family and eating sugar. Yellow helped both Purple and Magenta off the logs and he started skipping back towards the trees.

The others ran up and saw Yellow, Magenta, and Purple. Barney out of breath asked "H..how's are you so fast Yellow's?"

Yellow looked nervous and awardly looked around a bit. "Um uh lots of glucose and caffeine." Yellow said.

"No ways your toos fasts." Barney said. Yellow just awkardly shrugged.

Everyone walked back to camp except Yellow who skipped.

-Everyone back at camp-

"This trip wasn't that bad." Pink said.

"Well you weren't the one who got scared by a bear." Orange said.

"Right yes the scary "bear"" Pink said mocking Orange.

"Hey it was real I don't care what anyone says." Orange said.

"What were you and Purple doing in the woods anyways Maggie?" Yellow asked.

"Oh well Purple and I had a pleasant chat." Magenta said happily.

"So Purple can actually talk to people?" Orange asked.

"I guess so instead of brooding all the time." Red replied.

"Yeah girls don'ts really likes the broodings types." Barney said.

"Back off you *creeps* I'm never gonna find the girl of my *dreams*" Purple said. (I just wanted to make this pun)

Everyone thought Purple would be upset, but he let out a small smile.

Everyone for the most part had a good time sitting around the fire eating s'mores

"They're so good. I need smore s'mores!" Yellow said.

Gray sat there watching everyone. Thinking.

Little did they know that in a year from now everything would change. And change can be a good thing. Change can bring new friends, new adventures, happiness, but it can also bring misery. This kind of change is going to affect everyone, because not everyone will be here.....

(Hopefully this chapter wasn't that rushed and hopefully it made sense. I gotta get the story moving along)

(Y'all are not going to like the next chapter 😈)
