Author's POV

Hey!!! It's the day!!! Vikram and Priya are going to meet each other. come let's see what's happening. 

       Priya's house was in buzz. Her mother was roaming all around the house making sure everything was right. Here, our lazy goose was still sleeping.  "Priya!!! naan Daily ore raamayanatha paadanuma, seekrama elundhuri seekrama elundhuri nu? Time 7:30 achu" (Priya!! Should I shout every day to wake you up? The time is 7:30 AM right now!!) Shantima was shouting at top of her lungs to which finally, Priya replied, "Amma nee venumna adha record panni vechuttu daily potuvidu. Nee soldradhu enakku manapaadam aagidichu"(Maa.. You do one thing. You better record this rant and play it every morning) and woke up.  Soon,  Deepika arrived at her best friend's house to keep her company. She also helped Priya to drape a beautiful green-colored kanjeevaram silk saree with a red border.

It was 8:47 AM when Vikram and his family reached Priya's house. Her grandfather and her mother welcomed them inside and asked them to sit. Aditi was doing her brother's part in being excited while Vikram was just talking to Shantima and Murugan (Priya's Grandfather) about his work and stuff.

Here, Priya was being so nervous about seeing him. Deepika was making jokes to ease her mood.

Deepika/Priya

"Priya... Nee vandhavan thalapathy Vijay maari irupaan nu nenachu ivlo bayapudura but vandhavan thalaivasal Vijay maari irundha Enna pannuva? So, theva illama bayapudaadha" (Priya, you are tensed thinking that the one who came would be so handsome but what if turns out to be someone not looking good? So, don't get tensed. Be calm.)

"Eyy. Ennadi soldra? Naan mogatha paathu laam kalyanam pannamaaten. Character olunga irukanum. Seri..... Nee poi paathutu vaayen." (What? I'm not gonna marry a person just because he is handsome, he should have a good character too. Ok.... Go and see how he is.)

As Priya was nudging her, she didn't have any other option. She came out and took a glance at Vikram. He's indeed handsome with those cute dimples and a beautiful smile. But the little devil in Deepika woke up and decided to tease her friend. She came to the room with an expressionless face and looked at Priya with pity.

"Eyy. Ennadi aachu? Eppadi irukaan?" (What happened? How is he?)

Deepika stood silent without speaking. This made Priya fear more. Finally after a few seconds, Deepika opened her mouth and said,

"Illa Di... Adhu... Avan thalaivasal Vijay maari irundhaalum parava illa Avan adha Vida mosama irukaan😔" (Actually he's not even average)

Priya indeed felt upset but was telling herself, 'No no, you shouldn't judge him based on his looks. Don't think anything'

Soon, Shanthi ma came and called her down. She climbed down the stairs without even lifting her head. She came down and finally saw Vikram. Her blood started to boil and she wanted to punch Deepika in her face.

     She turned and gave Deepika a death glare to which she looked sheepishly at her. She once and looked at Vikram and this time she caught Vikram staring at her. They both came back from their world when they heard Murugan saying, "Aprom, can we fix the engagement date?"(Then, can we fix the engagement date?)

They were about to discuss but Priya interrupted saying, "Arey!! Excuse me? What's happening? I didn't even talk with him." She turned to Vikram and said, "You. Yes, you. Come inside I want to talk with you." She then turned to Lakshmi, Vikram's mother with a happy and cheerful face and said, " Hi Aunty I will take your son for few minutes, umm... Maybe be more than that. Please excuse me, Haan. And why are you all nervous? It's me who has to be nervous. Ok, I'll give you guys a treatment do this as I do."

"This is.." VENKY AASANA Both Vikram and Priya said in unison. Everyone laughed and Priya dragged Vikram inside. Only after taking him to his room, she realized that her room is a mess. She started cleaning while Vikram was looking around. A childhood pic of Priya caught his eyes.

A/N: This is Priya. This is the revelation I was talking about.  And, Don't search for this picture anywhere online because this is not a childhood pic of any celeb. This cute little girl is me😌

"Cute" Vikram said looking at the pic. Priya turned around and eyed him asking  What?

"Umm... This picture" he said signaling the picture on the study table.

They both sat on the edge of the bed opposite to each other. The awkward silence was broke by Priya.

