Chapter fourteen- Confession time, here's what I got
(A/N I did not check my grammar for this chapter, I'm to lazy. So, um... yeah)
Now, a couple days later, before a Quidditch match.
I was trying to figure our away to ask Alex out.
I knew from when I first met him I had feelings for him. To me, love at first sight had always been a fairy tail princess thing that I never believed in. There was no way it was going to turn out well, they where probably evil on the inside.
But when I saw the most handsome man ever at kings cross station, trying to figure out where the heck platform nine and three quarters was, maybe I did start believing in love at first sight. I knew it was not going to work out between us, but he was just so perfect.
I did everything in my ability to make him feel safe at Hogwarts. I tried every way I could to be around him constantly. We passed notes back and forth, and I was that one insane person who kept every single note. I was thinking of confessing to him through a note, but that would be a dumb way.
He was probably not even into guys.
Although, I knew it would take me a long time to ask him out, so yesterday I had confessed I liked him to my closest and most trust worthy friends, Laf and Herc. They said that I should ask him out on the first snow, because it would be romantic. I thought of doing it during a Quidditch game, but Laf quickly dismissed the idea. He was acting very suspicious.
Now I said goodbye to Alex as I went over towards the Hufflepuff Quidditch team changing rooms.
I was still trying to think of the right way to ask him out. I don't know how I could throw this away. But what was I going to say? I like you No, that sounded to boring. I know you're probably not gay, because you said earlier you're not gay. But then I also said I'm not gay so maybe you where lying too... No, that's dumb. Would you like to go on a date with me? Does not feel right.
Want to go be in a relationship beyond friends? No, dumb. Ugh, why was this so hard. I reached the changing rooms and kept thinking about Alex as I put on my uniform.
Soon I was out on the field, holding a large bat, chasing a bludger around and trying to hit it as Gryffindors. Lafayette was acting strange. I took a glance at him, and he was paying way to much attention to the snitch he was chasing. He usually didn't have so much determination to catch it.
With him on full focus like this, there was no way Hufflepuff was going to win. Lafayette was a legend who was expected to move onto professional Quidditch. Just as the game started, it ended as Lafayette almost risked his life to lounge at the snitch.
The crowd cheered to one of the fastest games in history. Instead of Lafayette flying towards the ground and celebrating, though, he flew over to Hercules. What is going on here? I though, my brain still processing the fact that we just lost within like one freaking minute.
Lafayette flew over towards Hercules as he landed on the ground. Lafayette stood in front of Hercules, the snitch in his hand. Then Lafayette crouched down on one knee, and I heard him say;
"Hercules, will you be my boyfriend."
I paused.
Now that- that was the most epic way to ask someone out. Alex didn't deserve me. Lafayette freaking caught a snitch in a minute and asked Hercules out with it. What the hedgehogs. I don't think my brain can take all this.
"Oh my god yes!" Hercules shouted and hugged Laf.
The crowd cheered.
My brain still was confused right now. Everything happened so fast.
*~*
After that dramatic stuff, Alex played his game, and now we sat at our special spot, deciding to celebrate together for Ravenclaws victory instead of Alex going off alone to get drunk. Alex probably scored the most points out of all his team mates, especialy with his super fast new broom and small size, he had quite the advantage.
I decided now was my time. The leaves dramatically falling from the trees, the sun on the lake. It was just like that day where he had fallen asleep on me.
Just the memory made me blush.
"So, um," I started.
Alex looked up at me. I didn't know what to say to him, so I just said what came to mind.
"So I need to tell you something, Alex, its kind of important," I started, taking a deep breath.
"What is it?" Alex asked, looking up into my eyes. Oh my god his face is so adorable.
"Well, I've never really been in love before, I don't know what I'm doing. Ugh, there's probably someone better for you anyway," I said, completely messing up, putting my face in my hands.
"What are you trying to say?" Alex asked me, his hair was pink.
"Shoot, I'm blowing it. Not what I meant to do. This is really embarrassing," I said. "You're gorgeous, funny, brilliant, brave. I want to give you want you want. I want to be the person you love. I want to sweep you off your feet. Gosh that sounded weird. Never mind, I am terrible at this. You deserve someone better."
