"Very interesting story they have. I hope we can get along as a whole later, however some may not want to know about them. It would cause more trauma," Hera commented.
Funny thing about us two, we're off colors. Hera is all bronze, while I'm a silver female (that's my biological gender moron don't tell a soul). All the girls are supposed to be gold, green or red while the guys blue, purple or silver.
I have no idea how he became bronze. NO CLUE.
[A/N: I looked at comments for the dragon colors, and that silver used to be bronze. Thought it would be a good reference... •_•]
"Agreed good friend," I looked up at the sky whimsically. A few bluebirds passed over us, unfazed on how we can breath fire. "If I'm correct, we're supposed to know that the Kymari aren't knowing we used to be humans."
"Except maybe a few, talking about those that bonded with them," Hera reminded my awesomeness with a wing flick to the side.
I huffed. "Uh, I totally knew that fact Hera. You didn't have to remind me-"
He interjected suddenly. "I know you knew, you just forgot to tell me you knew."
"You are a dragonet of Thanos," my face turned into a grin.
I glided down to a small pond. Several plants here aren't native to Earth, like these lilies. They resemble hand-sized lily pads, but the pads are the flowers. Also, they're electric blue, with a fire pattern in the inside petals.
According to the blood memories (random stuff about the aliens and intergalactic space) these are edible flowers, but it comes at a price for most creatures to eat them. They may experience heartburn if more than three has been consumed at a time. Thus the nickname blue heartburn lily.
I, along with several others, have eaten them. Most of us are wise enough to not go above the limit unless famished. Though, not many have been famished, unless trapped in an unknown location.
"Are you gonna eat that?" A childish voice chirped. Craning my neck right, a golden kid was eyeing the beautiful flower.
I shook my head at her. "No. Were you planning on eating it?"
She playfully jumped in the air with a smile. "Heck yes! I have never had one before, so it will be interesting."
"You know what happens when you eat more than three, right-" I asked, but got cut off.
"Yada yada I know heartburn stuff just can I eat them now?"
"Uh..." I looked at the child. Her eyes became the famous puppy dog we couldn't say no to. "Sure, but if you feel heartburn don't blame me."
Instantly she darted to the plant, ripping a petal off and gobbling it down. Hera was still above us, and like most times, was watching me like a hawk. I shook myself, creating the strange tinkling noise our scales make when rubbing each other, and flapped back up to him.
He smiled warmly. "Nice parenting skills, I would have done worse."
I felt myself go red under my silver scales. "But I haven't found love yet!"
"You sure about that?"
What does he mean about that? I know we're friends but come on! We don't have a sexual attraction to each other or anything... I think. Glancing back at the sky...
HOLY FUCK! A shuttle passed above, and suddenly exploded! I quickly darted away from the scene, Hera and the child being quick to act to follow. Pieces of the Kymari ship flew everywhere, landing merely behind us by a hair. The thought of being crushed drove myself to fly faster.
I think I spoke too soon, because when I started to sprint in flight, I actually slowed down to avoid crashing into a tree. It was that moment that I knew, that one of the shuttle pieces would break something in my body.
A sharp pain stabbed my tail, dragging me to the ground. I felt the world spin around... slowly getting darker... who is that coming to rescue me..?
...
Dad..?
Katy's POV:
Maybe I should've not fazed out like that. But then again, I was sleep deprived; and judging from a faint rumble of an explosion, the Kymari forgot to check for giant spider thingies.
"Hey, you know that you have been here way past lunch," a voice belonging to a perfectly black kit said. "My sister Faith has to wear a mask for some passion fruit, but I don't have any."
"Then why did you make the deal?" I asked, making a baby voice.
"Because you're brave enough to go outside on a hot day like this! I was wondering if you could..."
"Go out and fetch some fruit?" I finished for him.
He smiled wide. "Yeah! You don't mind?"
"Nah, I need to stop laying around incase something happens-"
As if on cue, everything shook violently. A part of our underground lair caved in, allowing sunlight to poor in hastily. I could hear Peter complaining from his burrow.
"Like that," I pointed to the hole in the roof.