"Hi! Even though it's not an interview, I would like to introduce myself. I'm Priya and I'm 21. They would have said that I'm studying 4th year in law. It's indeed true but I want to add something else to it too. I want to become an interior designer. So yeah, I am gonna study interior designing after law. I have not even talked about this to my mother yet. I am telling you this because, if at all we get married and then you object to it, then we will start fighting. Ughh.. such a headache la. And the most important thing, I have never been in love. I didn't even have a crush on somebody till now. I'm not talking about celebrity crushes. I'm talking about the people you meet irl. So yeah, since I didn't have any crushes, I didn't have any one-sided love and the result is I have not been in a relationship in my whole life.  I don't know what else to say about myself so I am ending it here. You can ask any other thing if you wanna know about me."  She finished saying everything in a single stretch.

"Ok. Before introducing myself, please breathe and drink water." Priya did as he said and after seeing her relaxed he continued,

   "I'm Vikram. I'm 26 and I'm the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chennai" Priya's eyes bulged out after hearing this. "DCP? They said you are a police officer." "A DCP is also a police officer madam." Priya smiled at him sheepishly and asked him to continue.

  "So yeah, As I said I'm the DCP of this city. I love my family so I expect my wife to do the same. Coming to love, I had few crushes but nothing turned into love. I guess that's all about me." 

"No questions?"

"Umm.. no. You can ask me any if you want."

"I really want to ask you few. I just wanted to know your taste. Let me ask you few questions and answer them without thinking. Ok?"

"Ok"

"Your fav director-music director combo?"

"ARR and Manirathnam"

"Your fav actor and music director combo?"

"Surya and Harris Jayaraj"

"Ok, ok, the most important question... Indian or continental cuisine?

"Food"

"Oh my- 😲 You're exactly like me Yaar." Priya squealed. Vikram chuckled at her.

"Ok. As I said I don't have any questions, Do you wanna say something else?"

"Yeah. so, like others, I don't like saying that you'll be my life. You'll be a part of my life but a major part. And I don't like celebrating birthdays. I am not saying that I won't wish anyone. I just don't like making someone feel special only on their birthdays. If you really love that person, then you have to make them feel as if every day is their birthday. And yeah, coming to loving your family, I already like them. Whether you say yes or no to this marriage, I'll come and visit them. One more  important thing I'll get married only after finishing law."

After thinking for a while, Vikram said, "Let me be honest. I feel like you are the one. I'm not telling this without thinking. I have seen many girls but you are something different. Not only the way you look but also your character.  I'm not asking you to like me back right now. But, let's be friends. I'm pretty sure that we will go to the next step. And yeah, I don't have any problem with marrying after two years. We can get to know more about each other in the meantime."

"Yaar!! Tell me the truth!! Are you a police officer or a mind reader? I was thinking the exact thing and was wondering how to tell you. But, Neenga police naan lawyer, neraiya adichika vendiyadhu varum parava illaiya?"(You're a policeman, I'm a lawyer... There will be many fights between us... Is that okay with you?)

"Adikradhuku neenga ready na Pudichikrathuku naanum ready."( If you're ready to fight with me, even I'm ready to coo you)

"Appo ok but enakku indha neenga vaanga ponga nu laam koopda pudikaaddhu. Ippove solliten aprom purushana ipdilaam soldriya nu keka koodaadhu. Ok va?" (Ok then. But, I will not address you formally. Is it ok?)

"Seringa maharani" (Ok m'lady)

      They both looked at each other like two teenagers in love looking at their crushes. They both went back to the living room. Everyone was watching them as if some India Pakistan Match is going on. They nodded yes looking at each other. Aditi and Deepika squealed and hugged Priya. Everyone was talking about their engagement.

     Priya was talking with Deepika. She signalled Vikram to come. He mouthed that he couldn't hear her. She signalled him to come again. He understood but wanted to tease her so he was acting as if he can't understand what's she is saying. After a few unsuccessful tries, Priya got fed up and said, "Yov DCP vaaya inga"  From the tone she called him, He knew that if he says that he can't understand again, she'll shout the same thing so that everyone could hear. Since he didn't want to embarrass himself, he went and stood next to her.

    She gave him a death stare and introduced Deepika to him. "Here is the most important person in my life. Deepika. This girl is with me for  16 years. She knows the best of me. She would be your competitor too. So, why I called you here is, she wanted to ask you some questions. I'll give you 10 seconds, get ready for the interview"

Interview? Can he answer whatever Deepika asks him? Let's see about it in the next part

Hey bubblies,

I didn't upload yesterday because I was not feeling well. So there will be two parts today. I didn't include Deepika's interview in this part just because I thought that it would be a cliffhanger. I know almost every one of you has guessed what it would be😅.  Please tell me how you guys feel about this book.