I sighed, looking away from him. I completely failed. Hes never going to like me now.
"I-I think you may be asking me out?" Alex guessed.
"I know, I totally failed. You don't like me," I said.
"Of course I like you," Alex said.
"What?" I asked, looking down at him.
"Don't be so doubtful. Of course I like you. I don't know what you see in me, but I see the world in you," Alex said, taking my hand in his.
"Wow you are much better at this," I laughed nervously.
"Will you be my boyfriend, John?" Alex asked me.
"I was supposed to be asking you that," I said, getting lost in his eyes.
"Well, I've always been quicker then you," Alex smirked.
"Oh course I'll be your boyfriend," I said.
"So is it still awkward if I do this?" Alex asked, leaning his head on my shoulder.
"Yup," I replied.
"Well, you're going to have to get used to it," Alex said, yawning. "That game really tired me out."
"Hamilini you're going to get eaten by dementors if this happens again," I said.
"Well- Wait, Hamilini?" Alex asked.
"Yes," I said.
"JOHN? JOHN?" I heard someone shouting.
I looked up in the sky to see two people flying towards our field on broomsticks.
"Quick, lets prank them," Alex said.
"What?" I asked him.
Suddenly Alex looked identical to me. Now there where two of me, one leaning on the other me's shoulder. I am very confused. Then I remembered about Alex's abilities and let myself relax. My new boyfriend did not just turn into me.
"John!" I heard a shout again, and I saw Hercules jump off his broomstick and come running over. "John we ne-"
Hercules froze, staring at me and Alex. Lafayette flew and landed close by.
"Laf are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Herc asked.
"There's two of him?" Laf asked.
The two boys turned away from us to talk about something. Alex quickly turned back to his normal self.
"Ok- Woah what the heck-" Hercules said, turning back around.
"What?" I asked them.
"Y-you- just- what?" Laf was so confused.
I think I liked messing with their sanity.
"There where two of you and now the other you is Alex and your like cuddling- wait. You two are cuddling," Herc said.
"Okay, that never happened," Laf said, shaking his head back and forth. "Wait did you say cuddling? Did the ship sail?"
"Im just going to pretend to be asleep to avoid this conversation," Alex whispered to me.
"No fair," I whispered back.
"Hah," He said, before nuzzling his head closer to my neck.
I couldn't contain my blushing.
"Does this mean we're going to have the same anniversary day? Cool!" Herc said.
"Freaking hedgehogs, why are you here?" I asked them.
"Because we where going to ask you some things but now that you tow are together, all things forgotten, when did you first have feelings for him?" Laf said, sitting across from me, Herc sitting next to Laf.
"I um- platform nine and three quarters," I stuttered, blushing because I knew Alex was awake.
"Oooo this relationship was way to fast. I met Herc like what, first years? and I only just asked him out," Laf said. "Anyway, first time you wanted to ask him out but never could?"
"This is not necessary, Im just trying to sit here, leave me alone," I said.
"Come on maaan," Herc complained.
"Probably a week into school," I said quietly.
"Awwwwww," Laf said.
"First kiss?" Herc asked.
"I have never kissed anyone before," I replied simply. Alex's hair was a bit pink for a moment.
"That can change," Laf smirked.
"Leave us alone, guys," I complained.
"Fine, but you're spilling everything later to Herc in the Hufflepuff common room and then hes spilling ALL the tea to me," Laf said.
"Leeeeaavveeeeee," I complained.
"Fine, but leave your door open," Laf said.
"Door?" I asked.
"You don't get it. Bye!" Laf said, and jumped on his broomstick.
The two boys flew off towards Hogwarts, their broomsticks so close it looked like one huge blob flying through the sky.
"Did you really like me all the way back at kings cross?" Alex asked, looking up at me.
"Maybe," I blushed.
He smiled at me.
"This was quite the strange fast-paced day," Alex commented.
"Yeah, my brain is still processing the Quidditch game," I laughed.
We awkwardly stared out at the lake.
"We should probably leave before we get eaten by dementors," Alex said after a long silence.
"Yeah," I said quietly, helping Alex stand up.
We stared into each others eyes for a moment. Then I awkwardly turned around and walked towards the school. He followed me, blushing.
This relationship was going to be quite interesting.