A heartbeat later, what looked to be a piece of glass crashed in the center of the earth pile. I hesitantly crawled forward, shifting into climbing form out of fear. What was odd about this glass, was that it is lightly covered in soot.
I scaled the wall, and went to the chasm upside down. It wouldn't be safe for anything heavy to come here with this damage, which is why we trust the strong roots of trees.
Though, if there's a fire up there, then this is just gonna be a sinkhole. Only then are we doomed to the sun.
Poking my head out from the underground, several Kymari came out to play. Most of them were taking care of flickers before becoming a fire. I probably stuck myself out for too long because that same male Kymari noticed me again.
Though the task at hand kept him putting out the tiny flames.
Before I could go back into the underground, a foul stench smelling of rotting tomatoes slipped into my nostrils. Instantly my brain went into rage mode, making me grin madly. A few others came out with more of the same. I crawled closer to get a good view.
"Pyrikan alert!" A guard shouted, pointing to a glowing creature the color of marigolds.
Whatever that thing is, it has to die on the spot. It resembles a dragon, but not too small to be a dragonet. The wings are transparent yellow, shaped like a dragonflies'; and the end of its tail is a rusty hued feather. A black oval at the center. Two scarlet, curved horns adorn the back of its head, and a dark ring on its forehead. Its head reminded me of a gecko.
Something from the faint voices said that it could become a living fireball, and that voice is big.
The need to end its existence pushed me into shifting into a new form. My tail split in two halfway, while my arms reformed into wyvern-like wings. They probably can't do much, but it's better than nothing. My proboscis became a sharp dagger, perfect for slitting its throat.
Looking back to the others, about twenty came out with the same form.
"What the hell is this?!?" One of them exclaimed.
"Well, not time to talk. Here's Johny you Pyrikan!" Another roared, preparing to pounce.
He leapt into the air, diving wings first, forming an arrow. Without warning a green bolt of energy came from his mouth. It struck the fireball gecko with bizarre power.
Then the weird voices advice got real.
Suddenly it was on fire. Actual fire. Several guards pulled out some ray guns and began targeting it. Despite it being a ball of rage, I copied the first ones tactic, launching another wave of energy at the Pyrikan. The others did the same thing.
Now the armed spaghettis moved out of the way while we fought it. All of us circled around it, repeatedly launching blasts at the devious thing. It tried to find a gap in out formation but none was successful.
After, surprisingly three more blasts, it began to loose consciousness. The flames ceased to exist at this point. With a cry of rage I dove down and latched onto its neck. Why can't you just DIE ALREADY?!?! In a moment of pure justice, I slashed the middle of its throat with my dagger tongue followed by a shock of green energy.
...
"Ok everyone! This little fiend is dead!" I declared, quickly shifting into simple form and darting towards our open nest. The others followed swiftly, doing more of the same.
We sat together as a whole, and by "we" I mean all of us. The discussion of this must commence.
"To be clear, none of us have ever felt this rage before," a pale white, dotted with lavender spots lady spoke.
"Agreed," her golden friend nodded, "and who knew that we harness lightning!"
Murmurs echoed throughout our home, mainly talking about how we didn't know this before. A stormy-colored (with white ears) slime cat flailed their arms.
"B-but what about the Pyrikan?"
I felt myself go on edge. "If there are anymore of those things, they better not be around."
Bailey huffed with at-most the right amount of sass. "No kidding. The mere thought of them just makes me pissed off."
As if on cue again, a chunk of that thing's flesh slipped down in our home. The glass punctured it gracefully. Out of sudden anger I launched a bolt of energy at it. The meat just became scorched, perfect for someone with teeth to eat. What is with all this timing shenanigans?
"I know it's just flesh and I'm just a kit, but come ON! The stench is still there and I wanna fight it off!" The black kit screeched, small sparks of energy coming off them.
"Hold the phone, do you think one of the alien fruits did this?" Peter asked.
Once again, the murmurs flooded this place. Honestly, it is probably because of this new body. Or, the more reasonable reason of all reasons reasonable, the weather did this.
