Life's an eternal war

Wars breed heroes

Battles breed scars

Each mark tells a story

Of courage and hope

Shining among the stars

A badge of Honor

Engraved for life

A river flows

Through the rough

A Mark of valor

Across the flesh

Immortalized

In heaven above

A pure soul's born

New life comes forth

The bargain’s a mark

To take with mirth

A petty flaw's nothing

Compared with birth

Survivor's healed wound

Reminder of their fight

A miracle of its own

Of wrong things gone right

The illness of the past

Begets strength and might

Children show them off

Proud, they do their duty

Learn to love your scars

For they speak of your beauty

We all have scars, be it physical or emotional ones. But we shouldn't forget that  scars are the signs of healing. They show that we have been warriors. We have fought a battle of war, illness, injury, emotional pain, but in the end, we survived and we are still standing...
