The Dog Boy

Author's Note:  OMG! 300 READS! THIS BOOK IS GETTING NOTICED! THANK YOU Y'ALL! Anyways, this book is going to be like Bloody Mary, I won't be adding my own ideas with Percy Jackson and stuff. I'm going to write the actual story here. I hope you still enjoy, though.

This Urban Legend takes place at 65 Mulberry Street, in the middle of the minuscule Arkansas town of Quitman. The Bettis House is where it all started.

The couple, Floyd and Alline Bettis, moved into the large house around early 1950s. The couple weren't able to sire any children for years, but, on 1954, they gave birth to their son, Gerald Floyd Bettis.

Gerald was a spoiled brat and a sinister child while growing up. At first, it wasn't bad. At school, kids used to pester him. He was rude and mean, so no one liked him. One thing that stood out about him, was that he acted like a king. At a family reunion, Gerald grabbed one of those bed like chairs, an old chaise lounges, used by Roman Emperors, laid down on it with a bunch of grapes and started eating them. In front of everyone.

Things started to grow sinister. He started to collect- collect cats and dogs. That is how he got the name dog boy. He would torture the poor animals, and their howls were heard by the neighbours at night.

As he got older, his parents were being tortured by him. He kept his parents imprisoned in the upstairs part of the house. He would feed them only when he wanted to. By the time he was an adult, he was a 6'4 tower over his eldery parents. He would regularly beat his father and even threw him out the upstairs window once in his teen years.

His father, in his 70s, managed to hold on to the ledge until the police arrived. In 1981 he passed away. People say he died in his home due to an illness, but others say he was pushed down the stairs and broke his neck.

People were afraid of Gerald. They say, whenever he came out of the house, he looked like a madman. His eyes seemed to glow at night. Like an animal's.

In the early 1980s, Alline Bettis fell and broke her hip, and had to take a trip to the hospital. A retired nurse saw how Gerald treated his mother. He would slap her around and threaten her, saying that he would get her arrested if she told anyone how he treated her. Not long after this, Alline was permanently removed from the house and put into adult protective services.

Alone in the big house, Gerald built a sunroom at the back of the house. He would sell plants he grew there, along with marijuana. He was arrested because of this and his mother's statements. He was put in prison and died in drug overdose.

Years later, the creepy things started to grow. The myth of the dog boy scared children and motivated them to make stuff up. It happened nearly sixty years ago, but Margie Lyte still remembers it.

On one night, Margie was out for a walk with her mother and a couple of neighbourhood kids. They were passing a house that the kids called 'the Dog Boy house'. Her mother pointed to the house.

"They say the Dog Boy lives here." She said. Horrific howls would come from that house, so it was obvious why it was named the Dog Boy house. They began walking away from the house.

Then, they heard a sound that froze them to their spots. A screech and a howl. Margie's mother looked at the kids. "Run." She said.

Margie was at the back of the group, and something, a creature, managed to grab her left arm. Even in the dark, she could see the hairy thing standing on its hind legs. Her mother grabbed her right arm and tugged, freeing her. Together, they ran, the hairy creature running back to the house.

Margie said the creature was the Dog Boy. One of its arm was deformed, and he was covered in dark fur. While standing on its four legs, it reached her hip.

According to her, its howl ended with a human like scream. She later learned, none of the kids saw what she saw. But she was calmed when she learned she wasn't the only one who saw something similar.

Author's Note: I know this isn't much, but I started too many books and am trying to figure out enough ideas about what happens. Sorry.
