So as much as I say I don't like the edgyness of the second half of SUF or any media like that overall.

But there was a cartoon that had a dark tone and I loved it.

And that show is.....

Yup! Sonic satam.

I love this show! I watched the episodes on youtube a few years back when I learned about this show.

This show had a dark tone and setting that wasn't asdesperate as the videogame Shadow The Hedgehog or..........

The second half of SUF XD

Okay sorry but really that second half was a slug to get through but I guess I could say what I liked in the second half.

The final episode was sweet......and..... um.....

I think that's it.

So let me talk why Sonic satam was able to make a dark tome story that doesn't comes of as an edgy fanfic.

Let's go over the story.

So Sonic satam takes place in planet mobius where doctor Julian Robotnik has taken over the world and his main base is the city of robotropolis previously known as mobotropolis.

The city is now full of swatbots and the citizens of the city that had been robotocided by the robotizer(sorry if I misspelled) removing their free will making them Robotnik's slaves, he also has under his command his nephew Snively and the two are trying to defeat a small group of kids known as the Freedom Fighters who had their secret base in the great forest in their village named knothole where they plot how to defeat Robotnik and recover robotropolis and the world from him.

The freedom fighters most notable members being:

Sonic The Hedgehog

Sally Acorn

Antoine

Bunny Rabbot

Rotor

So already this is a new spin, we start the series where Robotnik has already taken over the world qnd this leads to a lot of nice episodes but let's get on the characters first.

Sonic The Hedgehog: I mean why not start with the blue blur himself?

I gotta say this series where I was able to see Sonic be sad or vulnerable while still having that cocky attitude we most know him for. But still it's refreshing seeing Sonic sad or vulnerable. There's this episode one of the early season one episodes where Sonic and co. Manage to use the ring to get Sonic's Uncle Chuck who's roboticized to regan his free will but by the end of the episode they are not able to bring him back because the power of the ring and Sonic feels bad and sad as he doesn't want to leave his uncle cause he feels like he's abandoning him and that makes me feel bad to see Sonic cry or sometimes feel vulnerable amd while I mentioned SUF while Sonic can feel happy and cocky and sad honestly Steven only feels one emotion in SUF which is being angry but regardless moving on to the other characters in this show I love like I love Sonic.

Princess Sally Acorn: Sally can be consider the brain/strategist and the leader of the Freedom Fighters, she handles hacking and collecting data with Nicole. She goes on a lot of missions with Sonic and showing she can be a competent person capable of defending herself and her interactions with Sonic are pretty good.

Bunnie Rabbot: Half bunnie half robot, she was saved by Sonic before she was fully roboticized giving her enhanced strenght from the robot parts of her body, while she doesn't have many important appereances regarding missions, she acts as a mother to Tails who is more put in the side as he's the youngest.

Antoine: Antoine is a french coward guy......oh and he sorta has a rivalry with Sonic.....what? What else do you want me to say that's as much as I can say.

Rotor: The mechanic of the team, he much like Bunnie doesn't get into the action that much, but he acts as the one who builds machines and gadgets for the team.

Now let's talk about Robotnik.

This is the most intimidating version of Eggman we have ever seen and his voice. Aaaaaaahhhh his voice! So deep and menacing it can send chills down your spine. He can be quite menacing and even if his plans are thwarted, how little of a menace does he thinks of the freedom fighters to never be on the place of his plans taking  place yet he just stays in his chair watching from cameras, wow. One of the best villains.

I could go on and talk more about it but I think I left it clear why I think this dark tone story actually is entertain and people should take a few notes of if they want to make dark setting but not come of as edgy like a lot of things have in recent years.
