The Vampire And The Time Meddler Pilot
The air around her buzzed as the girl found her surroundings changing. The room was white with round things on the walls, a large sort of computer console in the center of the room. "What the hell?" She muttered as she started hearing the alarms.
"Hold onto something!" A man spoke as he messed with the controls on the console. She hadn't noticed him a moment ago.
"What's happening?!" She asked as she ran over to the console, unsure if she could help in any way.
"System is having a fit!" The man replied with an angry growl as he flipped a couple switches. "The ship is trying to repel something"
"Repel? What is it? What's it trying to repel?" She quickly asked as the ship shook. She looked over the controls and realized she had no clue how to help.
The man flipped one more switch and finally the ship stopped shaking and the alarms silenced themselves. "There we go" he said with a smirk.
"What's happening?" She asked one more time as she began to calm down.
"Something tore open a rift in space and time three point seven meters from where I'm standing" he replied simply as he flipped another couple of switches. "And they sent something through"
"Excuse me?" She asked as her eyes widened.
The boy continued as if she hadn't spoken. "Something with two arms, two eyes, two legs, one stomach, and one heart"
"What is it?" She quickly asked as she looked around, beginning to freak out.
"You" the man replied simply, his voice dripping with hate.
"Oh" she nodded simply, finally understanding as she calmed down again.
"I'm (y/n), and this is my home. I don't enjoy having uninvited guests in it" the man spoke as he flipped one more switch before walking around the console to stare down at the strangely dressed girl. "You are trespassing"
"That's... one way of looking at it" she whispered in response as she stared up into the man's eyes.
"Who are you?" The man demanded as he grabbed the girls arms and caused her to yelp.
"Hey! Let go!" The girl struggled against his grip before baring her teeth and growling.
"Vampire!" The man growled as he backed up, the raw fear on his face shocked her.
"Yeah! Now back off!" She growled as she played into his apparent fear of her. She quickly turned to mist before reappearing behind the man. "I'm Jubilation Lee! Vampire! So don't touch me again!" She pushed him forward so he fell to the ground.
"Are you from earth?" The man asked as he quickly got back up and backed away from her. Jubilee nodded. "Figures. Last planet in the universe that still has you vermin"
Jubilee glared at him, realizing this man acted more like a boy. "That's a strong word, little man"
The man glared at her, looking like he was considering the ways to get rid of her. "What are you doing here? The ship defenses should keep everyone out, especially those that are of an enemy species"
"I have no idea" Jubilee spoke simply and with an infuriating smugness that just made her words all the more annoying.
"Of course you do. You show up here and don't even freak out about being here with me, you know how you ended up here" (y/n) spoke as he looked Jubilee over.
"I'm not sure I like your attitude" Jubilee crossed her arms. "You're a terrible host, I'm not here by choice you know!"
"I didn't know! Because you won't tell me why you're here!"
"Don't start yelling at me again!" Jubilee growled once more. "If you treat me with respect then maybe I'll do the same to you"
(Y/n) sighed and rubbed his head. "Just tell me how you got here" Jubilee glared. "Please?"
She was silent for a moment before uncrossing her arms. "Last I remember I was at the arcade, playing space invaders of course-"
"Of course" (y/n) rolled his eyes. "Late twentieth century?"
"Excuse me?" She asked with a small frown.
"Ninety eight? Ninety?" The boy asked, trying to figure out where she was from. "Just guessing based on your weird clothes"
Jubilee glared at him again. "Twenty twenty" she huffed.
"My mistake" he shrugged before motioning for her to continue her story as he went back to the console.
"Well-" she was silent for a moment. "Well then is where it gets fuzzy" she shrugged. "I remember being taken, they wanted me for something, but I'm not sure who they were. I remember nothing after that"
The boy looked up from the console and frowned. "Nothing at all? Not one helpful little detail?"
"Well... no" Jubilee shook her head as she racked her brain for details.
"Well, no matter" the man flicked a switch on the console. "Just be a dear and stand still for me, alright?"
Jubilee frowned but nodded, ready to disappear if need be. Suddenly he flipped another switch and Jubilee screamed as she found that the round things on the walls seemed to be shining with sunlight. Suddenly before she could burn up she was gone.
When she reappeared the room was darkened and the man was struggling to regain control of his lights. "Damn machine!" He growled as he hit it.
"What the hell?!" He didn't look up as Jubilee stormed over to him. "You could have killed me!"
"That was sort of the point" the man spoke as he finally looked up at Jubilee, standing his ground this time. "Evidently whoever sent you to me wants to make sure you survive"
Jubilee grabbed the man by the collar and held him up in the air. "You try that again and I'll-"
"You'll do nothing" he spoke as he stared daggers into her. "Without me you'll be stuck in here forever. You couldn't pilot this ship if you tried"
"I'm smarter than I look" Jubilee countered as she returned his glare.
"Doubtful but that's not what I meant" the man replied. "I mean you really couldn't. No matter what your boss does this ship would never allow a vampire to fly her"
Jubilee continued to glare for a moment before putting the man back down. "Good girl. Now back away from me so I can focus on turning the lights back on"
"No-"
"No sunlight, promise" (y/n) rolled his eyes as he cut her off with the response she was hoping for. "We've already seen that won't work" he looked down at the controls and flipped a few switches.
Jubilee was about to back up when suddenly she felt something in her head, a pressure to do something. She walked to the other side of the console, looking it over as she reached into her pocket. Without thinking she pulled something out of her pocket and placed it on the underside of the console.
Suddenly the ship rocked and Jubilee forgot what she had just done. "We're in flight" the man frowned as he tried to figure out why they were moving. "Why are we in flight?"
"Where are we going?" Jubilee asked as she grabbed hold of the console as the ship rocked even harder, almost knocking her down.
"I don't know! If I did I wouldn't be surprised!" He growled back as he flipped some switches, trying to stop their movement.
After a moment they finally seemed to stop. Jubilee let go of the console and looked wearily at the man standing on the other side of it. "Are we-"
"We've landed. Where I don't know" he replied before looking up at Jubilee. "How about you go out and check?" He motioned to the door which he opened with a flick of a switch on the console.
"Sure" Jubilee rolled her eyes before walking towards the door skeptically. "Looks like earth" she spoke as she stood in the doorway and stared out into the village that they were in. "No clue where"
(Y/n) flipped a switch before snarling as he realized he couldn't close the door on Jubilee. The ship now counted him and her as one person, either they both had to be on or off the ship or the doors wouldn't close.
He walked over to Jubilee and stood beside her, also looking out over the village. "How do you feel about a trip out there?"
Jubilee frowned. It was night out there, so she wouldn't burn up, but she didn't know how long it would stay that way. "What if-"
"Parasol?" The man pulled the large device from his left pocket before holding it out to Jubilee. "Between this and you having most of your body covered you should be fine"
Jubilee frowned even more. "I guess so" she took the parasol and opened it before walking out of the ship, making sure her head was completely shaded by the device in her hand. "If this doesn't work-"
"Whoever put you with me is determined you stay alive" the man shook his head as he walked out after Jubilee, closing the door behind them. "They won't let you die" he hoped he was wrong.
