Jungkook hurried straight to the hotel after school, hoping the phone's Hoseok had ordered for them had arrived so they could all communicate again.
Namjoon had mentioned going to see Seokjin last night, and Jungkook was praying the genius had managed to convince Seokjin to come back to them.
They needed him and Jimin before they could all work on getting Yoongi and the alters-
He stopped suddenly, whipping his head around to see-
-nothing.
He frowned, listening intently for any more sounds like he could have sworn he had heard just behind him.
The trees swayed in the wind, and a car drove past, but that was it.
He slowly turned back around, and resumed running, a little faster this time.
-
Devastation hit him hard when Namjoon broke the news to him.
"I tried." Namjoon had his head in his hands. "Whatever they did to his brain, they did a lot of, and repeatedly. I don't know if it's even possible to help him anymore. We might have to-"
"Don't say that." Taehyung ordered sharply. "We will save him."
"Tete's right." Jungkook walked to the table, where a small package sat. "One small meeting wasn't going to un-brainwash him. We just need more time with him, and to figure out exactly what they did so we can undo it, bit by bit. Meanwhile, look on the brightside- the phones are in!"
He tossed one to each of them, and they all programmed them on, sharing their new phone numbers.
Taehyung immediately downloaded a bunch of idle apps.
Namjoon, wanting to have a win after losing Seokjin, jumped to his feet. "Let me talk to Jimin, see if I can't threaten that Cho guy into calling off the engagement."
Jungkook's heart clenched when he pictured his baby and what Jimin must be going through when he was alone with someone like Cho.
"I'm coming too." Taehyung decided. "The more the merrier!"
"Let's wait for Hoseok." Namjoon said. "He should be over soon. His parents won't let him take Cassie anymore so he has to walk now."
"Yours and Seokjin's parents are terrible, but Hobi's are animals!" Taehyung shuddered at the thought of having butler privilege's revoked.
-
"So what's the plan?" Hoseok punched his fist as they walked up the sidewalk to Cho's. "Me and Tae hold him down while Julybug and Gukks go ham on his ass?"
"July?" Namjoon blinked.
"No, we can't hurt him." Jungkook warned them. "We'll get arrested for assault, and we'll be the ones taken away instead of Cho."
"He's right." Namjoon sighed. "We need to get Jimin away from him, clear his head from all those lies so he can think for himself. I bet that asshole is constantly lying and forcing Jimin into subspace so he can't leave the relationship."
"I just need a few minutes to talk to Jimin, unbothered." Jungkook thought. "I can reach him if I have just a minute to get through to him without Cho bursting in and ruining it."
"Us three will distract him and Jungkook, go around back and see if there's any doors or windows unlocked." Namjoon planned.
Jungkook nodded, breaking away from the group as they neared the house.
He ducked behind some bushes and listened to the sound of Namjoon pounding on the front door.
"Cho! Get your ass out here!"
Jungkook peered out, seeing the bully step outside with a scowl.
"What, first the bunny and now his gang?" Cho scoffed. "When will you accept Jimin is happier with me?"
Jungkook growled, forcing himself to ignore the boy as he quickly raced from the cover of the bushes to the backyard.
The windows were all closed, but when he tried pulling the screen door open, he was relieved to find it unlocked.
He peered inside, not seeing his pink haired baby anywhere and he slowly crept in.
He could hear voices up front and tiptoed into the living room, shutting the door behind him.
"Jimin," He whispered, then again, a little louder. "Jimin!"
There was no reply, so he hurried up the stairs opening each door until he finally found the boy, sprawled out on the carpet of a bedroom, surrounded by toys and games.
Jimin looked up when Jungkook entered and smiled, waving a doll. "Hi! Wanna play?"
"Jimin, are you okay?" Jungkook couldn't hold back from hugging the boy tightly.
Jimin giggled. "Yeah, Diminie great! Got toys!"
Realizing the boy had slipped, Jungkook settled down in front of him, picking up another doll. "Wow, you have some really cool toys! Did Cho buy them for you?"
"Daddy buyed them for Diminie cuz Diminie was best boy for his daddy." Jimin nodded, picking up some stuffed animals and hugging them tightly.
"Diminie is always a good boy." Jungkook agreed and Jimin beamed at the praise, giving his stuffed elephant to Jungkook.
