The Sons of Garmadon took Lloyd to the Temple of Resurrection.

"So this is your true face, without the mask. No wonder you covered it." Lloyd says to Harumi.

Harumi growled "Bite your tongue, Green Ninja. The fight is all but over."

"Where are you taking me?" Lloyd asks.

"Trapped in the Palace of Secrets all my life, it gave me time to make a few... discoveries." Harumi replies "Yes, I destroyed the palace, but I was careful to make sure it didn't damage the Temple of Resurrection."

"What's the Temple of Resurrection?" Lloyd asks.

"It's a place the First Empress of Ninjago created," Harumi replies "and you need not know anything else."

Ultra Violet walks up to them "The Ninja have survived. They are in the city with the guard captain."

"What was that you said about the fight being over?" Lloyd questions smugly.

"Let them come. If anyone tries to stop me, I always have my insurance policy" Harumi points to Misako getting thrown into a cage.

"Mom!" Lloyd shouts

"Lloyd? She's crazy. She wants to bring back your father!" Misako tells him.

"I've been so looking forward to this...family reunion" Harumi laughs.

"Let her go!" Lloyd shouts angrily.

Harumi turns to the other Sons of Garmadon "Prepare the ceremony, we begin at nightfall!"

"I won't let you get away with this" Lloyd says angrily.

"You fail to realize, you already have." Harumi replies.

The Sons of Garmadon have Lloyd trapped in another cage near his mother.

"What are you doing?" Lloyd asks as Harumi approaches him.

"The three Oni Masks alone won't bring back your father. For the ritual to succeed, I also need a hair from the son" Harumi plucks his hair "and from the wife" Mr. E lowers Misako's cage, making Lloyd's go up, and Harumi plucks her hair. "And I already collected one from the brother, dear little Wu."

"Why give Aria the promise of bringing back her mother?" Lloyd questions, holding onto the bars of his cage. "Won't she realize she's bringing back the wrong person as soon as she sees this little ritual?"

"That's where you're wrong Lloyd, the poor girl won't even realize until it's too late." Harumi tells him "You see, we've already collected both her and her brother's hair. I thought about this, you know you and her hair looks a lot alike? And compared to Wu's, Zero's hair may be more silver, but in the dark of the night you can hardly tell. A third strand of hair wouldn't be too noticeable."

"You're taking advantage of her feelings," Lloyd states, gripping the bars angrily.

"After everything, you're still in love with her." Harumi laughs "Didn't you hear her? She was using you, just as I'm using her."

"You're wrong," Lloyd replies "I know her."

"The longer you cling onto those beliefs, the harder the heartbreak will be." Harumi sighs "You really are naive, she didn't even believe you when you tried to tell her the truth."

"Your plan will fail," Lloyd says.

"We will see about that," Harumi turns around "Are we ready to begin?!"

Ultra Violet, Killow, and Mr. E goes to Harumi with the masks.

"What were you talking about son?" Misako asks Lloyd "Were you talking about Aria? Aria Lord?"

"Yeah, the Idol," Lloyd replies.

"I didn't think she would go to such lengths to bring her mother back," Misako says sadly. "I know it was tragic, but Layla knew it would happen."

"You.. know what happened?" Lloyd asks, looking over at his mother.

"Layla was a friend," Misako replies "after she was killed by her husband, we thought it was best-"

"What?!" Lloyd grabs onto the bars "Say that again."

"After she was killed by her husband?" Misako repeats confused.

"The Overlord.. killed his own wife?" Lloyd asks as he looks down at the ritual.

"She was protecting her children," Misako nods sadly "she knew the Overlord would find a way to get to them. After you and Aria were born, just as I knew you would become the green ninja. Layla knew Aria would inherit his power, and that he would come to kill her. The kids were too young to understand who the Overlord truly was. We didn't want to tell them until they were older."

"...Aria doesn't know.. it wasn't the people who killed her mother," Lloyd mutters. "Aria thinks.. one of the citizens of Ninjago killed her mother."

Lloyd looks over at the Sons of Garmadon.

