By the time my thirteenth birthday came, Chris was doing much better, and things had gone back to normal. The band began to work on writing some songs, and we were all going to go to London to record them once they finished writing.

I began to wonder if Chris and the boys had something planned, since Chris hadn't let me go in the backyard for nearly a week. Especially on the day before my birthday, where they told me I could go spend the night at a friend's house.

I had a feeling they were only trying to push me out of the house so they could work on something for a surprise, but I played along anyway.

"Who?" I Asked.

"What about that one girl you met at the meet and greet?" Guy Asked.

"Jessica?"

"Right. Jessica." Chris Said. "I'm sure she'd love to have you, right?"

I shrugged. "I could ask her."

"Perfect!" Jonny Said. "You do that."

I pulled out my phone while still staring at them, before going into my messages and texting Jessica.

Hey! Are you up for a sleepover? I think they're trying to kick me out of the house :p

Jessica quickly texted back.

Jessica: I know, Chris told me...we're on our way to pick you up

I looked up at Chris. "You already asked her?"

He facepalmed, Which made me guess that she wasn't supposed to tell me that.

"Well," Will laughed a little. "You should go pack, yeah?"

"Right!" I Said, shoving my phone back in my pocket before getting off of the couch and running over to the stairs.

I then ran up to my bedroom, quickly grabbing my suitcase and opening it up.

I was pretty excited, to be honest. This was my first sleepover. I mean like, ever.

My mum didn't let me have sleepovers, and neither did my aunt. I was excited to see what things we would do.

I quickly packed my bag, and just as I was finishing up, I heard a honking of a horn outside.

"Aaliyah, Jessica's here!" Chris called up.

"Coming!" I called back, before running out of my room and back down the stairs.

"I'm so excited!" I exclaimed, going over and slipping on my shoes.

Chris laughed a little. "I'm glad."

"This is my first sleepover...I wonder what we'll do!" I Said as I tied my laces. "Maybe we'll watch a movie...or stay up late telling stories!"

"The sleepovers I used to go to, the person who had me over always fell asleep." Chris Said, looking over at Phil.

Phil held up his hands defensively. "It's not my fault I don't have your crazy energy!"

Chris pretended to be offended. "I'm not crazy!"

"Yes you are!" Both Guy and Will Exclaimed simultaneously.

I laughed a little as I heard the car horn again.

"Sorry to cut this moment short," I giggled. "But I should go."

"Right. Phil and I will settle this later." Chris laughed, before leaning down to hug me. "Do you have your toothbrush?"

"Yep."

"An outfit for tonight and tomorrow?"

"Of course." I laughed

"What about.." he started.

"Dad, I got everything!" I giggled.

He hugged me tighter. "Just teasing you." He chuckled. "Have fun, okay? I love you."

"Love you too, Dad." I Said. "And Uncle Jonny, Uncle Will, Uncle Guy and Uncle Phil!"

They all said 'Love you' back, and I opened the door, looking back at them.

"Bye guys!"

"Bye, have fun!" Guy Said.

"I will!" I Said, before stepping out the door with my suitcase.

I pulled it down the front steps and over to the driveway, where I approached the car.

Jessica, who was seated in the back, rolled down her window.

"Get in the back with me!" She Exclaimed.

"Okay!" I Said. "What should I do with my suitcase?"

"Just throw it in the back." She Said. "Ryan can carry it Into the house later."

"Who's Ryan?" I Asked.

"My brother. He's driving." She Explained.

"Oh, Okay." I Said, Before Walking over to the back of the car. I opened the trunk, throwing my suitcase in the back.

I closed it, then ran over to the back, where I climbed in beside Jessica.

I buckled myself in, and we both began to giggle excitedly.

"Sleepover!" Jessica Exclaimed.

"It'll be so much fun!" I exclaimed.

"Is everybody buckled in?" Jessica's brother asked.

"Yep!" Jessica Said.

"Alright, then let's go."

He put the car in reverse, pulling out of the driveway.

As the car began to drive down the road, Jessica reached over and began patting her brother's head.

"Play music! Play music! Play music!" She demanded.

He laughed a little. "Okay, okay!"

He pressed play on the CD player, and 'Counting Stars' by OneRepublic began playing.

"Oh my gosh, I love this song!" I exclaimed.

"I know." Jessica smirked.

"Why are you smirking like that?" I Asked.

"You'll see."

Suddenly, Jessica's brother began to sing along, and I realised that I recognised his voice.

"Wait..." I mumbled. "No..."

Jessica smiled. "Yes."

"Yes?" I Asked.

Ryan looked at me, smiling. "Yes!"

I hadn't seen his face when I first got in the car, but now that I did, I realised something.

"You're...Ryan Tedder..."

He nodded, before looking back at the road.

"Surprise!" Jessica Exclaimed.

"Ryan Tedder's your brother??" I Asked.

"Yep!" She Said.

"Woah...what?" I Asked. "Why didn't you tell me?"

She shrugged. "It's really no big deal, to me, at least." She Said. "To me, he's just my brother. Sometimes I forget he's in a famous band."

"Awwwwwww." Ryan Said, looking back again. "That's sweet."

"I never said that." Jessica Said.

"Yes you did." He said.

"You can't prove it." She stuck her tongue out at him.

He stuck his tongue out her as well, before looking back the road.

"So...somebody told me that it's your birthday." He Said.

"My dad told you, didn't he?" I laughed.

"Well, Yeah." He said. "But...we have some stuff planned. Are you okay with staying at my house?"

"Wait, You're not just dropping us off at Jessica's?" I Asked.

"Another surprise!" Jessica Exclaimed. "We thought you'd like to stay at Ryan's, since his house is way cooler than mom and dad's."

"Hey, mom And Dad can't help that their house is boring." Ryan shrugged.

I was honestly shocked that I was sitting in the same car with the Ryan Tedder, and here they were, talking so casually.

I made sure to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

And I wasn't.
