Chapter thirteen thousand- Feelings are brewing

It had been a week since my injury now, and I was finally free of my stupid crutches. Only John knew about my abilities to look like other people, and I hadn't used my powers for anything bad. Yet. I skipped down the hallways happily, my legs felt a bit strange, probably because  hadn't used them correctly in a long time.

John rushed to catch up to me.

"Just because you don't have crutches anymore, does not mean you need to run off everywhere," John said, panting.

I suddenly paused and felt John run into me.

"What was that for?" He asked.

I didn't respond. I was staring ahead. At the worst sight possible.

Thomas Jefferson.

He recovered.

I had been surprised at how long it had taken him to recover in the first place, he only didn't have water, food, healthy air to breathe or a bathroom for like what, three to six days?  I had finally completely erased the memory of him, and what he did to me, replacing my memories with images of John smiling.

But now it all came flooding back, and suddenly I couldn't move my feet. I stared at him as he joked with Seabury and KG, Benedict limping behind him.

"Ham, we should probably move away," John said to me as Thomas walked closer.

I suddenly felt a small tear trickle down my cheek. This person had caused me so much suffering. He practically tortures me for two or more weeks. And now I was permanently affected, I couldn't even move. I felt John grab my hand, and my mind spun back to reality. Suddenly it just mattered that John was here. He was holding my hand. I looked up at John.

"Come one," John said, pulling me away by my hand.

I followed him around a corner, just as Thomas walked by. I stood a deep, shaky breath.

"Hey, its okay," John said, trying to comfort me. "Hes gone now. You all right?"

"Y-yeah I'm fine. I don't know what came over me," I said.

"Lets get to class and forget him, okay?" John said.

"Alright," I said quietly, and followed him down the hallway.

I kind of wished I could be holding his hand right now.

*~*

Now even more time had passed. A couple days. Thomas hadn't done anything to Alex, I was so relieved. My poor little cinnamonroll did not need that guy haunting him. Weather update: The trees outside now had no green leaves, all of them where the dazzling colors of Gryffindor.

We where in the field I had first taught Alex how to ride a broom. It became our place. Under the tree that Alex had crashed into. We spent most of our time together flying on broomsticks and throwing leaves at each other, but today we leaned against the tree, staring out at the shimmering lake.

"I cant wait for the next Quidditch game. I know I have to play against Slytherin and not you, but it'll still be fun," Alex was saying.

"At least you don't have to play against Thomas," I said.

"True," Alex said.

We paused for a moment, taking in the view. The sky went on for forever, shinning in the bright colors of the sunset, casting fiery rainbows on the lake.

"I'm tired," Alex yawned cutely.

"Then we should probably head back to your dorm," I said, standing up.

"I'm no lazy to move," Alex said, grabbing my hand before I could walk away.

"You want me to carry you the whole way?" I laughed.

I sat back down next to Alex, and right as I settled into a comfortable positions Alex rested his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes. His hair was not even pink, so I don't think he even noticed what he was doing, he was just so tired.

I think I was blushing so hard I looked like a literal tomato. He nuzzled up to me, and I don't think it was possible to blush more then I was. He was so adorable.

"Good night," I whispered to him.

"Meow," He said back.

"What the hedgehogs Alex?" I asked, laughing.

"I feel like a cat," Alex replied simply.

"Well you certainly are adorable," I said before I could shut my mouth.

"Hmm?" He asked, opening one eye to look at me.

"Nothing, just get some sleep," I said.

"Maybe I'll get coffee instead of sleep. Sounds easier," Alex said.

"No, sleep Hammy," I said. "Its not good for you to replace sleeping with coffee."

In reply he started breathing more shallowly, like he had just immediately fallen asleep. I looked out at the shimmering lake, reflecting the light of the sunset. I hoped we where not going past curfew, but I could miss curfew for Alex.

I'd miss my train ride to Hogwarts for Alex.

I'd miss my graduation for Alex.

I'd miss my mothers freaking funeral for Alex.

I'd miss the biggest job opportunity in my life for Alex.

Because he was everything to me.

*~*

I yawned, waking up to a soft breeze. Am I outside? I asked myself. I opened up my eyes and started blushing. Did I just fall asleep on John? I quickly sat up, trying to hide my blush. He was asleep too, and his hand was on mine. The sun was about to finish setting, and the moon was already out in the sky.

