Twenty-Two

Yunho slams open the door, finding his lover sitting in a chair in their living area and rushing over to him, "Mingi! I need you to do something for me!" Mingi sits up, now full alert for whatever his lover needed and Yunho hands him a list, "I need you to please sail out and find these for me. We need to make a medicine for San, it's an emergency."

Mingi reads over the list, his eyebrows furrowing, "Today?"

"Yes please!" Yunho cups his face, "I know it's going to take you a couple days to sail to the nearest ocean city but we really need these. Please please please baby, San's life is depending on you," he pleads.

Mingi nods, "Y-Yeah yeah," he hurried over to their room and packs a few clothes in his sack, before turning and pecking Yunho on the lips, "I'll be back as quick as I can."

"Be safe," Yunho whispers, kissing Mingi once more before pushing him to the door, "I love you!"

"I love you more gorgeous," Mingi winks, closing their door and heading down the pathway to gather a couple members to man the ship. It was starting to rain a little, so he was dreading having to sail out during the rain but San needed this. He found a couple crew members, explaining to them what was going on and then they were heading to the docks.

He seen Hongjoong on the way, and the captain frowns as he watches Mingi and a few crew members walking to the docks, "What's going on?"

"We need to make an emergency sail," Mingi explains quickly, "Are you coming? If not, I'll lead them."

Hongjoong frowns, looking at the crew and then back at Mingi, "Where are you going?"

"Just to the closest ocean city to get the things needed to make San some medicine," Mingi explains quickly, looking at his captain, "Please, we have to. He's a part of our family Hongjoong we can't just let him die!"

Hongjoong swallows and nods, patting Mingi's back, "Return safely, you know the water ways and the path back home. If you're not back within a week I'm sailing after you to kick your fucking ass."

Mingi chuckles, ruffling Hongjoong's red hair before gesturing to the ship, "Let's sail out!"

Everyone moves to the ship, only a few crew members joined Mingi, which is plenty so the pirate won't be alone on his journey. They set sail immediately, Mingi watching as Utopia gets smaller and smaller as they sail. A crew member came over to him, tugging on his sleeve, "Mingi, we might as well do another supply run while we're out."

"We just need these ingredients," Mingi responds to the older man, "we're not due for another supplies run until next month."

"Aye," the older man agrees, backing away and going back to his duties.

They arrive within two days of sailing straight with no stops, Mingi immediately docks the ship and sets out to find the ingredients to make the potion to heal San. He roamed the ocean city, looking for one last ingredient called milk of the poppy. He remembered it from when Wooyoung was injured on their sails in the past.

He eventually finds it, and as he is leaving the store after buying some, something catches his eye. He stops and locks eyes with matching lockets, both on silver chains and what looks to be a small coin.

"Ah," the woman who sold him the milk of the poppy smirks and advances towards where Mingi stood, "Those were rare and popular in the olden days. People took their coins, drilled holes in them and wore them around their necks for good luck." She snorts, wrinkling her nose, "Luck wasn't obviously on their side when the earth nearly wiped them out."

"How much?" Mingi asks, admiring the silver coins with a man's head on them.

"Their called dimes. I say," she looks over his outfit and studies his attire. Her eyes lock on his father's dagger and she arches her eyebrow, "Trade you the dagger for both."

"Not a chance," Mingi denies the trade, turning to leave only for her to stop him.

"Wait wait wait," she sighs, holding out her hand, "at least one of the jewels that decorate the handle. Preferably that lonesome purple one."

Mingi snorts, taking his dagger and using a nearby dagger from the shelf to wretch the purple jewel off of his father's dagger. He hands it to her, and she hands him the lockets. She smiles, "These are meant to be for lovers or soul mated partners. One day when you find your true love or your soul mate, you will present this necklace to them with love, and it will bring you good fortune and love. For eternity."

Mingi nods to her, "Thank you."

They set sail once more, Mingi wearing his new lockets and excited to bring one to Yunho when they get back. Once they do arrive in Utopia, Yunho as usual runs into Mingi's arms and brings the pirate in for a kiss. When he pulls away, Mingi hands him the bag of ingredients and Yunho smiles, "You won't believe this, but San is already healing. We don't know who, but someone left medicine for him the other night and Yeosang found it."

Mingi smiles. He wasn't going to lie, he felt a little useless now for having to sail out and grab supplies for medicine, but now these ingredients could be used to make someone else medicine if someone were to have gotten sick on Utopia. He chuckles, Yunho takes the bag of ingredients anyway, and Mingi wraps an arm around his waist before taking off a locket from his neck, "I got you something."

Yunho gasps, looking at the locket with wide eyes and looks back up at the pirate, "What are these?"

"Coin lockets, said to bring good fortune and luck to lovers and soulmates for all eternity," Mingi chuckles, "All superstition really, I just got it to get me and you something to wear together. Something we have that links us together when I have to sail and I'm away."

Yunho pouts, putting it on and looking down at it with a soft smile, "I love it," he kisses Mingi before giggling, "Thank you. Did you know this was a dime in the olden days? Worth 10 cents?"

Mingi laughs, "You're incredible."
