Snakefang found herself looking for Earthberry. The she cat walked into camp a little while later, carrying a large morsel of prey. Snakefang trotted over. "Need any help?" Snakefang asked. Earthberry glanced at her gratefully before depositing half of it into Snakefang's waiting jaws. The pair then walked over to the fresh kill pile and depositing Earthberry's catch onto it. "Well done, Earthberry!" Snakefang commented, a little too enthusiastically. The earth brown she cat visibly blushed.

"T-thanks, Snakefang," she murmured. There was lots of happiness in the she cat's pretty green gaze. Earthberry straightened. "Are you staring at me?" Snakefang physically jumped backward.

"N-n-no n-n-not at a-all," she stammered, feeling heat rise in her fur. Her eyes were darting around. She could feel Viperfrost's eyes burn into her back. "I have to... Um... See the leader bye!" Earthberry's gaze softened.

"Bye," she murmured back. Snakefang raced into the leader's den, before hitting the wall that is. Bristlestar blinked.

"Well, that's one way to enter," she commented. Snakefang straightened.

"You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, about the gathering." Gathering. The word was new to Snakefang's ears. Bristlestar seemed to sense her confusion for she went on, "the gathering. The gathering is a, well, gathering, where the four clans meet every full moon. Wait, this isn't the first gathering... So why did you look so confused?"

"There're four clans?"

"Snakefang, why did you look so confused when I said 'gathering'? Surely you've heard about it before?" Snakefang gave a sheepish smile.

"I-I guess, I wasn't really paying attention when you mentioned them?"

"Were you paying attention to someone else perhaps?" Snakefang felt heat form under her fur.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You're blushing."

"Blush- Blushing? Nah-ah. I don't blush." Bristlestar gave her a look.

"Why are you doing it now, then? And why do you do it around Earthberry? Hm?"

"Ugh! You sound like my mother!"

"I was one, once." Snakefang stopped, remembering the conversation about Kaasuk.

"You don't know that your daughter doesn't feel these things anymore? Like she'd want me to feel like this."

"So you do know what you're feeling?"

"Yes! I'm not an idiot! I just.... Don't want to admit it to myself." She stood up. "I have... To go...."