Curfew.

Nah, I need to be here with John. Although, I didn't like the idea of staying up past curfew so close to the forbidden forest. The creepy trees blocked out all light, anything could be hiding in there. Oh shoot, the dementors. They would probably be guards Hogwarts soon. I shook John shoulders to wake him up.

"Wha-?" He asked, squinting open his eyes.

"Come on," I said, offering a hand to help him up.

He must have realized what was happening, because sudden urgency washed over his face. He accepted my hand and I helped him stand up.

"Shoot, I'm a terrible bodyguard. Right, draw your wand, get your broom over here, then we gotta fly," John said, taking out his wand.

I took out mine as well.

"Accio," John said, pointing his wand at Hogwarts.

"Accio," I said as well.

I heard some strange crashing noises, but then saw my broomstick flying through the sky towards me, with Johns right behind it. Once our broomsticks reached us, we jumped on them and started to fly away.

"I should have never fallen asleep. I could have gotten you killed," John said.

"Well we didn't die, did we? We can fly back to Hogwarts, avoid the dementors, and be fine," Alex said.

"I guess, but its still my fault," John said, looking down at his broomstick.

I reach my hand out to his and stared meaningfully into his eyes. He blushed and smiled at me.

"Its never you're fault. You're to perfect to make any mistakes," I said, blushing.

We continued to fly towards Hogwarts, and we made it there quite quickly. We then jumped off our broomsticks in the courtyard, and ran inside the building.

"Is it allowed to ride broomsticks inside?" I asked John.

"No," John said.

"I mean, if we don't get caught I think we're fine... right?" I said, grinning at John.

"It would get us to our dorms faster," John said, mounting his broomstick again and grinning at me.

"'kay, I'll head to my dorm, you don't need to follow me. I'm on a broom," I said, mounting my broomstick again as well.

"Right," John said, and then we slowly flew into the building.

I waved goodbye to him, and then flew at a high speed through the hallways. I quickly skirted around corners on my broom, flew up staircases, dodged the little people still trying to rush to their dorms, and made it to Ravenclaw common room.

I jumped off my broom and walked inside, where Eliza, Chris, Ben and Steven where waiting.

"Where have you been?" Eliza asked, using a voice like she was a really mad mother.

"Uh, France?" I joked.

"You're almost late to curfew," Eliza said sternly.

"But I'm not," I pointed out.

"UGH Ravenclaws are supposed to be RESPONSIBLE!" Eliza complained.

"SHH!" A random Ravenclaw said form a couch, they where sitting in front of the fireplace with a book.

"Why does it matter?" I asked Eliza.

"Because, idiot, we were going to teach you more spells tonight. You asked us too!" Eliza said.

"Riiight," I said, the memory coming back.

"I swear, where you making out with John?" Eliza accused me.

"Probable," Steven said, smirking.

"What? No!" I said, blushing.

"Whatever. Its to late now, we can do it in the morning," Eliza said. "Also when did you dye your hair freaking pink it looks disgusting."

"Oh- I um its not permanent it'll come out tonight. And don't judge my hair color pink looks good on me," I said, not realizing my hair was changing.

Eliza and the boys walked away up the spiral staircase. I followed them with my broom in my hand. Once I reached the boys dormitory, I went straight for my bed. I did not get much sleep within the last couple days, apart from falling asleep on John. Just the memory made me blush.

I don't think I'd ever stop blushing.

"Ham Chops has a boyfriend," Chris said, coming over to me as I sat on my bed.

"Hammy has a boyfriend, Oooo," Seven said, also coming over and leaning over my shoulder making kissy noises.

"I don't have a boyfriend!" I said, pushing them away.

"Your secret someone on the side," Chris said teasingly.

"What are you trying to hide, Ham?" Steven asked, making kissy noises.

"I should be going now," I said, standing up.

"No these guys should go," Ben said, coming up to his friends and pulling them away from me.

"Leave us alone," Chris complained.

"Come on, man!" Steven said, struggling to break free.

I shot Ben a thankful glance and then settled on my bed to sleep. The thought of John being my boyfriend was hard to imagine... but it felt so right. Like we where meant to be. No, that sounded like some weird princess fairy tail.

How come every time I try to fall asleep, I've got John on my mind?
