As I continued to read I lost track of time, but not really caring about what time it was considering I couldn't take my eyes off the pages or put the book down. For more information I had to know what this was all and what it all meant for me and my future. As I read further I came across how witches/wizards know when they first meet their other half, the other soul that binds them and makes them whole. It's a combination of sight, touch, and smell, their scent is stronger than others, sweeter and more appealing than others. It's as if they are calling to you and your body begins to need them, to smell them 24/7, touch them, see them, all the time. When you first set eyes on them it's as if they world is brighter, more colorful than it was before, you can see and feel things ten times better around them.

Their touch does wonders and thats why it's hard to stay away from them, the need to complete the bond is so strong. That normally within hours or days of meeting you complete the bonding ceremony or ritual to complete your souls making them one with the other. When it comes to touch, the first time and then every time after that with each touch you feel sparks, tingles or butterflies within your stomach. For imprinters it's similar, the need to be around them, to see them, touch them, smell their scent it's the same as other mates out there. The bond is a special thing and rejection is very rare when it comes to imprints and soulmates/mates. For reasons being the bond is too strong and without your other half you could die or loose yourself to your magic/beast within you.

For a shifter you loose yourself to your inner animal and you eventually become more animalistic than human. When it comes to witches/wizards you slowly loose your mind and become too dangerous to be around others. When it came to death of a soulmate one looses themselves just as if they were rejected, it's love that your losing and it's overwhelming and painful. Reading further I cam across the different ranks of soulmates/imprints/mates and there are differences alright. An omega has a different soulmate than a beta or alpha would, and the omega/beta/alpha thing goes for all supernatural beings. An alpha is more dominant than a beta or omega and has more control over themselves, but the bond is the strongest for an alpha.

An alpha is usually paired with a beta or omega and rarely ever another alpha due to the fact they would argue and constantly disagree with one another. Seeing as they are both overly dominant in what they do and who they are so it's rarely compatible for two alphas to be mated. Omegas usually have other omegas or betas as mates sometimes an alpha can get a omega for a mate if it's fated that way. Now a beta is a dormant being, but less dominant and more submissive than an alpha is. An alpha is never submissive to their other half and normally they search out for an omega mate whom is purely submissive to satisfy them. Of course some people don't mate with their true other half simply for the bringing of stronger more likely genes for an heir to the future generations.

Now sometimes rarely, but possible people could have more than one mate, but usually it's only two never more than that. In the human world they wouldn't understand the polyamorous relationships between the supernatural beings because they don't know about supernatural things. It is however more likely to have two then it ever would be to have three or even four mates/soulmates/imprints in your life. Now there is another thing called a second chance mate, it too is rare but possible if deemed worthy enough to be given that opportunity. Usually your gifted second chance mate if A your first mate dies before you meet them, B they reject you, or C they die after you've already been bonded and it's deemed necessary to have a second chance.
