Chapter Fourteen

"Thalia, where is Lady Artemis?" Clare said, walking over to my tree. I shrugged, and continued to gaze down at Camp Half-Blood from my position on a branch.

"No idea, Clare. Percy is gone too." I said helpfully. Clare frowned.

"If that boy dares to hurt our mistress, I swear that I will rip him apart." Clare threatened, and I choked on my breath.

"Woah, woah, woah! Percy isn't a normal boy. He's also my cousin, and to kill him, you go through me." I warned. The daughter of Hecate stared at me, before she nodded her head in understanding and walked away.

Just as she left, she called over her shoulder, "I respect your decision, and I also know what it's like to love, Thalia, and it didn't bring me any good. I just hope you're right about your cousin." I swallowed.

"I hope so too." I whispered.

:|Anagenniménos' POV|:

As our lips connected, sparks flew through my body. I knew this feeling, I'd experienced it with Annabeth. But not this strong.

After a second, we pulled apart, both of us blushing furiously. Artemis looked beautiful, illuminated by the moonlight. Her silver hair cascaded down her shoulders, and her silver eyes seemed to glow.

"D-Did you feel that?" Artemis stuttered hesitantly. I nodded slowly, remembering the spark and the feeling of electricity race through my nerves.

"Yes, M'Lady. It was almost...." I trailed off, blushing. She finished my sentence.

"Like we were meant to be." She said confidently. I smiled.

"Exactly." I agreed. Artemis grinned, before frowning.

"There is no need to call me M'Lady, Perseus." She spoke. I smirked.

"Then there is no reason to call me Perseus, M'Lady." I contradicted teasingly. Artemis smiled.

"If that's how it's going to be, Perseus, then so be it. Shall we?" Artemis said, extending her hand. I paused for a moment.

Was I really going to do this? Forget Annabeth, start anew?

It only took a second before my hand clasped around Artemis', a perfect fit. There was no way I would go back to that bitch.

"We shall." I grinned, and flashed us to Camp Half-Blood.

When the light cleared, we were standing on the top of Half-Blood Hill, and there was nobody in sight.

Walking forward and through the barrier, I hesitated underneath one of Thalia's tree branches.

"M'Lady, what does this mean about your vow?" I asked nervously. I could've sworn I heard someone gasp, but there was no one there.

Artemis bit her lip. "Honestly, Perseus, I do not know. Aphrodite said that love always finds a way, and with Lady Styx's river so clogged, I'm sure she wouldn't mind to let go of one vow from me. I've never broken it, or any of my other vows, I'm sure she'd be more than happy." Artemis said.

I let the information sink in, and then nodded. Then reconsidered. "Wait...are you saying you went to Aphrodite for love advice?" I said, shocked. Artemis blushes deeply.

"I never said that." She said hastily and defensively. I grinned.

"Ooh! Percy just burned you!" My neck whipped up, and I saw Thalia grinned down at us like a maniac from one of the tree branches. The tree branch we were standing under.

"Oh, hey Thals!" I greeted casually. Meanwhile Artemis was clutching her heart and choking in either shock or embarrassment.

"Um, M'Lady, are you alright?" Thalia said after a few seconds. Artemis waved a hand dismissively.

"I'm fine, Thalia. Thank you for your concern, though. You just scared the living Tartarus out of me." She said, calming down. I laughed, and Artemis shot me a death glare.

Thalia joined in, and so did Artemis, although somewhat reluctantly. We were all smiling, oblivious to everything around us.

Which was a huge mistake on our part.

:|Annabeth's POV|:

The first scream was what woke me up from another fitful demigod dream. It was shrill, and high, almost like a signal.

It was only later that I recognized that it was Thalia's call to summon the Hunters for assistance.

"Annabeth, what's happening?" Jane said fearfully, her blue orbs wide. I smiled sadly at her.

"I don't know, Jane. Just stay in here, and stay out of danger. We don't want anyone getting hurt, and your still drained from whatever exercises you were doing yesterday." I said guiltily, trying to ignore her hurt expression.

I could almost swear she looked really guilty as I mentioned her being drained.

"Annabeth, come on, they need us out there!" Malcolm yelled over his shoulder as he exited out cabin, his armor strapped on and his sword clutched tightly in his grasp.

"Hey, Annabeth, be careful. Good luck." Jane said quietly, and I smiled, finishing putting on my armor and drawing my drakon bone.

I yelled to the rest of the campers to get in formation, and sprinted to the front lines, my blonde hair whipping around in its ponytail.

"Demigods, attack!" I screamed, and rushed forward into the first line of...nothing I had never seen before.

I caught glimpses of Percy fighting back to back with Thalia, and Artemis firing arrow after arrow. I slashed and hacked at anything and everything take came within a two foot radius of me, and I didn't seem to be doing by damage.

Someone gave a strangled cry and fell back, then another. We were loosing.

The monsters we we're fighting were like nothing is ever seen before. They had bat like wings, with tall and yet shriveled bodies. Their eyes were blood red, and their grey skin was dotted with patches of raw muscle.

Each carried a weapon, all of them different. As I analyzed the opponent, I didn't see the hit until I felt the wind rush by my ear and graze it. I fell to the ground.

Looking up, startled, I saw Percy, wildly attaching one of the creatures, his eyes cold with anger and power.

"Percy..." I trailed off weakly.

"Chaos, Chase, get off your ass and actually do some real damage. Your bone is not gonna do anything against their skin. Here." Percy said quickly, and tossed me a dagger, as black as night. It reminded me of what Luke had given me, but I pushed the thought away. This was not the time to get lost in memories.

"Thanks-" I began, but Percy was already gone, a streak of light in the darkness.

:|Thalia's POV|:

My bow was disregarded, my hunting knives a blur of silver. My spear rested in my pocket, but I doubted it would slice through the touch skin of the mysterious creatures, Migimites, Percy had called them. Foam was dripping from my opponents mouth, and I wrinkled my nose in disgust.

"Percy! Do these things have a weakness!" I shrieked as I dived to the ground, narrowly dodging a blow to the head. Tentatively reaching up, I found that some of my hair had been grazed.

"Yes! At the top of their necks, underneath the chins. Stab there, it should kill them quickly!" He yelled back, slicing through the Migimites casually.

"Argh!" I snarled, and stabbed upwards with a knife, instantly killing one. Pleased with my work, I flipped backwards, and swung my knives around me, cutting open some of the Migimites' ugly bat wings.

I heard Percy shouting something at Annabeth, and my sisters were fighting beside me, all a blur of silver. Artemis wasn't even close to Percy's speed, and I sliced the throat of another monster.

The army of Migimites reduced to about three, began to retreat, their wings fluttering uselessly at their sides.

"Not so fast." I heard Percy mutter, before he sprang into the air, decapitating all of them at once. The campers cheered.

However, I could see Percy's frown, and I knew immediately what he was thinking. We'd had trouble defeating just one small army. The campers weren't in good shape.

As of now? We were pretty much doomed.
