~War and Peace~

The furious gallop of the horses,

Led by furious men riding on their backs,

Their weapons point to the sky,

Their voices roar to the winds,

They hail forward with only one motive in mind—

Destroy.

-

Sharp blades pierce through the flesh,

The air bores the sound of their cries,

The ground baths in their blood,

While the sky is forced to witness their outcome under the mist—

Death.

-

Centuries pass,

Times change,

Swords get replaced by rifles,

Chariots get replaced by tanks,

Bombs are modified,

The ground still baths in their blood,

The air still hears the same cries, with a different person each time,

The sky still witnesses the same outcome.

-

Hatred—

Is what drive humans to their demise,

It's what brings closer to the end of humanity.

I've seen it, I've witnessed it all.

Suffering.

-

What I'm forced to see everyday, I'm sure nobody could see it,

I don't see the politics, the manipulation the betrayal,

Neither do I see the lengths of a man's power,

Instead I see souls— thousands of 'em,

Who were drawn from their vessels,

Hiding behind the thick veil of smoke,

A soul screams out in agony upon losing another soul,

Followed by another,

And yet another,

A sound that never ends,

Even after they die,

Those screams pierce the sky,

They seem to cry louder than the war itself.

-

I see bodies who were starved,

bodies who were tortured beyond their limits,

Brutal, animalistic acts,

But humans are blind,

For they only conquer and divide,

All for the gain of materialistic things,

Desire

It's what chains them all.

-

My eyes fail to see the difference between black and white skin,

Between male and female,

Between number of legs they posses,

I provide them the same wealth,

The same warmth,

Like a child being cuddled into a mother's arms

I spread my arms before them,

Telling them to use me to their liking,

For I have plenty,

Then why can't they be the same?

-

I wish I could guage my eyes out before I start seeing,

I wish my ears would bleed before I start listening,

I wish I could shut them all but I can't,

Instead I'm forced to witness,

A catastrophe without a finish line,

Sometimes I lose control,

So much so I end up destroying everything around me,

Taking thousands of souls with me,

But then I watch a child being born,

With a frail mother who smiles,

And I become better again,

For better and for worse.

-

You say we are different,

You say we are superior,

While that may be true my child,

But you breathe the same air,

Live under the same sky,

Fill your stomach with the same grass,

You smile when happy

You cry when in pain,

Your bodies may be different,

But underneath you are all the same,

For you born and die within my womb.

-

I wish I could commit suicide,

I can't,

For I'm chained by my fate-

Hope.

Hope that emerges from millions of smiles,

Hope that crushes whenever that smile is murdered,

Yet I keep living,

Hoping you'll kill the practice of conquer and divide,

And live by unite and offer.

No matter how bleak it is,

I'll keep breathing,

While you keep destroying me,

But I'll still won't redeem you

After all, I'm your mother,

And a mother has to provide for her children,

Until her very last breath.

Because it gives me hope.”

A/N-- A poem after a long, long time!

Well, I sort of got inspired to write on this concept after watching an anime called Naruto Shippuden. The concept of wars, suffering and peace was crafted epically. Don't forget to vote and comment your thoughts about it. Hope you liked it.

And hope that we can still make this Earth a better place. :')
