the country of the legend : japan
futakuchi-onna or the two mouthed women is a japanese urban legend about a women who is cursed with having two mouth , the first one is a normal mouth at the front and the second one on the other hand is behind her head, hidden by her long black hair.
This second mouth seems to be evil and endowed with bad intentions. This one is strongly voracious and begging for something to eat constantly, it has an appetite of ogre .
According to legends, the young woman, already tormented by this malformation, sees herself harassed and threatened by this supernatural mouth, especially when the latter considers that she has not eaten enough. It is also said that the mouth would be able to squeal and cause injury to its owner in order to make it react.
Many represent the strands of the young woman's hair as long black snakes or tentacles capable of bringing the meal themselves to the mouth, thus allowing her to feed herself as and when it wants.
so let's talk a bit about the legend of Futakuchi-onna, Futakuchi-onna is a female yokai that appears because of greed. I tell you: there was once a very stingy man. He was such a flu-penny that he refused to give up a single penny to even support a family. So he was alone.
One day, a beautiful woman came up to him. At first wary, he quickly changed his mind when she noticed that she was eating very, very, very little as she had told him. A golden opportunity, the miser married the woman. Days passed, his wife remained of perfect beauty and countenance, the best of women for not a round. After a while, however, the husband realized that the stocks of food were dwindling more than they consumed him and his wife.
They weren't thieves or pests, but what was it then? The husband went mad because of this mystery! It was there that he began to suspect everyone. And one day, when he was spying on his wife, he got the answer. And my god what an answer! He saw his wife's hair move through a sort of witchcraft, grabbing food and then heading for the back of his wife's skull and feeding a huge mouth with large fleshy lips and full of teeth. His wife was a yokai, a Futakuchi-onna.
The Futakuchi-onna is therefore a woman who presents a pretty face while hiding a monstrous mouth under her hair .
The miser was horrified and resolved to divorce his wife as soon as possible. However, she learned of his plan before he could act on it, and trapped him in a bathtub and carried him off into the mountains. The miser managed to escape. He hid in a heavily scented lily marsh where the futakuchi onna could not find him.
Another story tells of a wicked stepmother who always gave plenty of food to her own daughter, but never enough to her stepdaughter.
Gradually the stepdaughter grew sicker and sicker, until she starved to death. Forty-nine days later, the wicked stepmother was afflicted with a terrible headache. The back of her head split open, and lips, teeth, and a tongue formed.
This new mouth ached with debilitating pain until it was fed, and it shrieked in the voice of the dead stepdaughter. From then on the stepmother always had to feed both of her mouths, and always felt the hunger pangs of the stepdaughter she murdered.
