Evasion
There was a moment of complete silence as my head stopped humming. I stood, wiping the blood that refused to stop spilling from my fingertips, stretching my neck until it cracked. My legs felt slightly out of place, as if I should have fallen over because of the weakness that resided in them. Yet here I was, staring deep into my reflection. I wasn't tempted to rethink my living style, not even after what I've done. Piles of young corpses laid on the ripped up floor, and I stepped over one carelessly.
They were so small. So...vulnerable. They couldn't of protected themselves, even if they really wanted to.
My glance flickers to one in particular, lekku curling under one youngling's fingertips. She reminds me of someone I used to know. Her skin is not as orange, her eyes no longer bright; rather two, gaping white pools. Scoffing, I rip my look from her small body, and look forward. The Chancellor is laughing, I can tell that. Even though he isn't directly near me, I can at least know for the fact that someone is proud of me.
Is it wrong I don't feel any of the side effects of what I've done? My mind seems blank of any guilt. Surely I have to be feeling something.
But I've left that stage a long time ago, and I had no intention of coming back. Slowly, the last remnants of sanity and the Light left me, and I began to raise my head. A laugh circled my mind as I left the room, leaving dozens of souls silenced behind me.
Ahsoka was right.
I'm not Anakin.