"Any trouble?" Harumi asks them.

"Nothing the others can't handle," Killow replies.

"Then the ceremony is ready," Harumi smirks. "Place the masks in position, call for Aria."

"It doesn't matter what you do Harumi," Lloyd states "you will fail."

"Even if I do," Harumi turns to him "at least I'll get something out of it."

"What would you get out of it?" Lloyd questions.

"A good show," Harumi replies with a smirk "I wonder how the people of Ninjago would act when they see their precious Idol had betrayed them, and has been working to destroy this city?"

Lloyd growls as Ultra Violet walked into the area with Aria behind her. Lloyd holds onto the bars of his cage as Aria looked through the spellbook in her hands, never looking at him.

"Are you ready?" Harumi asks her with a smile "We will welcome the mistress with open arms."

"I am," Aria replies with a sad smile "I'll finally be able to bring mother back."

"Aria, you won't bring your mother back!" Lloyd shouts "They're lying to you!"

"Don't listen to him," Harumi stood in front of Aria "he's just trying to stop you from performing dark magic."

Aria nods as she walks over to the ceremony. The torches light up around them as her eyes glowed purple "Clotho venge. Clotho decer. Clotho haeed."

Misako panicked "Lloyd, it's starting. Where are the Ninja?!"

"Clotho venge. Clotho decer. Clotho haeed, Clotho venge! Clotho decer! Clotho haeed. Rip the fabric between realms! As your ruler I call upon you! Connect me to...the Departed Realm"

The portal started opening and Harumi stepped up. "I call upon thee lord of many names. Lord of Destruction! King of Shadows! Lord Garmadon! Garmadon!"

Aria's eyes widen as she turned to her "Y-You.. he was right."

"Whoopsie," Harumi chuckles "too late now."

The walls were broken down as Aria fell to her knees in despair. 

"The Ninja!" Harumi shouts.

They submerge Lloyd into the water as the fight broke out. Aria put her hands on the magic circle.

"It's.. never too late," Aria mutters.

"My son! Help him!" Misako calls out.

Cole runs over to Misako and breaks open her cage as Kai dove into the water. Aria's eyes glow purple as Harumi and the Sons of Garmadon were fighting against the police and other ninja. Harumi looks through the chaos to see Aria radiating dark energy.

"No!" Harumi shouts "Stop her!"

Harumi runs towards Aria only to be stopped by Zero. Aria sent her energy into the magic circle and the ground began to crack.

"No!" Harumi screams, attempting to push Zero off of her.

Lloyd was pulled up out of the water by Cole as Kai climbed out beside him. The two watched as the magic circle's glow faded, and the ground was left cracked in two. Aria's eyes turned back to green as she looked around at the chaos.

Harumi threw Zero off of her and ran towards Aria.

"You'll pay for that!" Harumi screams.

Aria looked up as Harumi went to stab her, Aria simply closed her eyes without a fight. 

"No, you don't!" Lloyd uses his energy to create a shockwave that knocked out the Sons of Garmadon and Harumi. 

Aria opened her eyes as Harumi's dagger slid in front of her. The Commissioner and his forces storm the area to arrest the villains with a screaming Harumi. Zero walked over to Aria slowly and held his hand out to her.

"Brother.." Aria mutters as she looks up at him.

"Come on," Zero says.

Aria takes Zero's hand as the ninja all look at her with a look of pity. Lloyd looked like he wanted to go to her but was held back by his mother. The Sons of Garmadon were being loaded into cop cars, the people of Ninjago were gathering around to watch. The ninja watched as Zero placed Aria in cuffs, without any fight from her.

"It'll be okay," Zero tells her comfortingly.

"Just take me away," Aria mutters.

"Aria.." Lloyd says sadly, his mother rubbed his back to comfort him.

Time seemed to move in slow motion as Zero walked Aria out of the ceremony sight. The number of gasps heard from the crowd were blatantly obvious as Aria was taken out for them all to see. Zero stood by Aria's side, trying to block her as much as he could. Aria looked down at the ground as the flashes of cameras went off like wildfire. The silence didn't seem to last long, before people began to shout at her.

