OMAKE #1 - Scroll 2: Himitsu Chikara

Hinata shuffled into Himitsu’s room to wake her up. It was half past eight, and they agreed to have breakfast at seven. She thought something was wrong, but obviously it was nothing, because Himitsu was spread eagle on her bed, sleeping. She felt strangely uncomfortable watching her sleeping, but then she shrugged it off.

Hinata sweatdropped at the sight, but made up her mind to wake Himitsu up. She walked over to her bed and tried to shake her.

With reflexes Hinata never knew Himitsu had, she suddenly had a kunai poised at her throat, dangerously close to her jugular. She gulped once and, almost lazily, Himitsu woke up. She acted as if she were burned, and quickly retracted the kunai on Hinata’s neck.

“I’m sorry, Hinata! I didn’t realize it was you and what time- I slept in! I’m so sorry, and I promise this probably won’t happen again and I’ll buy another alarm clock and I’m sorry and why didn’t my alarm go off!” Himitsu said, hopping around on one foot, grabbing random articles of clothing.

Hinata stared at her, deathly pale. I’m still alive? she thought. Poor Hinata fainted.

----------

Hinata woke up with an enormous migraine. What happened? Hinata squeaked as the past everts hit her full force. She looked to the right of her, realizing that she was passed out on the floor. Next to her, Himitsu lie fast asleep, even though the clock informed her it was noon.

Hinata stood up, albeit warily, and decided that she would definitely wake Himitsu up, somehow. With newfound determination, Hinata left the house.

She woke up as soon as I touched her. Would that mean all I have to do is touch her in some form? It might work…

Hinata was seen leaving the Shinobi Supply Shop with a tent pole. No one inquired why Hinata would buy only one pole, or why she would buy a tent pole at all when she had perfectly good ones in the compound, for fear of insulting the main branch. That didn’t mean people didn’t think why she was buying a tent pole. In the middle of August nothing less.

She entered Himitsu’s apartment once more, lugging the ten feet tent pole. Opening the door as gently as possible, she twisted the pole as efficiently as possible, so that it was in front of her.

Carefully, and with the utmost of care, she poked Himitsu with the pole, only to see a few seconds later a kunai sail by her head, making a solid thunk in the wall behind the doorway. It shaved off a couple pieces of her hair, but that didn’t seem as important at that moment. Himitsu woke up. Hinata promptly fainted.

----------

I don’t feel too good, Hinata thought as she queasily stood up. She checked the clock once again and recognized the fact that it was already three o’clock. It was in the afternoon. Looking out the window confirmed that. This is more trouble than it’s worth, Hinata thought, somewhat bitterly. However, she couldn’t stay mad at her clumsy friend for long.

Hinata once again went into a supply shop, however it was one very different from the Shinobi Supply Shop. This one sold handkerchiefs. Something that no shinobi would ever need.

She bought fifty, all different colors, just for the sake of it. She would only need one, but why not?

She used her pen —the one she conveniently kept in her shuriken holster— to make a grinning face on one handkerchief. She then decided to decorate all the other ones with various different faces. There were scared ones, happy ones, sad ones. Really anything and everything that was only limited by her imagination. She even put a cat one in there, just for kicks.

With Hinata satisfied with her work, she walked into Himitsu’s apartment yet again, in what others may have considered a futile attempt.

She opened the bedroom door, and threw the orange hankie with the cat face on it, directly at Himitsu. It was suddenly pinned by a kunai to the wall opposite Himitsu, to Hinata’s right.

Himitsu woke up, and Hinata wasn’t threatened in any way. The same couldn't be said about the handkerchief, but even then...

Success.

Come on guys!!! I can't have a Q&A sction without any questions ya know!

Nope. No picture.

I'll post that short story as soon as I finish the cover... which may take a while.
