Chapter 5
(Y/n)'s POV
Khun handed me a silver sword with delicate engravings on the handle. I knew it was a weapon, but it looked beautiful...
"Have you tried to use a sword before?" he asked.
"Hatz showed me before..."
"Good, why don't you try sparring with me?"
"B-but I...can't..."
"Don't think about anything. Just attack me as if I'm your enemy."
He held out his sword, already waiting for me to attack first. *gulp* I haven't actually tried using a sword before. I've only seen Hatz spar with his students. What if I ended up hurting Khun? Or what if I wasn't good enough?
"(Y/n), if you're not gonna attack first, then I'll go," Khun said.
I just looked at him and nodded. He ran at me, holding the sword. Almost like this was an instinct, I immediately dodged and counterattacked without thinking.
Our swords clashed against each other again and again. I wasn't sure if it was because I've done this before or because of my reflexes but it actually wasn't that hard. All I had to do was find an opening and attack while dodging.
Suddenly, he enhanced his sword with his lighthouse. This seemed like it would be fatal if I got hit, and he was coming at me with full speed, giving me almost no time to dodge.
Without thinking, I used shinsu to boost my weapon and slashed down at him. He protected himself with the lighthouse barrier.
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't know that would happen. P-please forgive me!"
I quickly bowed, allowing my hair to hide my worried expression.
"That was good," he exclaimed.
"W-what?"
"I was hoping you'd use shinsu to enhance the sword, but I never expected you to be this strong."
"...that's why I don't like to use shinsu..."
"What do you mean? Because you're afraid of your power?"
I didn't answer him. The memories that I had forced myself to forget were all coming back to me. Those horrible scenes that were engraved into my memory...I just couldn't forget.
Khun's POV
(Y/n) dropped the sword, her hands shaking a little. Her breathing became fast and unsteady.
"N-no...I didn't do anything wrong..."
"(Y/n)-"
"Stop it! Go away! I-I didn't...ugh!"
The shinsu in the area suddenly became unstable and uneven. It was getting hard to breathe because of this. Damn it! What's happening now?!
"No! I didn't want to! Stop it!"
(Y/n) held her head, wincing at whatever was happening.
"Listen (Y/n)! Stop resisting it!"
"...K-Khun...?"
"Yes, it's me-"
"No, I didn't do it! Go away! I..."
"That's right, you didn't do it! Just calm down! Please!"
After a while, everything went back to normal as if nothing happened. (Y/n) collapsed to her knees, tears running down her cheeks.
"K-Khun, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that...I..."
I caught her before her head hit the ground. She was unconscious, most likely from the shock of the power she just released. It seemed as if she had a cruel past...did Hatz know about this?
~Some time later~
"What the hell did you do to (Y/n)?" Hatz asked angrily while grabbing onto my shirt.
"Listen, how an I supposed to explain if your head's filled with anger? This'll only cloud your judgement."
"*sigh* Just tell me what happened."
I explained everything that had happened. He was listening very carefully, like this had happened before.
"Now tell me why she did that."
"...you shouldn't make her use shinsu," he replied.
"Why?"
"Something happened in her past. I can't tell you what since these memories are hers, but it wasn't good."
"What wasn't good?"
"Last time (Y/n) used shinsu....she almost killed 20 villagers. That's not all that happened, but I suggest you don't find out any more. She has forced herself to forget because she doesn't want to relive those horrible moments."
Because she almost killed twenty villagers...I wouldn't care about that, but if I had (Y/n)'s personality then I would be too scared to even hurt a fly. *sigh* Why does this remind me of Bam so much?...
"Oi, you blue turtle! What happened?! Swordsman turtle ran out after you called him!" Rak exclaimed while sitting down.
"Nothing you need to concern yourself with."
"Eh?! Why is the quiet turtle here?!"
(Y/n)'s POV
Ugh, my head...what happened?...I opened my eyes. The first thing I saw was a crocodile?! I covered my mouth, preventing the scream from coming out. His face was so close to mine that I could barely breathe.
"Hey, she's awake!" he yelled.
"Get away from her, you moron! She'll die of shock because of your lumpy head!" said Khun.
"I'm your leader! You should treat me with respect! Since I'm the ultimate crocodile, Rak-"
"Ha! You called yourself a crocodile!"
"N-no I didn't! Stop spewing out lies!"
What's happening?...Did that crocodile just talk? And he was arguing with Khun? Ugh, all that noise was making my head feel worse...
"Can you two please be quiet? (Y/n)'s probably very confused right now," Hatz said.
"H-Hatz!"
He pulled me into a hug before ruffling my hair. I smiled at him. Khun gave me a glass of cold water, which I gratefully accepted.
"Listen, quiet turtle! I'm Rak! Your leader who you should devote yourself to-"
"Don't bother with him. All he's good at is yelling at the top of his lungs," exclaimed Khun.
"(Y/n), are you okay now?" Hatz asked worriedly.
I nodded. But what happened before? I remember snippets of it, but not everything. Wait...was Khun alright?! I was too bothered with my own feelings that I didn't even spare a thought for him!
"Khun, y-you're not hurt, are you?"
"I'm perfectly fine. Just worry about your own safety first or else your brother'll kill me."
"Hatz, you shouldn't hurt people like that..."
"*sigh*...okay, whatever you say."
I looked at everyone and smiled. A few days ago, I would've never imagined myself to ever meet this many people.
