(Y/n)'s POV

The pain spread throughout my entire body. It felt like my blood was flowing backwards while my bones were being crushed. I coughed and coughed till the pain finally stopped.

I sighed in relief, glad that the pain had disappeared. Ugh! The demon had begun to separate itself from my body, freeing me from its clutches. I hit the electrocuted bars as a strong force pushed me back. Tch, it hurt so much.

"Rachel! What did you do?!" the demon screeched.
"H-huh? I didn't do anything-"
"Why?! You know that I get weaker when someone says they hate me! And you even manipulated her feelings! You evil wench! It's obvious that her friends would never leave her behind so why?! Why did you have to make her feel that way?..."
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't realise..." Rachel replied quietly.
"Bam, now!" exclaimed Khun.

Bam blasted the demon spirit into dust, leaving no trace behind. Suddenly, flashes of certain memories flowed into my head. Was this...my past? I could tell that Bam was getting his memories restored as well.

Rachel growled in annoyance and escaped before anyone could touch her. I tried to stand up, but my body was too weak. The building began to shake, rocks and dust moving dangerously. Was it going to explode?!

Damn it. I couldn't move, I couldn't escape. It didn't help that I had a painful headache, preventing me from thinking properly. My vision was blurred, as if a huge cloud of fog had blocked my sight.

I felt someone gently lift me up off the cold, hard ground. The warmth coming off their body and their steady heartbeat calmed me down.

"(Y/n)...let's go home."
"K-Khun?.."

I felt my eyelids grow heavy as sleep engulfed me.

~Dream~

I wiped away my tears as Bam came running towards the forest. Mother had kicked me out of the house...again. She kept saying that I was a devil, a demon, some evil monster that needed to be killed.

"(Y/n), come on. I want to show you something."

Bam pulled me up and led me further into the forest. The trees separated, showing a narrow path. In the middle of the clearing was a table with a small cake on top.

"I asked mum to buy a cake. Happy Birthday (Y/n)," Bam exclaimed happily.
"Thank you!"

Today was my birthday, but it wasn't a happy one. All the joy I felt when Bam gave me the cake disappeared as soon as we heard an explosion that seemed to come from mother's house.

I followed Bam back home. The house was lit on fire. We quickly headed inside, searching for mother. Even though she treated me as if I was a monster, I couldn't just leave her here to die.

"B-Bam..." mother called out.
"We're here. We're going to help you-"
"No...(Y/n), take this. You two should get away from here. My legs have already been crushed. I cannot leave," she said.
"But-"

Bam got cut off as another part of the roof fell. I dragged him out of harm's way and fell back as he stumbled over his feet. Before he could go to mother, I grabbed onto his arm. She gave us a sad smile before a giant piece of wood blocked off her path to escape. We could no longer see her.

I clutched the envelope she gave me tightly in my hand and dragged Bam outside before we were burnt to death. Once we got outside, the house immediately collapsed.

Bam wiped away his tears, looking ahead at the pile of ashes that had once been our home. Mother was gone, and so was our house. We had nothing left but each other.

I opened up the envelope and read the letter.

'(Y/n),
I know you probably hate me. I understand if you can't forgive me. But I just did what I needed to do in order to keep you alive. I...once almost got Bam killed and asked a demon to save his life. But there was a price to pay. Being the coward I was back then, I offered you to the demon. It now possesses your body and love will only make it stronger...I'm sorry. I never hated you...but don't worry, you'll forget everything about your childhood and will hopefully live a happier life.

I immediately woke up. Khun was by my side, his hand holding onto mine. Was this his room? I tried pulling my hand away, but he wouldn't let go. He lifted his head up and pulled me into a tight hug.

I tensed up, unsure about what to do. Why...was he hugging me? What was he really feeling? My heart longed for him, but I wasn't sure about whether he felt the same.

"(Y/n), I'm sorry."
"Khun?..."
"I wanted to help you, I wanted to kill her so badly...I'm sorry for hurting you, so please...don't leave me again."
"Khun-"

He cut me off with a kiss. *blush* I immediately felt my heart beat faster and the heat rise up to my cheeks. This feeling...I had forgotten it was there. I haven't realised it until now...

"(Y/n), I love you."
"*smiles* I love you too."
"Don't leave me alone again..."
"I won't."
"Then it's a promise, okay?"
"O-okay, I promise."

He smiled at me before kissing me again. We quickly pulled away as soon as we heard the door open with a loud bang. Rak had kicked the door and broken it.

"Oi, you crocodile! Can't you knock or at least open it like a normal person?!" Khun asked, clearly angered.
"Stupid turtle. I do not use doors because they block off paths. I don't want my path to glory blocked by this stupid blue turtle's door," replied Rak.
"What the hell is he talking about?..."

I giggled. Why did they always argue whenever they see each other? It was a little strange, but it was funny.
The others came in and smiled. I smiled back, happy to be able to be in the company of my friends.