"But is da-" Jungkook gagged, forcing himself to say it, "daddy a good boy? Cho? Is he nice to Diminie?"
Jimin nodded, pouring imaginary tea into the little teacups. "Yeah, daddy always say how Diminie is a cute baby! Diminie needs daddy because am just a dumb baby with no thoughts."
Jungkook's fingers curled into fists, squeezing the elephant and Jimin looked alarmed.
"Hey! No hurt!"
Jungkook forced himself to relax. "You're not a dumb baby, Jimin. You're smart and strong and independent, you don't need Cho. You wrote a book, remember? You're a successful, published author who helps others in abusive relationships."
Jimin frowned, then shook his head, like that didn't sound like him. "No, Diminie can't write book, am just a dumb baby. Need daddy."
Jungkook sighed, watching the boy abandon the toys to scribble messily in a coloring book.
His worst fears were confirmed- Cho was brainwashing his vulnerable baby.
And it was working.
"Diminie, I had so much fun playing with you." Jungkook tried a different angle. "But can I speak to Jimin now?"
Jimin shook his head, dangly earrings swinging. "Nope! Daddy only likes Diminie and Diminie loves and needs daddy, so is only Diminie now. No more Jiminie. Wanna play racecars?"
"Fuck," Jungkook groaned, rubbing his hands over his face. "Namjoon was right, I think the only way to get Cho out of here is with the physical abuse theory."
"What is?" Jimin hummed as he colored.
"Nothing." Jungkook sighed, watching him. "Jimin..."
"Diminie." Jimin corrected.
"Diminie," Jungkook changed it. "Baby, don't you remember us? Remember Yoonie?"
Jimin gasped, dropping his crayon. "Yoonie?! Where?"
Jungkook perked up at the boys reaction. "Yeah, your best friend! And Seokjinnie and Taehyungie and Hoseokie, don't you want to see them all again?"
Jimin jumped up, hands clapping. "Yeah! Love Diminie's friends! Want see Yoonie! Miss best friend Yoonie!"
Jungkook grinned, scrambling to his feet. "I can take you to them, I can help you so much baby." He offered his hand out. "We can get far away from Cho and his lies."
Jimin frowned. "Leave...daddy?" He shook his head. "No, Diminie can't leave- needs daddy. Am just dumb baby."
"No, Jimin, you're not-"
"Am Diminie!" Jimin glared, crossing his arms. "Daddy said the bunny would try to lie to Diminie!"
"I'm not lying, I swear- he's the liar!" Jungkook tried. "Don't you want to see Yoonie?"
"Where Yoonie?" Jimin looked under the bed, as if the baby would be there.
Jungkook sighed, not wanting to lie. "He's...far away."
Jimin pouted, sitting back down with a plop. He grabbed his crayon and started scribbling again.
Jungkook watched him, barely resisting the urge to just grab the boy and run.
He heard voices getting louder and knew his time was up.
He hurried over, kneeling in front of the pink haired boy and cupped his face in both hands.
"Jimin, I love you."
He kissed the boys forehead.
Jimin stared with wide eyes at the affection, watching Jungkook run away.
Daddy never told Diminie he loved him.
Was the bunny...not lying?
The baby frowned as he flipped to the last page of his coloring book- a blank sheet that Jimin had drew on his own.
Two stick figures held hands, a kitten at their feet.
"Yoonie...Diminie miss you."
-
Jungkook joined back up with them as the group walked away from the house.
"How did it go?" He asked, kicking a rock.
"Nyamhottie used all these big words but Cho was too stupid to be intimidated by them." Hoseok sighed.
"He's not stupid." Namjoon was forced to concede. "He's smart- that's how he's getting away with this."
He looked to Jungkook, putting his arm around the boys shoulders. "What about on your end?"
"Jimin's okay, physically." Jungkook mumbled. "But we were right- Cho's been lying to him daily and telling him that Jimin needs him and can't do anything without him. I don't think Jimin's been out of subspace since the moment that monster got his dirty hands on my baby."
"We'll figure it out." Taehyung squeezed Jungkook's hand. "He'll slip up sooner or later, and we'll get Jimin out of there."
Jungkook thought about Yoonie, and wondered how the baby alter was doing...
...wherever he was.
The only thing Jungkook knew for certain was that he wouldn't give up until he had both babies safe and sound in his arms again.