"I can't sit by anymore!" Lloyd pulls away from his mother.

"Lloyd!" Misako and the ninja call out to him.

"Lloyd don't!"

Lloyd ran over and put his arm around Aria's shoulders, standing on the opposite side of Zero. Aria looked up at him with a mix of confusion and surprise. Without a word, the two boys pulled her to the cop car, shielding her from the people surrounding them. Lloyd lifted her up and helped her into the car, closing the doors slightly so people couldn't see.

"Why.. did you do that?" Aria asks quietly.

"I told you before," Lloyd replies as he stood at the door. "No matter how bad you think it is, the imperfect side to you that you feel the need to hide... I will accept all of you."

Aria began to cry, and Lloyd hugged her tightly.

"I'm sorry," Aria apologizes as she cried "I'm so sorry."

"I love you Aria," Lloyd tells her in a gentle but serious tone. "I refuse to believe that you don't love me. Not after everything. You might think you're too damaged, too broken, to love and be loved. But you're wrong, cause even after all of this, you're the only one I care about."

Aria continued to cry as Lloyd closed his eyes and just hugged her, ignoring the cameras flashing around him. The ninja rushed out and were keeping the citizens away. 

"Everyone go back home!" Cole tells them.

"Nothing to see here," Kai adds.

Lloyd lets go of Aria and looks at the ninja with a thankful look, Cole nods to him before turning back to the crowd. Aria raised her cuffed hands to wipe her tears.

"Thank you, for stopping the ceremony." Lloyd says as he takes a piece of paper out of his pocket. "I was given this to give to you, Aria."

"...how could you still love me?" Aria asks as she takes the paper from him.

"Well," Lloyd grabs one of her hands "Do you still love me?"

"I-"

"Honestly, and seriously." Lloyd cut her off "That feeling you said you felt that warm comfortable feeling. Of wanting to be with me... do you still feel it? Do you love me?"

"Yes," Aria replies as her eyes teared up again.

"That's all I need to know then," Lloyd says as he wraps his arms around her again. "You waited for me the past two years; I can wait as long as I need to for you now. After all, you have a piece of my heart, so you have to see the other side of this. Okay?"

"Okay," Aria agrees as tears streamed down her face.

Lloyd let her go slowly and took a step back, Aria gripped the paper in her hand as Lloyd smiled to her.

"This isn't goodbye Ari," Lloyd tells her "This is see you later."

"See you later," Aria replies with a sad smile as the tears streamed down her face.

The commissioner closes the doors, and the ninja stood beside Lloyd as the car drove away. Zero sighed as he turned around and looked at the palace.

"Thanks Lloyd," Zero says.

"You don't need to thank me," Lloyd states as he watched the car in the distance. "Cause I meant every word I said."

The Sons of Garmadon bickered with each other as the cop car drove towards the prison. Aria sat away from them all, and unfolded the paper Lloyd gave her.

My dearest Aria,

I know it's weird to receive a letter from me, but if you do, it means I'm gone. I wanted to write down things I wish I could've said in person. Don't be picky with your food, even if you're not rich or doing anything meaningful, I hope you live life to its fullest.

I hope you fall in love with someone who gives you the world, when I couldn't. I hope your brother isn't too hard on them, but I also hope he protects you from those who wish to harm you. Speaking of which, your father is a bad man. I know as long as he's gone, he can never harm you.

You may think your powers are meant for evil, but there can be light in darkness. I hope, you use them for good. In the end, I don't mind if you end up like your father, I really don't. As long as your alive and happy, that's all I want for you.

I always said you were my little star, and you're meant to shine brightly. Don't let anyone dim your light, because you're meant for something. My darling, don't ever forget who you are. Remember, that I love you dearly, even though I'm no longer there. I know, you will become someone worth taking notice of.

Aria held the letter close to her as she held it to her chest. She cried quietly as the car shook lightly, the lights of the streets seeping in through the cracks of the door.

"Don't worry mom," Aria mutters with a small smile. "I get it now."
