Marvel 2162 Pilot

It all began in the year two thousand one hundred and fifty seven. That's when the Daleks wiped out the human colonies around the universe. Billions dead, just like that.

Then came the meteorites. They fell on earth, the homeworld and last known home of the human race.

The meteorites turned out to be more than just what they appeared. They had contained a plague that was let loose on the earth once they had crashed into it. It crippled humanity.

By the time the Daleks finally invaded the next year entire contents had already been wiped out. South America, Africa, and most of Asia were desolate. Luckily some humans had been immune.

Then the Daleks went after the remaining politicians. Some were killed in public places, those who tried to hide away were burned alive in the buildings they hid in.

New York City was completely destroyed. It was the first city burned to the ground for resisting the Daleks. The heroes who lived there all died trying unsuccessfully to save as many as they could. Not one poor soul made it out. Wakanda was the next to be burned with many more places soon following. They were the lucky ones.

The Daleks didn't have enough of their forces to hold the planet, due to this they turned most of the surviving human population of earth into Robomen, cyborg slaves who would do anything their Dalek masters would order of them.

The few humans that weren't captured remained in hiding, there were only a few small holdouts left, the biggest one being the one in Latveria. Some say Doom made a deal with the Daleks but nobody knew for sure.

The streets of the desolate and decimated New York City were silent aside from the sounds of the occasional rodent scuttling around and a few distant Daleks. Due to its lack of human life this city was light on Dalek patrols, making it a good spot for anyone who could make it there alive.

(Y/n) McShane walked through the alleyways of the city as silently as he could. He had been traveling through the city for a day and a half now, following a primitive map that was at least a hundred years old. He wasn't even sure if he was reading the map properly.

The boy was forced out of his thoughts by the sound of boots hitting the ground. He quickly slipped behind a dumpster and listened as the Robomen passed by the alleyway.

He waited a couple more minutes before getting out of his hiding spot and making his way to the alley's exit. He glanced around, noting that the robomen were facing away from him before slowly and silently making his way across the street and towards another building.

"Halt!" The boy stopped suddenly at those words and turned around. Nothing was there but the voice was unmistakable. He looked up and saw what had spoken standing on the roof of a smaller brownstone building with a plaque beside the door. "All occupants of this sector are to be sent to the mines. Surrender or be exterminated!"

"I surrender!" (y/n) spoke loudly as he put his hands up. He knew it had only been a matter of time until he had been caught. He was lucky he had avoided the Daleks this long.

"Elevate!" The Dalek began to float down from the top of the building it was on and landed on the ground before (y/n). "Turn right" the Dalek commanded, prompting (y/n) to do as it said. He knew that if he so much as hesitated it would end with his extermination. "Forward!" The boy began walking and the Dalek followed behind him, its gun aimed directly at his back.

The Dalek mines were a miserable place but Gabby Kinney had survived much worse during her long life. Many times she had attempted to escape this terrible place but each time resulted in her getting shot. Because of her healing factor she wouldn't die but after the first few shots the Daleks had learned to use their paralyzing beams as well as the fatal ones, that usually kept her down for an hour or two. Plenty of time for the Daleks to haul her back to the mines.

Now Gabby used her claws to mine for the Daleks. She growled as the bone's extending from her knuckles cut away more and more of the rock. Each hit also eroded her claws, prompting them to grow back as quickly as they could as a result. She refused to use the tools that the Daleks gave her. She hoped that the excessive use of her healing factor would help it to adapt to work faster and in turn help her to escape the Daleks.

"Ah!" She growled as she hit the rocks one more time, breaking off most of her claw because of how hard she hit. She snarled in pain before retracting her claw and waiting for it to regrow.

Gabby let out a pained whimper as she rubbed her aching knuckles. She looked around to make sure no Daleks had noticed the quick break she was taking.

"Resume your mining!" A Dalek demanded just as Gabby saw it. She was surprised there were only three today, usually there were at least four.

Because most of New York had been wiped out Gabby was the only prisoner in this specific mine. Normally that would annoy her since that meant all Dalek attention was on her, but at the same time it meant that the Daleks hadn't found where she'd come from, otherwise there would be many more mutants working these mines.

Gabby turned back to the tunnel she was mining before punching the stone, she heard the cracking of her bones and felt them begin to heal at the same time.

After a moment she realized that she smelled something strange. She stopped mining for a moment and sniffed the air, it smelled of sweat. Daleks didn't sweat. It certainly wasn't her own sweat, she had grown numb to that smell since coming here.

She turned her head as she heard the doors open and spotted the missing fourth Dalek and the prisoner that he brought in.

"Resume your mining!" The Dalek that had ordered Gabby before repeated its command before shooting Gabby.

The mutant girl screeched in pain as the deadly beam hit her, causing her skin to go a translucent blue and her skeleton to become visible.

She gasped as the shot ended and her eyes locked with the boy that the Daleks had brought in. He looked understandably shocked to see that she had survived the shot.

Gabby turned back to the rocks and extended her partially healed claws from both hands once again. She resumed her mining.

She listened as the boy was led by the Daleks to a table where he was forced to pick up a pickaxe and a shovel. Her bone claws continued to chip away and break as the rocks did the same. Her teeth biting on her lip as she suppressed the desire to stop and attack her captors.

"Hi" Gabby turned her head as she continued mining and looked at the boy who had the misfortune of joining her.

"Silence!" A Dalek screamed at the boy half a second after his word.

He sighed before looking at the rocks ahead of them and the tunnel that Gabby had started making that went downwards. He began hitting the rocks with his pickaxe and Gabby instantly noticed that he had never done this before, he wasn't great at it.

Gabby turned back to the rocks as she continued to slash at them with her claws.

After hours upon hours of silent mining (y/n) only knew that it was the night time when finally the Daleks declared that they'd have a couple of hours to rest. That was more time than (y/n) had expected to be given.

The mutant girl who'd been working beside him fell backwards and closed her eyes as soon as they were given permission to rest.

"Doesn't that hurt your back?" (y/n) whispered as he watched the girl curl into a ball on the dirt floor. He sat down a few feet away and glanced at where the Daleks were exiting the room, the door closing and locking behind them. No doubt there would be at least one guarding the other side of the door.

"I get shot by the Daleks daily. Compared to that I barely even feel falling" the girl replied as she opened one eye and looked at the boy.

"Ah" (y/n) nodded, unsure about what to say in response. "How long have you been here?"

"I don't know" Gabby answered with a sigh. "Weeks. Maybe months. It's hard to tell here"

"Right" (y/n) nodded. If a mutant like her couldn't escape then what hope did he have? He probably wouldn't even survive the week.

"I'm Gabby" the girl spoke suddenly, pulling the boy from his thoughts.

"(Y/n)" the boy replied as he leaned against a wall.

"Mhm" Gabby nodded as she closed her eyes. "You live in this area?"

"No" (y/n) shook his head, causing the tired girl to frown. "Just got caught making my way through the City"

"Ever made your way to Westchester?"

"No" (y/n) replied, causing Gabby to groan. "Should I have?"

"No. Was just hoping you'd seen some people. That you could tell me they're alright" Gabby replied before she went silent.

"Sorry" (y/n) replied simply as he watched the girl. After a minute she began to snore and (y/n) closed his own eyes.
