Author's POV

It's been 2 months since Varun and Deepika met each other and Priya and Vikram proposed to each other. Priya and Vikram are so happy that they are going to get engaged in a month while Varun and Deepika are struggling with themselves how to propose to each other. Their relationship has grown well within these two months. Deepika can clearly say that Varun loves her and she loves him back of course. While Varun is confused about whether Deepika loves him. It's a Wednesday today. Priya was observing her best friend throughout the class. She was not the usual. She took Deepika with her to a nearby cafe to talk. Priya ordered while Deepika was already zoning out.

Priya: Eii!! Deepu!! Enna aachu unakku? Pei aranja maari irukka?(Deepu!! What happened to you? Why are you like this?)

Deepika: Adhu onnum illa Di... I'm confused.... ( That... It's nothing girl. I'm just confused)
Priya: About what?
Deepika: About your Anna, Varun...
Priya: Varun? Did you start to love him? Don't worry he loves you too. Confusion cleared ah? When are you going to tell him?
Deepika: Not about that di... I know that he loves me so much... I'm not sure whether I'm correct for him... I don't know whether Gautham will accept our love...
Priya: You are indeed correct for him di... You know that he loves you and you love him back. What's needed other than this? See here, no one is born for anyone. And no one is a perfect couple. I know that you both would be happy. As for Gautham anna... We can speak to him da... Understand... Seri, innaiku namma school reunion irukula, nee varuva la? (Ok, you're coming to our school reunion today right?)

Priya asked trying to cheer up her best friend to which Deepika nodded positively.

Priya: Finally!!! Ok, let's go shopping. Come on!!

Deepika and Priya went shopping and went to Priya's house as the reunion will only start at 6. It was only 2 pm when they reached the house. Priya left Deepika alone as she asked for it and went to the balcony. She got a notification from the school group that most of them are coming with a partner.

    Her heart is asking her to call Vikram but her mind is warning her not to disturb him while her hands dialled his number unconsciously. He picked the call in two to three rings.

Priya: Umm... Vikram, do you have work tonight? Like... Will you go late to home?

Vikram: Yeah ammu. I have some work today. Why da? What happened? You wanna meet?

Priya: No no... Nothing like that. I just wanted to know. That's it.

Vikram: Are you sure?

Priya: Yeah. Yeah.

Vikram: Ok da, how did you call now? You have class right now right?

Priya: No. I and Deepika bunked and went shopping for our reunion.

Vikram: Reunion? What reunion?

Priya: School reunion pa. Evening 6ku. Ecr la.

Vikram: You'll return home late? How will you go alone?? Do you want me to come with you?

Priya: No yaar. Deepika is coming with me. We'll manage.

Vikram: Are you sure ammu?

Priya: Yeah yeah. Go and see your work. I'll call you after reaching the venue. Bye 👋

Priya hanged up the call and went inside to see Deepika being so happy again. 'Finally' she thought to herself and went towards her best friend.

Priya: What happened? My baby is back to form ah? Who is the reason for that? Varun?

Deepika: Yeah but no. I'm happy but not because of Varun. Gautham anna called me suddenly and asked whether I love someone. He also said that he will accept him if he's a good guy.

Priya: Really? Gautham anna said this? For real? I'm sure that he will accept Varun. He is his best friend over all. Yayyyy!!

They both talked for a while and started getting ready for the reunion. They both reached the Avenue by cab. They arrived at their destination by 6:30 pm.

Priya's POV

I got ready in a white Anarkali.

    I and Deepika entered the venue of our reunion. It was a small party to chit chat with our old friends. The party was not yet started.

   Almost everyone from our batch was present there. I took a journey into the past seeing them. The times we would eagerly wait for a games period, completing our Maths assignment just before the class. Everything was so fresh in my mind. A small smile crept at the corner of my mouth thinking about them.

