Thirty-One
"You have a list of everything?" Hongjoong double checks with Mingi as he watches the crew load the ship for the sail.
"Yes, I can't guarantee we will find everything and get everything at this ocean city since it is smaller, but I'll be sure to get the most important items," Mingi assures the captain, patting his shoulder and looking over him to see Seonghwa watching from afar with Aurora on his hip.
The baby girl was reaching for the water, whining and wanting to be placed down so she can play, but Seonghwa didn't want her away from him especially while the men were sailing off. He had recovered well from his broken ribs and his bruises, the ones on his stomach and ribs were faded to yellow and his face was healed as well. He looked better than he had been. Hongjoong still makes him rest more often than he did with Aurora, mainly because he's read somewhere that great stress on a pregnant person could cause a great deal of stress on the baby and could result in losing it.
The night when Seonghwa was attacked.... he for sure thought he lost his unborn child. He thought his lover and daughter were both severely injured, only to find out Seonghwa was the only one who took the beatings and managed to keep Aurora out of harms way. But in return, he couldn't help but put his unborn baby at risk. Hongjoong is proud of him though, for fighting back. The bastard that laid his hands on his lover, paid the price with a bullet in between his legs and one in between the eyes.
He had refused to set sail on any trips, not wanting to leave his family after what had happened and for the fear it will happen again. Although Seonghwa has only mentioned this being an old master of his, the one who gave him the scar on his eye, he had also mentioned that he was the only one he recognized that had hurt him in the past. He tried to assure the captain that he was okay, that him and the baby were fine and that he would take it easy. Hongjoong still refuses to leave.
And now with Seonghwa being six months pregnant, and Yeosang being nine months and due any day, Hongjoong knew Mingi had no choice but to take Jongho for the trip.
Speaking of the younger, Hongjoong catches him walking over to them, his face downcast and sunken in. He had refused to eat after Wooyoung went missing, resulting in Yunho and Seonghwa having to force food and water down his throat to make him gain his strength back. He managed to clear a large portion of the forest trying to look for the younger, however there is still more to Utopia than they know.
Hongjoong smiles sadly at Jongho, patting his shoulder once he's in front of him, "I really appreciate this Jongho..."
Jongho nods, looking into Hongjoong's eyes. His once happy golden brown eyes were now dull and sad, every hint of light wiped clean out of them as he opens his mouth to speak, "Just.... keep up the pattern okay? And if you find anything..."
Hongjoong pulls the younger in for a hug, giving him a tight squeeze before sighing, "We will find him, Jongho."
Mingi separates the party after pulling them both in a giant group hug, then sooner than everyone thought they are sailing off. Hongjoong wraps his arm around Seonghwa's waist, his hand cupping the bottom of his belly and feeling their child kick and move wildly. He looks to Seonghwa, who looks back at him and smiles.
Hongjoong leads the three of them back home, Aurora was placed on the floor to play while Hongjoong helps Seonghwa sit on the rocking chair he made for the pregnant man. Seonghwa rubs his belly, enjoying the movement of their child he thought he lost, "I know you really wanted to go.... I'm glad to have you home."
Hongjoong smiles sadly, taking Seonghwa's hand in his and kissing his wrist. Aurora squeals, picking up her blanket and showing Hongjoong. He chuckles, "Is that blankie?"
Aurora waddles over to them, handing Seonghwa her blanket and she smiles. Seonghwa giggles, "Thank you baby girl."
"Are you keeping mommy warm?" Hongjoong asks, watching as Aurora moves the blanket around on Seonghwa's belly, patting it gently before looking at Hongjoong, "Bebe co!"
"Baby cold?" Seonghwa coos as he repeats what the little girl had said, brushing her golden curls aside, "Are you keeping the baby warm?"
She hums, nodding as she lays her head on the baby bump, then she shocks the parents by placing a gentle kiss on it before cuddling into it. Seonghwa's heart melts and Hongjoong chuckles, kissing Aurora's cheek, "You're such a sweet baby. Who's child are you anyway?"
Seonghwa laughs, "She gets that from you."
"Oh really?" Hongjoong arches his eyebrow, "I'm a sweetie?"
Seonghwa grins, "Do you not remember what I said to you on the ship a long time ago?"
Hongjoong hums, smiling up at his loved as he squats down beside the rocking chair, "I remember you telling me I was an asshole."
Seonghwa smacks his arm, rolling his eyes before snorting, "I said you couldn't be an asshole even if you tried. Sure I realized you can be-"
Hongjoong snorts, "Thanks." Seonghwa narrows his eyes, and Hongjoong raises his arms up in surrender, "Sorry, continue my love."
Seonghwa smirks, "As I was saying... you can be an asshole, but your heart is still twice the size of a normal heart. You're still my sweet and passionate captain. And I love you very, very much."
Hongjoong has a dopey smile on his face as he leans in and connects their lips in a soft kiss. Aurora growls cutely, pushing Hongjoong away from Seonghwa with all of her strength before whining, "My mama!"
"What can I not kiss mommy anymore?" Hongjoong feigns being upset as he pouts, "I want to love mommy too."
Seonghwa giggles as he watches them exchange conversation back and forth, more or less fighting over Seonghwa and his attention. However, it all ends with Hongjoong picking up the little girl and smothering her in kisses all over her face and neck. She squeals loudly, giggling and smiling at her daddy before cuddling into him, "Youngie, Sannie, Mini, Yu, Sangie, Ho-Ho, mama, dada, bebe..."
"I think she's getting tired," Seonghwa laughs, reaching for her, "She usually recites everyone's names to keep awake when she is. I'll rock her to sleep."
"No," Hongjoong kisses him and grabs her blanket, wrapping it around the little girl before he started swaying to gently ease her into sleep, "I'll get her. You need to rest."
"I can easily rock her in this chair," Seonghwa giggles, watching fondly as Hongjoong dances and sways around the room with their daughter in his arms. His hands cup his belly and he looks down at his belly, wanting desperately for their second child to get here so he or she can experience the crazy and fun world they all live in.
Hongjoong starts singing a soft tune, something they have heard before from a jewelry box at an ocean city, "Don't worry, about a thing... cuz every little thing is gonna be alright."
Seonghwa giggles, and Hongjoong chuckles back at him, feeling Aurora's arms loosen around his neck and fall to the side. Pretty soon with his singing and swaying, she is fast asleep and Hongjoong lays her in her bassinet. He turns to look at his lover, freezing when he sees he is passed out asleep in the rocking chair, both hands still wrapped around his baby bump protectively. He chuckles, brushing a finger against his cheekbone and Seonghwa jerks awake, "This is going to really hurt your back love... come on, let's get you into bed."
Seonghwa doesn't argue as Hongjoong settles both of his loves into their own beds, and once Seonghwa was back asleep, he moves to grab the machete Jongho gave him by the door and sighs. He looks back at the two whole pieces of his heart, and smiles softly at them before heading out to start working on Jongho's clear way path to find Wooyoung.
