In my history class, we're making world war two scrapbooks
Mine is going to be a lost soldier letters memorial
Since we have create the character stories, I'm researching all sides to more accurately write from different perspectives
I just finished a book by a Japanese veteran titled "Onward Towards Our Noble Deaths". It's actually a graphic novel, but yeah
I got shivers and almost cried at the end. It's a very powerful story, and I recommend it. It's not pretty or light hearted, bc war is awful, but it's an interesting look into a different mindset
The fact that it's 90% truth is even more sad. Thinking about the author going through all that makes it all the more difficult
But yeah. It's a fast read, but not an easy one
If anyone's a history buff and can recommend good books for soldier stories, let me know