     I was taken aback when I felt someone tapping my shoulder. It was Samar aka "My Thambi" (Younger brother) I used to call him thambi, even though he is elder to me. We talked for a while when the event started.

    Renu and Vani, the mean duo of our batch headed towards the stage to start the event. Unfortunately, these are the hosts of the evening. They both welcomed every one of us using the mean nicknames they kept during our school days.

    Deepika's nickname was V's D. She was actually rumoured to be Varun's girlfriend back then. They are gonna date in the future so Deepika was basically not annoyed by the name they were calling her right now.

   Mine was "The sanyasi"(hermit) as I didn't even have a crush back then. What will I do? Our schoolboys were not even appealing back then. It's not my fault you know?

   Those girls were boasting about their boyfriends while we the single, umm... Basically all the singles and the people without a partner were listening to them as if we were interested in it.

  Finally, they both turned towards me.

Vani and Renu: Oh... See who is here!! It's our SANYASI.

Priya: Umm... I gue-

Vani: Oh darling! You don't have a partner?

Renu: How will she have Vani? Don't you remember our school days? No boy would see her. Do you think that she has a boyfriend now?

Ughh!!! These girls... I turned to my right to see Deepika who was fuming in anger. I held her hand to calm her down and silenced her as she was about to shout at them.

Renu: Priya, see this is my boyfriend, Rahul. Do you know? He is the inspector of this area.

Me: Ohh... Good to see you, bro. I smiled at him and shook his hand.

Renu: See how he is. So well built... So handsome...

Here she goes again🙄

Vani: Priya, we can introduce you to our colleagues if you want to...

Renu: Vani... She would obviously want to but think about our colleagues... They might not want to right? Like, who would want to?

Ok!! This is my limit!!

Me: Exc-

Rahul: Good evening sir!! Inspector Rahul reporting!!

Rahul wished a person who was standing behind me.

WHY THE HELL DID HE COME HERE YAAR!!!

I know who is it... I didn't mind turning back because who would miss this fun in front of me. Those girls' faces... Deepika laughed out loud while I was struggling hard to control my laughter.

That person came close to me and stopped when there was only a few inches gap between us.

"Is it a new trend to introduce boys to girls who already have a fiance? And... Who said that no one would look at her? Am I invisible to you guys? How can I take my eyes off from this beauty"
He said resting his chin on my shoulder.

I was not able to control my laughter anymore... Their faces😂😂

I turned around to face him and asked

"Maams... How are you here?"

"All credits to my sister... Deepu"

I looked at Deepu in confusion while she just showed her phone infront of my face. This girl called him yarr... He heard the whole conversation.

"Ok ok, it's already 7. Come let's go and have some starters." I dragged Vikram towards the dining area which was near the dance floor. We started to eat some French fries while Deepika was already immersed in her dinner.

   Suddenly my batch mate Anu came and started talking with Vikram.

Anu: Umm... Hello!! I am Anu... You're Priya's brother right? May-

She wa interrupted by a friend. She walked away saying that she would come after a while. Good for her. Without even a second's gap, there is another girl talking to him. God!! See, I can understand that he is handsome and I know that he's much more astounding in his white shirt and khaki pants. But... HE IS MINE...

I went to him and clutched his arm while the girl was busy flirting with him.

"See darling, I'm so sorry. But he's already taken and has a beautiful sweet fiance. So, shut up and go away. Ok?" I said to her with a smile to which she frowned and went away.

Me: Yov!! Why can't you say that you already have a girlfriend?

Vikram: I was waiting for you Ammu...  I could not have seen your cute jealousy...

Priya: Haan... Haan... Don't try to butter me up. Buy me ice cream 😋.

Vikram: Ayyoo... My baby... You're literally a baby. Ok come let's go...

He rushed towards the door clutching my hand. I sat back on his bike and that's when reality struck me... DEEPIKA.

Me: Maams... Deepu?

Vikram: hm... Someone will take care of her. He said with a smirk.
